RT: Israeli PM’s 2010 Iran strike order rebuffed by IDF, Mossad

IIn 2010, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the IDF to prepare fully for a war with Iran. The head of Mossad intelligence service and country’s chief of general staff opposed the move and prevented war with Iran, a documentary claims.

Rightardia is not surprised  We view Bibi as a belligerent conservative in the same vein as GW Bush.

Bibi backed VoMitt because he wanted a war with Iran.

Bibi is a dangerous man who needs to be thrown out of office.

Fars News Agency : Egyptian Politician Stresses Necessity for Nuclear-Free Middle-East

Israel is believed to be the sole possessor of nuclear arms in the Middle East with over 200 ready-to-launch warheads in its stockpile.

Note: Pakistan is also a nuclear power.

Russia Today: Is Netanyahu's tough talk on Iran just smoke and mirrors?

"Israel’s threats that it could attack Iran at any time appear to be a tactical ploy, after a government insider revealed that no military plans against Tehran have been discussed by Israel's top ministers for “months.”
The information was leaked to news agency Reuters by a highly-placed official who has been briefed on all the meetings of the octet – an inner council of the top eight Israeli ministers, presided over by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."

Rightardia has suggested that a unilateral Israeli attack on Iran is unlikely because the Israelis lack the strategic bomber and tanker force necessary for a successful preemptive attack.

Such an attack would probably fail and simply cause the Iranians to accelerate their nuclear ambitions.

Worse, an Israeli attack could lead to a middle eastern regional war with the US backing Israel and Russia, the Arab states.

Haaretz Daily Newspaper: As Netanyahu pushes Israel closer to war with Iran, Israelis cannot keep silent

"Here's a possible scenario: Israel attacks Iran despite the strenuous opposition of President Barack Obama, who is practically pleading that Israel leave the work to the United States. Why? Because Benjamin Netanyahu has a historical mind-set and a historical outlook under which, basically, Israel is "the eternal nation" and the United States, with all due respect, is just the Assyria or the Babylonia, the Greece or the Rome, of our age. Meaning: We are everlasting, we are an eternal people, and they, despite all their strength and power, are merely temporary and ephemeral."

Mittens panders to Israel

Der Spiegel:

The trip to Israel may help Romney in the short-term. But in the long-term the Republican has done damage. The Middle East needs the US as a mediator. As such, the presidential hopeful has already disqualified himself.

Team Chickenhawk: Romney and sons

"My sons are all adults and they've made decisions about their careers and they've chosen not to serve in the military and active duty and I respect their decision in that regard. One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping me get elected because they think I'd be a great president." -Mittens

In other words, My sons joined the Mormon Foreign Legion and rode their sissy bikes all over the world spreading our non-creedal Christian faith.

That's a lot more important than serving our nation in a time of war.

Of course, Mittens is heading to Israel and Poland and you will hear him talk big how he will force Iran to abandon its nuclear ambition. This, of course, would never happen with "right wing diplomacy" if there is such an animal.

Mittens will also talk about building an ABM system in Poland that is certain to anger the Russians, who Mittens considers to be geo-political enemy number one.

It is clear Mitt and the Republicans want to restart the Cold War.

Marine commander: We We're Attacked both in '93 & on 9/11 because of U.S. support for Israel

Published on Jul 6, 2012 by

This is why we were attacked. Please check out this link: http://www.youtube.com/RepresentativePress

John Mearsheimer, Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago, and Stephen Walt who wrote,The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy would agree.

Israel has suggested it is a deterrent to middle east terrorism but Osama bin Laden had even said:

The war is between us and the Jews. Any country that steps into the same trench as the Jews has only itself to blame.

NewsDaily: Romney to visit Israel in late July, meet with Netanyahu

NewsDaily (2012-07-02) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will travel to Israel in late July for a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aimed at fleshing out his foreign policy credentials.

Mitt has weak foreign policy credentials but he wall be sure to get the nod from Bibi Natenyahu who doesn't get along well with President Obama.

Watch for hawhish statements from Mittens in Israel. Mitt has never served in the armed forces.

Alternative View: Public Spats With Israel Matter « Commentary Magazine

"For decades Palestinians have dreamed of the United States someday abandoning Israel. They have been encouraged in this belief by many of their foreign supporters and this foolish notion has drawn strength from any credibility given to the Walt-Mearsheimer thesis that sees the United States being manipulated by a crafty pro-Israel cabal. Peace will be impossible until a sea change occurs with the political culture of the Palestinians that will make it possible for their leaders to recognize the legitimacy of a Jewish state no matter where its borders are drawn. But one of the necessary preconditions to that sea change is recognition on the part of the Arab and Muslim world that Israel is permanent fixture in the region and will never be betrayed by its superpower ally. . .

But if all Romney does differently is to conduct those arguments quietly and thereby avoid the ambushes, staged fights and attempts to humiliate Israel’s government that the president preferred, his administration would be a marked improvement."

Rightardia doesn't agree with the Commentary conclusion. Israel has had 60 years to settle with Palestine on its own terms and has not. The US needs to put pressure on Israel because "quiet diplomacy" has not been effective, particularly with a Zionist like Bibi Natenyahu.

Israel wants to attack Iran but can not launch a "successful attack" without US tanker and bomber support.  Iran would certainly develop a nuclear bomb after such an attack and a regional middle eastern war would be a likely outcome after a combined Us-Israeli attack against Iran,

Israel is trying to bite off more than it can chew with Iran. it is clear from the public spats between the two administrations that Israel and US interests in the middle east no longer coincide and probably never really did.

Media Matters: Fox's Bolton Ignores The Potential Consequences Of An Iran Strike

"But (John) Bolton at no point mentions the potential consequences of a strike on Iran. Meir Dagan, the former director of Israel's national intelligence agency, the Mossad, has said that an Israeli strike on Iran would likely lead to a regional war."

Rightardia suggest that an Iranian nuclear weapons capability will negate Israeli nuclear superiority in the Middle East. We do not believe an Iranian nuclear capability would pose a threat to the US.

Botton could have a key role in US diplomacy if Mittens is elected president. Mittens has peculiar views of the US international role and is likely to provide additional support to Israel that may lead to a regional war and conflict with Russia.
Romney sees Russia as the biggest threat to the Us, a position that Colin Powell found to be incredulous.

Gasoline prices are down

Good timing with Memorial Day coming up.

Meanwhile, The five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany have been will have high-level meeting with Iranian officials in Baghdad next week that may lead to an interim agreement with Iran on it nuclear ambitions.

If the agreement is substantial, Rightardia would expect the US to withdraw naval forces near the Strait of Hormuz..This would bring gas prices ever lower.

Regardless, don't expect the Israelis to be happy with the agreement. PM Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu would not be pleased unless Iran dismantled its nuclear program, something Iran is unlikely to even consider.

Haaretz Daily Newspaper | Israel News: Diplomania

Seven days before the opening of the next round of Iran nuclear talks. Troubled by a possible deal between Iran and the world powers, Israel in unhappy about the talks on May 23 in Baghdad,  perhaps hoping that they will fail completely.
Iran’s nuclear program is to be discussed in Baghdad among the six powers: the U.S., Russia, China, France, Germany, Britain – and Iran.
Israel is concerned only partial demands on Iran will not put a stop to the county’s military nuclear program. Israel categorically rejects any kind of intermediate agreement, but that is the most likely outcome of the meeting in Baghdad.

Commentary: Heads: Bibi Wins; Tails: His Rivals Lose

For Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the last-minute deal concluded yesterday to put off elections and bring the Kadima Party into his coalition is another instance of his crafty strategy producing a heads, I win, tails, you lose moment in Israeli politics. Though the scenario in which he went to the polls in September to . . .

Rightardia agrees. What in the world was the Kadima Party thinking of unless it knew it could not win the next election.

Ria Novosti Infographic: Likely Scenarios for Israeli Attack Against Iran

RIA NovostiLikely Scenarios for Israeli Attack Against IranLikely Scenarios for Israeli Attack Against Iran

18:12 17/04/2012 Israel has hinted in recent months it may carry out a military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. The United States has also refused to rule out force.>>

Rightrdia thinks an Israel attack is unlikely because US strategic bomber and tanker support would be essential to a sucessful attack.

Obama is astute enough to know such an attack would result in a regional war and even conflict with Russia.

Israel whines about nuclear negotiations with Iran

Biibi starts to sulk

Binyamin Netanyahu said the US and world powers had given Tehran a "freebie" of five more weeks to continue enriching uranium without restrictions before additional talks in Baghdad next month.

The prime minister comments were an attack on President Obama.

Obama’s replied quickly at the Western Hemisphere summit in Cartagenia, Colombia,

Obama said:

The notion that somehow we've given something away or a `freebie' would indicate Iran has gotten something. In fact, they've got some of the toughest sanctions that they're going to be facing coming up in just a few months if they don't take advantage of these talks.

The US should try to win some concessions form Iran so the US fleet can be withdrawn from the Strait of Houmuz. Gasoline prices will drop just as soon as this happens.

The Iranian view is very different according to FARS.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain and France plus Germany) have reached a common understanding in the Istanbul talks on Saturday. He said settling the deadlock between Iran and the West would benefit both parties.

We are trying to wrap up this false dossier which has been plotted for the Islamic Republic of Iran. This would benefit both Iran and the West.

Do you see the trend?

Israel is primarily responsible for the gas price rise because it put political pressure on the president that led to the deployment of naval and amphibious task forces around the Strait of Hormuz.

This is because the US Congress is fully supportive of Israel. So in a way, Obama is cause the gas prices to rise. He wants to avoid another middle east regional war.

Rightardia predicted this would happen once the US Navy movement into the Persian Gulf  began. Oddly, the media rarely mentions the real cause of the gas price rise.

Of course, the Republicans are well aware of the cause of the spike in fuel prices. However, the GOP is trying to make it a domestic issue.

Haaretz Daily Newspaper | Israel News: U.S. Congress supports additional funding for Israel's Iron Dome systems

Iron Dome system

"The Iron Dome missile defense system has proven its effectiveness, as it successfully intercepted nearly 60 rockets fired from within the Gaza Strip last week. U.S. Congressmen were also impressed by the performance, and Rep. Howard L. Berman, (D-Valley Village) - the top Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee - introduced the Iron Dome Support Act (IDSA) authorizing the President to provide assistance if requested by the Israeli government to procure additional Iron Dome anti-missile defense systems."

This system may have actually been developed for the defense of Singapore. See http://military21.blogspot.com/2011/06/was-iron-dome-defense-system-actually.html

Israel could have acquired the cheaper and more accessible system, the Vulcan-Phalanx cannon system manufactured by Raytheon. The US has provided $250 million to fund the Iron Dome project.

The land-based version of the batteries, called Centurion, are used in Afghanistan and Iraq to protect American and NATO forces.

RT: 'Israel has no capability to attack Iran'

Uploaded by  on Feb 25, 2012

This is a good run down on the Iran situation. It is an analysis that you will not see in US mainstream media.

Essentially Perter Eyre says the US is after regime change in Iran. Eyre also indicates that Israel alone does not have the capability to attack Iran, something Rightardia said a few weeks ago. See Eyre's comments at 4.35 minutes.

If Iran is attacked it will be by combined US and Israeli air forces. Israel only has 15 F-15I Strike Eagle aircraft and 8 Boeing 707 tanker aircraft. The 5,000 lb. GBU-28 bunker buster bomb is to too under powered to take out Iranian nuclear facilities. Israel could also launch missiles but the Iranians would be sure to respond with their own.

The Russia Today interview says:

Questions remain over Iran's nuclear programme after UN atomic officials said Tehran has failed to co-operate with them. The international community suspects that Tehran is building a nuclear bomb, but Iran insists it's only seeking peaceful atomic energy. The U.S. and its allies have been imposing tough economic sanctions, while Israel has even threatened military action against Iran's nuclear sites. But it's being reported that America's intelligence community has doubts about the nuclear allegations. RT talks to the Middle East Consultant, Peter Eyre.

Haaretz Daily Newspaper | Israel News: Netanyahu is demolishing the strategic alliance with U.S.

"It's impossible to overstate the importance of an alliance with the West, and especially the United States, prior to Israel's first confrontation with a regional power. It's not "just" about American planes, bombs and refueling. It's not "just" about information from the NATO radar in Turkey; or about ending the war before it drags on longer than the eight year Iran-Iraq war, as senior Mossad officials have warned it could; or even about finishing the process of halting Iran's nuclear program, which Israel lacks the capacity to do on its own.
Israel's entire deterrent posture - which is what prevents the 200,000 missiles aimed at it from actually being launched - stems from its alliance with the United States. If Israel is viewed in this region not as part of the American world order, but as America's foe, this deterrence will be destroyed."
After the $ one trillion Iraq war the US is no longer going to give Israel a blank check to attack its enemies.

It is unfortunate that Israel did not try to make peace with its Arab neighbors. Instead it became the school yard bully of the Middle East. Israel is now nervous that its nuclear supremacy is fading away.

However, that is Israel's problem, not the problem of the US.

No American should have to sacrifice their life for Israel. No American should have to pay $5 a gallon or more for gasoline to mollify the crazed Israeli war monkey, Benjamin Natenyahu.

The best thing that could happen would be for the Israeli people to dump the Likud and Natenyahu before it is too late for peace.
