The Five Pillars of The Teahadists

John Boehner would be wise to isolate them form the GOP and work with Nancy Pelosi's Democrats. It's the only way he will be able to lead the House.

Speaker John Boehener's choice

John Boehner has a chance called "bipartisanship" to go down in history as a memorable speaker. He got the Tax Relief Act of 2012 passed by working with the Democratic minority leader, Nancy Pelosi.

He would be smarter to isolate the declining Tea Party in his GOP caucus and work with Pelosi to get the job done that America needs.

Will John Boehner continue to take body blows for the home team or get realistic? .

The historians are watching you, Speaker Boehner.

US 112th House has 16 per cent approval

This the house that John "Boohoo" Boehner built.

Whatever you may think about Nancy Pelosi, Rightardia thinks she would be a huge improvement.

SFGate: Nancy Pelosi goes on the attack against Mittens

Former Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi

"The House minority leader said Republicans tout the private sector's role in creating jobs and say they are "the ones who say they're risk takers."

But the Romney campaign's aggressive attacks on Obama over Solyndra, which went belly-up after receiving a $535 million federal loan guarantee, sends the opposite message.

"Now all of a sudden, they're saying, 'don't take risks,' " she said."

Rightardia thinks we need Nancy Pelosi back bad as the speaker. We used to read The Gavel, the US House blog,  which had things going on in it all of the time. Several new bills were introduced weekly. At that time The Gavel had a positive tone.

When John Boehner took over The Gavel became an attack vehicle against the president.

Here are the cirrent headline articles in The Gavel.
  1. Where’s Senate Democrats’ Plan to Stop Student Loan Rates from Doubling?
  2. Summer Plans for Republicans “Heavy on Jobs”
  3. ObamaCare to Tax Job Creators “Out of Existence,” Send Jobs Overseas
  4. Speaker Boehner's Memorial Day Message
  5. Weekly Address Highlights: Memorial Day & the GOP Jobs Plan

That's it!

Why, because the 112th House was ineffective and only passed 75 bills in a two year period which is a historically low output for the House.

The 112th went out of session with a 17 per cent overall favorability rating from Gallup, a historic low. It's favorability rating during the last week was 12 per cent, even lower.

Anyone who thinks Republicans should continue to control the House is misinformed. The 112th was a "do nothing" House.

it was a national embarrassment.

Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats did a far better job of running the House.

Even the founders would have been impressed with her work as speaker!

Why don't the Catholic bishops see the big picture?

The bigger picture, of course, for Republicans is tax cuts for the one per cent.

Republicans are taking about cutting food stamps $ 34 billion. This program is one of the most effective federal programs of all because for every federal dollar spent, there is a multiplier effect.

The Congressional Budget Office said that 45 million people received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (SNAP) in 2011, a 70% increase from 2007. Twenty per cent of the cost of the program resulted from a small increase in SNAP benefits.

The number of people receiving SNAP, commonly known as food stamps, would continue growing until 2014 when the economy is expected to recover.
Mitt Romney is also talking about reforming HUD which implies people will be tossed out of public housing.

Rightardia guesses that will achieve the life long dream of conservatives of getting blacks off of the plantation!

The US is not out of the woods yet and a continuation of conservative supply side economics could put the US back into the deep forest.

Mario Piperni: Commie Hunters

Mario has a great collection of Allen West's quotes. In typical rightard style,
West mixes up the Nazis with the communists. West referred to the the Congressional Progressive Caucus as communist.

Speaker John Boehner should censure West, but Rightardia doubts that Boehner has the cojones to do it.

West, of course, would never apologize because that would be "appeasement."

  • “If Joseph Goebbels was around, he’d be very proud of the Democrat party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine.”
  • [Liberals], take your message of equality of achievement. … You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.”
  • [Liberal women] have been neutering American men and bringing us to the point of this incredible weakness — to let them know that we are not going to have our men become subservient. That’s what we need you to do. Because if you don’t, then the debt will continue to grow…deficits will continue to grow.”

Rightardia's special bumper sticker for Allen West

  • “Every time I see one of those bumper stickers [the Coexist movement], I look at the person inside that is driving. Because that person represents something that would give away our country. Would give away who we are, our rights and freedoms and liberties because they are afraid to stand up and confront that which is the antithesis, anathema of who we are.”
  • [The Democratic party is a] “21st-century plantation. So I’m here as the modern-day Harriet Tubman, to kind of lead people on the Underground Railroad, away from that plantation into a sense of sensibility.”
bumper sticker: Pavlovian Obeisance

The GOP has got a serious problem with women

Uploaded by  on Mar 19, 2012

Judging from comments made recently by prominent Republicans, the GOP has got a serious problem with women. Until they get over their issues, women have got a serious problem with the GOP.

Is it fair to call the 112th Congress: "Do Nothing?"

In 2011 4,288 bills introduced in the Congress and it was anticipated that 200 would become law.

The 112th Congress didn't even get 100 passed into law.

Yes, it is a "do nothing" congress. This may explain why this congress had the lowest approval rating ever (17 per cent overall) in the history of the Gallup poll.
