Why don't the Catholic bishops see the big picture?

The bigger picture, of course, for Republicans is tax cuts for the one per cent.

Republicans are taking about cutting food stamps $ 34 billion. This program is one of the most effective federal programs of all because for every federal dollar spent, there is a multiplier effect.

The Congressional Budget Office said that 45 million people received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (SNAP) in 2011, a 70% increase from 2007. Twenty per cent of the cost of the program resulted from a small increase in SNAP benefits.

The number of people receiving SNAP, commonly known as food stamps, would continue growing until 2014 when the economy is expected to recover.
Mitt Romney is also talking about reforming HUD which implies people will be tossed out of public housing.

Rightardia guesses that will achieve the life long dream of conservatives of getting blacks off of the plantation!

The US is not out of the woods yet and a continuation of conservative supply side economics could put the US back into the deep forest.
