Banned Mormon cartoon

Uploaded by  on Feb 25, 2010

This cartoon  has a look and feel os somthing produced  in the 1950s or 1960s. However, the information is accurate based on what Rightardia knows about the Latter Day Saints. . There is an exteneded version of this cartoon at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3BqLZ8UoZk

If you have concerns about about Mitten's regiion, this may answer some of your questions. Romeny is a devout Mormon who has been been both a Mormon bishop and stake holder or stake presidnet.

Joseph Smith perceived the Bible had been translated incorrectly.  He used seer stone which were equivalent to a crystal ball to translate  the golden plates he discovered in NY and "corrected" the Bible.

Elohim was the arch god in Judaism who created Jahweh and Asherah, his wife. Around 600 bce, King Joseph/Josiah got rid of Asherah and Judsiam become monotheistic.

However, it was Elohim who created Adam and Eve. Elohim is a plural Hebrew form which may denote the dual sexauaity of Elohim, who was both male and female.

This video was made by Jeremiah Films (www.jeremiahfilms.com). Foundational Mormon Doctrines, twisted as they are, were never more readily / simply explained, demonstrated & exposed than in the God Makers Cartoon aka "The BANNED Mormon Cartoon"..

The claims contained within are what the Mormon religion was actually founded on. Many modern Mormons now try to distance themselves from these views simply because of their blatant absurdity, yet still cannot manage to simply walk away from their religion, such is the power of the constraints of religion on the mind.

Despite these absurdities, millions of Americans call themselves Mormons today.

The Atheist Pig on creationism

A recent Gallup poll indicated that 46% of Americans believe in creationism.

Rightardia suggests that American parents are often indoctrinating their children with irrational beliefs about the world at an early age.

Is there any wonder why the US is behind other nations in science and mathematics?

The right wing in the US has become increasingly Christo-fascist. Preachers talk about Christian prosperity, a concept that is not evident in the Bible but is supportive of corporations and an affluent life style in conflict with the teachings of Jesus.

This theology is appealing to poorer Americans.

Mainstream evangelicalism has consistently rejected prosperity theology. Prosperity ministries have frequently come into conflict with other Christian groups, including those within the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements.

Critics argue that prosperity theology has little in common with traditional Christian theology.

Interlude with an Evangelical

Without religion, we'd have good people doing good things, and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

--Stephen Weinburg

The Major was walking with his wife on an excellent beach in Pinellas county, FL. it was one of those rare times when a couple who has a large active family can slip away for perhaps a half an hour.

The Major is walking on the beech with his quad cane when he is approached by another couple. A man asked if The Major had hurt his knee. The Major's wife said, "No, it was something else.

The man then offered to say a prayer with The Major.

The Major looked at the man and said, "No thank you. I'm not religious."

At this point the other man should have retreated and apologized for the intrusion.

Instead he said, Even if you don't love god, He loves you!

The Major retorted, "Well, you are certainly entitled to you opinion."

It is likely the man was a clergyman or an Evangelical who wanted to invite my wife and I to his church. Proselytisation is a big part of Christianity and has been for two millennia.

The Christian right often suggests that atheism is a religion. Most non-believers simply want to be left alone by the likes of the Evangelical the Major met on the beach.

Atheists don't  proselytize. We don't try to make religious people into non-believers. However, if pressed about our "beliefs' we will be happy to explain there is little evidence for a supreme being.

Most atheists are also agnostic. We know that the existence of God can nether be proven or disproven. Many Christians on the other hand, are gnostic, they intuitively know that God exists.

Most of the friction arises between non-believers and religious when religious people try to force their values on others by insisting on prayers at the start of public events or by adding religious content to schools or other public institutions.

Evangelicals are also cliquish. There are evangelical cliques in the armed services.  This is big problem in the Air Force because the Air Force Academy is located near Colorado Springs, an Evangelical hot bed. Many of the young academy graduates who will  be the future leaders of the air Force marry local evangelical girls.

By cliquishness, the major means this. You are either one of use or against us. There are no gray areas in the Evangelical mind.

It is interesting that the Evangelical the major met at the beach assumed God is a man. The Hebrew creator was named Elohim, a plural form, and Elohim was both male and female.

Elohim created two gods, Yahweh, who was male and Asherah, who was female. King Joseph or Josiah, get rid of Asherah around 600 BCE. Asherah was more popular than Jahweh, who was a mashugana.

At the time, Asherah had shrines along roads and her likeness was in every Hebrew kitchen. King Josiah encouraged the exclusive worship of Yahweh and outlawed all other forms of worship. So Judaism became a monotheistic religion.

If you are interested in what happens when Evangelical and atheists debate, check out some of the Rational Response Squad videos on You Tube: see  http://youtu.be/D-rKiGJrcNw

Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort got creamed in the May, 2007 debate.

The Rightardian religious thought for the day

A moment of silence please!

Christian conservatives held at The Awakening conference in Florida

Few said they would name Mitt Romney as their first choice for president. Many plan to vote for Mittens using a lesser of evils argument.

Matt Barber, vice president of Liberty Counsel Action, whose organization is a co-sponsor of the two-day conference said:

This is the most important election in our lifetime.

Rightardia would agree that the election is important. If Mitt Romney were to win, a corporate bean counter who lacks people skills would become president. Romney was not a successful governor of MA. He refused to work with the Democratic majority and vetoed 840 bills. of which more than 600 were overturned.

His favorability rating at the end of his term was 30 per cent and he was therefore unable to run for reelection.

The MA voters were onto Mittens and when he ran against ted Kennedy for his senate job, and he was thrashed.

This is what Rightardia would expect if Mittens was elected president.

1. The US would back Israel with military force in an attack on Iran. A regional  middle east war would ensue. Us foreign policy could be similar to that of GW Bush or Ronald Reagan: walk noisily and use a big stick whenever required.
2. Medicare and Social Security would be scaled back and privatized. Defense spending would increase.
3. The National Labor relations Board and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration would be neutered
4. The Department of Interior would become pro-business and the Keystone XL Pipeline would be finished so oil could be shipped overseas from Port Arthur Texas.
5. The Department of Housing and Urban Development would be scaled back an many people would be forced out of public housing to get minorities off of the plantation.
6. Food stamps or SNAP would take a $ 30 billion hit. According to Mark Zandi of Moody's analytics, SNAP is the most effective of federal programs.
7. The Bush tax cuts would continue with token 15 per cent cuts for the most affluent Americans.

Outcome:  the economy would improve a while form the momentum built during the Obama administration and then slide back into recession

How religion has retarded society

Uploaded by  on Sep 3, 2010

Neil deGrasse Tyson, an American astrophysicist and Director of the Hayden Planetarium, discusses how Islamic fundamentalist destroyed the enlightenment era of the Middle East and why we should be concerned today.roman
What Tyson is talking about also happened in Europe for a 1,000 years after the fall of the Roman Empire.
When the Moors invaded Spain 711, Spain was still in the dark ages and the Moors were hundreds of years ahead of the Spanish.
Then something regressive happened to Islamic culture. Tyson explains it well.
Could this happen in the US, too? You betcha.
As Barry Goldwater explained to The Advocate:
I don't have any respect for the Religious Right. There is no place in this country for practicing religion in politics. That goes for Falwell, Robertson and all the rest of these political preachers. They are a detriment to the country.

What religion can do to a culture

Religion has had a socially regressive effect on humanity. The  Egyptian, Greek and Roman cultures increased human knowledge and conditions for the common man. The Coliseum. the Greeks invented a planetary clock that could track the planets in the heavens and the Egyptians built the largest structures on earth until the 20th century.

Then the Roman Empire collapsed and the Roman catholic clerics took over and little happened for a thousand years during the Dark Ages.

The Dark Ages ended with the beginning of Enlightenment. You can credit Charlemagne who united all of western Europe under his rule and the Muslim invasion of Spain also provided some culture shock to the Europeans because Islamic culture was centures ahead of European when the Moors invaded Spain in 711.

Unfortunately, the Muslim culture also fell into a Dark Ages as the Europeans were coming out of their's.

Could an Islamic Dark Ages infect the world?

Luke Muehlhauser suggests another Dark Ages could follow if Islamic fundamentalism takes root in the world.

Many months ago, Rightardia noticed an article that pointed out that many Nobel laureates have had Jewish heritage while few laureates had an Islamic one. Muslims, indeed, have not been recipients of many Nobel prizes.

Can we blame Islam or the Arab culture that predominates in Islam for this? Perhaps.

Islam is certainly a more a rationale religion when compared to Christianity. However, the Europeans threw off the shackles of religion centuries ago. Some Islamic countries like Yemen, Somalia and Afghanistan have cultures that are more medieval than modern and are seeped in religion.

Newsy: Yiddish Signs Order Women To Move Over

BY KERRY LEARY

ANCHOR ERICA COGHILL

You're watching multisource video news analysis from Newsy.

The saying, “chivalry is dead” has been around for a while now. So, are signs posted in Yiddish in a New York City neighborhood proving that the saying is actually true- or is it simply a misunderstanding? Gawker reports that the signs translate to:

"Precious Jewish daughters, please move over to the side when you see a man come across."

So, why are women supposed to make way for men on the sidewalks in Brooklyn? According to a New York Daily News interview, it’s simply a religious practice.

"This is standard practice in Hasidic communities all over: Step aside when a man is approaching you from the opposite direction...It's a way of the community reminding people to stay in line, so to speak.”

WPIX asked some residents of the neighborhood to state their opinions about the signs.

“What century are we in right now? I don’t need to move for a man. Actually they need to move for us.”
“They should be equal. Women are not above men and men are not above women.”

The Brooklyn Paper opened their article about the signs with a joke, but then got more serious about the issue.

“Why did the Orthodox Jewish woman cross the road? Because a Yiddish sign ordered her.”

Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann will save America from itself

Rightardia has seen several versions of the Republican seven dwarfs theme.

We always considered Michelle Bachmann to be "Snow White."

The good news in the debate: no one is taking Sarah Palin seriously anymore. No one in media even covered her comments during the debate.

Bachmann may end up in the VP spot to appeal to women and to activate evangelicals who are traditionally suspicious of Mormons like Romney.

Romney is a Mormon bishop who believes in the latter Day Saints LDS "White Horse Prophesy.

"As Noah Feldman pointed out that the Latter Day Saints (LDS) were founded by Prophet Joseph Smith, Mormons have held their secrets close such as their 'White Horse Prophecy:'

Of interest when Mitt was the head of the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics he and other Olympic leaders showed up on palomino horses.

Mormons believe that one day a Mormon leader will literally ride in to save the U.S. Constitution – and to transform America into the base for the institution of a world-wide Mormon theocracy.

Micheal D. Moody said,

Mitt's made it clear to his friends that he was pre-ordained to fulfill this prophecy, to become the Mormon President who would save our Constitution and transform America as Joseph Smith prophesied.

Moody was Mitt's fraternity brother at Brigham Young University,"

It is interesting that Scientology also suggests that Americans need a the man on the white horse to lead the country.

So Mitt and Michelle are the latest in conservative saviors.

Steven Hawking: The heaven myth

In an interview published in The Guardian newspaper, the Stephan Hawking says the human brain is a like a computer. The brain will stop working when its components fail.

Hawking says: "There is no heaven or afterlife for broken-down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark."

In his book "Grand Design," Hawking had declared that it was "not necessary to invoke God ... to get the universe going."

Rightardia agrees. Early priests and shaman like the government wanted control and created  elaborate after life myths. After you pay you taxes, you come to the temple or church, make an offering and as long as you were in the good graces of the priests when you died, they would help you get to paradise.

What is the unforgivable sin in Christianity, murder, rape or incest? No, it is blasphemy, According to Wikipedia, Blasphemy is irreverence toward holy personages, religious artifacts, customs, and beliefs,

Rightardia laughed at all of jokes about Osama Bin Laden's 72 virgins that were waiting fro him in hell. How can people believe such nonsense. We wonder how many people have died believing such a foolish notion.

Christian organizations have become sales organizations in which the religious leaders engage in cults of personalities.

The heaven myth is key to a churches power over people because only the church can guarantee the soul's entry into heaven. if you don't buy into the heaven myth, you really don't need to worry about that other religious myth: the soul.

Inside Florida's Koran Burner's Church

Afghanistan endured a second day of violence Saturday sparked by Florida
Pastor Terry Jones' Koran-burning.

At least eight people were killed asa crowd of thousands marched through Kandahar, chanting slogans and attacking government buildings. The violent demonstration comes after a crowd angry over the burning of a Koran in Florida attacked the U.N. mission in Mazar-i-Sharif, killing four Nepalese guards and three European workers as well as several Afghans.

The Daily Beast's Leon Dische Becker meets the congregants of Jones' church in Florida.

Everyone warned Jones the moron not to burn The Koran.

Jones was on Nightline claiming no responsibility for the violence.  In his mind, the attacks occurred because Islam is a violent religion.

Rightradia apoligizes to our Arab readers and wants you to know that few Americans support Pastor Jones act to burn the Koran.

The biggest and oldest Ponzi scheme of all: religion

Dr Richard Wiener of the Research Corporation for Science Advancement, and the University of Arizona recently stated:

In a large number of modern secular democracies, there's been a trend that folk are identifying themselves as non-affiliated with religion; in the Netherlands the number was 40%, and the highest we saw was in the Czech Republic, where the number was 60%.

The counties in which religion is becoming extinct are:

Australia, Austria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Switzerland.

Rightardia looks at religion as a tax-exempt sales organization that is dysfunctional. Religions want you to believe in a God and that people have souls. A particular religion will protect your soul if you contribute money and time to the church.

It is essentially a quid pro quo transaction. You scratch the church's back and you'll get into heaven.

In the US are there are two kinds of Christian churches: the mainstream protestant and Catholic churches are the feel-good churches. They want you to feel good about yourself and believe that you are doing the Lord's work by coming to church and socializing with other members of the church. At least these churches understand the basic tenets of Jesus.

The other wing of Christianity is the evangelical and fundamentalists, many of whom are militant. The fundies  take the words in the bible literally and believe these were etched in stone by God.

Most 'good Catholics" know that, at best, 25 per cent of what is written in the bible are the words of Jesus.  Most bible scholars would contest even that figure.

Thomas Jefferson even wrote a version of the bible. The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth, that removed the supernatural chapters written by the four evangelicals.

Evangelicals are focused on proselytizing others and have wickered American nationalism intro the bible. The Nazis did the same thing with German nationalism.

That is why the Nazis had Teutonic crosses pointed on their aircraft and tanks. There were actually more of the crosses on Nazi weapon systems than the swastika. Killing Jews and Slavs was God's work to Hitler.

Of course, The swastika had also been called the "twisted cross."

Who are the biggest beneficiaries of this Ponzi scheme? That would be the church leaders at the top of the religious food chain. The catholic pope lives the opulent life style of a king and Benny Hinn lives in "a palatial estate with ocean and city views." He also make $5,000,000 tax free dollars a year.

The St. Petersburg times even wrote a story about the Salvation Army and found the top leader living in a $300,000 home. All of the Salvation Army's top administrators are ordained clergy.

Well, God help those who help themselves, doesn't she?

Rightardia rerun: Why you should never give money to a church

This message is both in the old and new testament.  In Romans 8:28,"God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God".

The Bible says "The Lord Will Provide in (Genesis 22:9-14)." It also says this in Philippians 4:19 "And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches which have been given to us in Christ Jesus."

Most good Christians know that the domain of God is in the heavens and Satan's domain is the Earth:

Enoch 6-9 when he writes the following: "And wickedness very long continued and widespread pervaded all the races of men, until very little seed of justice was in them. For unlawful unions came about on earth, as angels linked themselves with offspring of the daughters of men, who bore to them sons, who on account of their exceeding great were called Giants. The angels, then, brought to their wives as gifts teachings of evil, for they taught them the virtues of roots and herbs, and dyeing and cosmetics and discoveries of precious materials, love-philtes, hatreds, amours, passions, constraints of love, the bonds of witchcraft, every sorcery and idolatry, hateful to God; and when this was come into the world, the affairs of wickedness were propagated to overflowing, and those of justice dwindled to very little."

This means that all of the money and other wordy goods on Earth belong to Satan. When you give  a church money, you are giving the Mammon of Satan to the church.

Over time this will thoroughly ruin the church as is the case of the evangelicals and the fundamentalists who have been thoroughly corrupted by the Republican Party.

The demon Mammon is worshipped by Republicans

This corruption has been so perverse that evangelicals and fundamentalists have completely  lost the meaning of the Bible. Many think the Bible is really about capitalist money grubbing and fighting communism. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

If a church is, in fact, doing the word of God, it should not need monetary contributions form parishioners at all. As Silver Silverman has often stated: "Jesus is Magic."

This means the angles in heaven, the Lord, the Holy ghost and God himself will provide for the temporal needs of a true Christian pastor who is worthy of the Lord' s charity.

The Lord will provide. A devout Christian church leader should expect donations to magically appear in the collection plate. Large checks should magically appear in the mail as well. This is because thee Lord provides.

So the next time you are about to drop a donation into the churches' collection plate, hold on to the Satan's Mammon and let those mystical resources automagically flow into your God fearing church.

Never do Satan's work by contributing money to a church. Test the faith of your pastor by withholding those donations.

Indeed, the Lord will provide. You can count on it!

Mario Piperni dot Com: Book Review

Mario Piperni dot Com
Sam Harris’ new book “The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values” is on my reading list. Here is his take on why he believes science is better suited to deal with questions of morality than religion.

Religion fails because it separates questions of right and wrong and good and evil from the actual reality of human and animal suffering.

The Catholic Church is more concerned about preventing contraception than preventing child rape; it’s more concerned about preventing gay marriage than genocide.

This is a real inversion of priorities that completely falsifies any discussion of morality in the church. The moment you’ve linked morality to the well-being of conscious creatures, you see that the practices of the church don’t maximize human well-being.

The church is as confused in talking about morality as it would be in the physics of the transubstantiation.

They could use the word “physics” over and over again, the same way they use the words “morality” and “values,” but no physicist would be obligated to take them seriously, and I’m arguing that no serious conversation about morality can include the priorities of the church.

The problem with religion is that many of its moral values are frozen in time. Can we really make moral judgments with 1000 year old or older lessons from the past?

Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction...
Happy are those who seize your infants
and dash them against the rocks
(Psalms 137:8-9)

Paul in his letter to the Romans, did not include infanticide in his list of sins. Infanticide was a common practice in both Greece and Rome and parents had the right to kill their children for just about any reason. The New Testament is also silent on abortion.

So the Catholic church's view on abortion would have to be described as modern views rather than based on scripture. Although Rightrdia does not condone abortion, we do believe the mother should have this choice.

It is interesting to hear the GOP condemning abortion and promising to make it illegal; and then on the other hand suggesting there is too much government regulation.Rightardia thinks Republicans have a different standard for corporations than it has for people.

Al Jazeera: Losing our religion

Well, maybe not so much. This week the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life released a poll showing that Americans arguably know less about various world religions than they do about who won the disco ball on the last season of Dancing With the Stars. This shouldn’t be hugely surprising.

We’re Americans, after all, and not knowing stuff is as American as apple pie. Famed historian Richard Hofstadter wrote a Pulitzer Prize winning book in 1964 entitled Anti-Intellectualism in American Life, and it is likely this strain of our historical DNA that is responsible for such phenomena as Snooki getting a book contract and Glenn Beck having an online university.

But, before you judge too harshly, it’s important to remember that this hasn’t exactly been a banner decade in the United States. Median household income has declined by almost $1,000 over the past decade once adjusted for inflation, health care costs continue to soar as we wait years for promised health care reforms to kick in (and others never made it), and the US is embroiled in foreign entanglements in what often seems like a dizzying array of places. So you can excuse people for having other things on their mind, than say the theological underpinnings of Jainism.

The problem, however, is that those foreign entanglements have some religious undertones that would be good to understand, and all too often demagogues at home in the US take advantage of the fact that many of us don’t . . .

But the real danger, of course, is that the US is involved in conflagrations with those predominantly of a different religion, including terrorists who falsely interpret their religion to justify heinous acts—all of which leads American opportunists of all stripes to use these distinctions to denigrate others and generalise about the ‘Other.’ Whether it’s nihilists cheering for random bombings abroad, or an at-the-time-unknown Pastor named Terry Jones, who has a Wyatt-Earp-moustache fetish and likes to threaten to hold Quran burnings, how better to clear out your sinuses while sowing worldwide division?

These people are all preying on fear of the unknown, leading to hatred, where none would otherwise exist. And as the great Shirley MacLaine once said, “fear makes strangers of people who would be friends.”

How else could Pastor Jones, who used Mel Gibson’s movie “Braveheart” as an inspiration to preach his anti-Islamic mumbo jumbo—in between roaming the Dove World Outreach Centre compound in Gainesville, Florida porting a pistol on his hip—get anyone listen to a single word of his inglorious claptrap . . .

That men like this can get in front of some very big microphones will always make ignorance about other religions dangerous in the world we live in today. Not to mention the fact that religion has probably been the number one cause of war since the Dinosaurs went bye-bye. So what is the answer?

Obviously, people need to be better educated, as knowledge is the best antidote to the poison spread by cranks and charlatans; this includes not just Americans, but people around the world. You must know some of these people, who believe conspiracy theories about Jews’ being warned about 9/11 ahead of time, or Buddhists planning the Chinese invasion of Tibet, to gain world sympathy for their millennium of meditation-enhanced domination . . .

So what about the US? Obviously we need to edify our students through our schools. We need to teach our citizens the truth through a media that remembers that it’s supposed to educate and not just titillate. The responsibility rests with all of us to do this, day in and day out, from the President on down, to change opinions over the long-term by making sure that fact replaces fiction.

As Charlie Brown once said, "Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, 'Where have I gone wrong?' Then a voice says to me, 'This is going to take more than one night. . ."

This opinion piece does not discuss some the major findings o f he Pew study that atheists and Jews know more about religion than other groups. This did not surprise Rightardia because it is hard to reject religion if you don't understand its history and core values. The American Jewish community is also one of the most educated in the US.

LONDON (AFP) – Britain has recognised druidry as an official religion for the first time. this is nearly a thousand years after the Celtic pagan faith was suppressed by Christianity. The country's charity commission made the announcement.

The Druid Network was granted charitable status. The decision that not only gives Druidism tax breaks, it also lets the religion take its place alongside more mainstream religions.

Druidry emerged in ancient Ireland and Britain and spread further afield during the Iron Age, especially into France, but became largely supplanted as Christianity took hold across Europe. The Roams exterminated Druid prists when they arrived in the British Isles

It has gained recent popularity because of its pantheistic nature and concern with ecology.

Rightrdia comment: Rightria thought that Wicca and Drudry were similar, but they are not. Wicca and Druidry have different histories.

Some contemporary Pagans eclectically blend Wiccan and Druid practices. Druidry and Wicca as two discrete, separate entities: See http://www.druidry.org/obod/druid-path/wicca-druidry.html
