Christian conservatives held at The Awakening conference in Florida

Few said they would name Mitt Romney as their first choice for president. Many plan to vote for Mittens using a lesser of evils argument.

Matt Barber, vice president of Liberty Counsel Action, whose organization is a co-sponsor of the two-day conference said:

This is the most important election in our lifetime.

Rightardia would agree that the election is important. If Mitt Romney were to win, a corporate bean counter who lacks people skills would become president. Romney was not a successful governor of MA. He refused to work with the Democratic majority and vetoed 840 bills. of which more than 600 were overturned.

His favorability rating at the end of his term was 30 per cent and he was therefore unable to run for reelection. 

The MA voters were onto Mittens and when he ran against ted Kennedy for his senate job, and he was thrashed.

This is what Rightardia would expect if Mittens was elected president. 

1. The US would back Israel with military force in an attack on Iran. A regional  middle east war would ensue. Us foreign policy could be similar to that of GW Bush or Ronald Reagan: walk noisily and use a big stick whenever required.

2. Medicare and Social Security would be scaled back and privatized. Defense spending would increase. 

3. The National Labor relations Board and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration would be neutered

4. The Department of Interior would become pro-business and the Keystone XL Pipeline would be finished so oil could be shipped overseas from Port Arthur Texas. 

5. The Department of Housing and Urban Development would be scaled back an many people would be forced out of public housing to get minorities off of the plantation.  

6. Food stamps or SNAP would take a $ 30 billion hit. According to Mark Zandi of Moody's analytics, SNAP is the most effective of federal programs. 

7. The Bush tax cuts would continue with token 15 per cent cuts for the most affluent Americans. 

Outcome:  the economy would improve a while form the momentum built during the Obama administration and then slide back into recession

In last night's GOP debate: Mittens 9:11 p.m. - Romney said that Obama deserves to be blamed for the recession he inherited, but that he gets no credit for any improvement.

Bill Maher on Larry King live

Maher will be back on Larry King Live tonight.

Maher recently told Larrry King why he was 0-26 at the Emmys: Maher: A panel of, like, 10 people watches one tape. If half of those people are religious, that probably eliminates me right there. A lot of people wouldn't vote for such an outspoken atheist, someone who made "Religulous."

Bill Maher also got his politically incorrect star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Maher thanked "George Bush, Sarah Palin and the pope" for the award.

NYTimes.com: U.S. Economy Lost Only 11,000 Jobs in November

In the strongest employment report since the recession began nearly two years ago, the government said Friday that the nation’s employers had all but stopped shedding jobs in November, taking some of the pressure off of President Obama to come up with a jobs creation program.

President Obama met Thursday with business leaders and economists to seek ideas for creating jobs.

The Labor Department reported that the United States economy lost 11,000 jobs in November, and the unemployment rate fell to 10 percent, down from 10.2 percent in October.

The government also significantly revised its September and October job loss estimates. September’s data was adjusted to show a loss of 139,000 jobs instead of 219,000, and in October 111,000 jobs were lost, instead of 190,000.
Even allowing for the November loss, the revisions added 148,000 people to the list of those employed in the United States in November.

Though the pace of job loss has been declining since a peak in January, the November number was surprising. Economists had been expecting a turning point to come in the late spring or summer, with employers finally adding workers as a recovery takes hold. The last time the number was so bright was in December 2007, when the economy added 120,000 jobs.

“It is clearly a much better picture, and appears to be mostly genuine,” said Nigel Gault, chief domestic economist at IHS Global Insight, who said he was encouraged by gains in the average workweek and the number of temporary workers hired. “It shows employers have come back so much and are starting to rehire.”

Right wing is hoping the recession isn't over

The right wing media--particularly Fox News--is suggesting the recession is not over. This is after Wall Street DJIA hit 10,000 points and the GDP grew by 3.5 per cent. Conservative media is suggesting the growth isn't real because of the Economic Stimulus.

Of course, these are the same people who suggested the Economic Stimulus wouldn't work. These righties were also the ones who denied the US was in a recession in 2008 that indicated that Supply Side economics was a failure.

Wait a minute! The Obama government followed Keynesian economics 101 and spent the money to get things moving again.

The employment sitiation is a hangover form the Bush administration. The Bush League never really seem to be interested in employment and Bush created about one quarter of the jobs that were created during the Clinton administration. In fact, many of the job that were created by the Bush League were government Homeland Security and airport security jobs.

Obama needs to help small business create more jobs and the Small Business Administration recently increased their loan maximum from $2 million to $5 million. Businesses continue to need more tax credits for hiring people. The government may wish to restart the 'cash for clunkers' program again and also extend the $8,000 tax credit for new home buyers.

The Obama administration needs to worry less about the large corporations represented by the US Chamber of Commerce and worry more about the moms and pops that operate small businesses.

If you don't think the recession is over, then you will have to admit that the Obama Economic Stumulus is working. In addition. government economists are qualified to make the call that a recession is over. Partisan hacks like Fox News are not qualified to make this call.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Recession: "We're in one?"

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), who threatened secession early in the Obama presidency, is facing a tough primary challenge from Sen. Kay Baily Hutchison (R). He left many puzzled when he declared his state was recession proof. Unemployment in Texas just reached the 8% mark. Texas is now in recession.

US unemployment picture in June

Unemployment rates climbed in all U.S. metropolitan areas from last June to June this year, the government announced on Wednesday. The unemployment rate in 18 areas now surpasses 15 percent. Most of the hardest hit metro areas are in California and Michigan.

Of the 49 metropolitan areas with a population of more than 1 million, the Detroit area once again claims the sad prize of highest unemployment with a 17.1 percent rate. The Riverside-San Bernardino area came in second, with a 13.7 percent rate, followed by the Charlotte area at 12.4 percent.

The South, the Mid-west and the Left Coast are the hardest hit areas.The Republicans will try to blame the recession on the Obama administration, but it started in 2008. There are indications the recession is over for corporations so it is a matter of time before businesses will start to rehire.

Republicans are hoping for a Depression

I got this email from NewsMax, a 'conservative' news source. It is hyping a new book by none other than Dick Morris, who claims the US is heading into a depression. This is interesting because the GOP led us into the Great Depression that started in 1929. The Bush Great Recession started in December 2007 and has continued during the Obama administration.

NewsMax asks, “Is Obama leading the nation into an economic train wreck?”

Dick Morris, one of America's astute political observers, the person Time magazine called the most influential man in America, says, "Yes!"

This is what Time really said about Dick Morris:

The other, a banty, cocksure New Yorker named Dick Morris, is the most influential--and infamous--political consultant on the planet.


The White House is touchy about Morris because he is the master of triangulation who helped engineer the dramatic gallop to the political center that revived Clinton's presidency and because his lack of ideological conviction mirrors the same trait critics see in Clinton. 

Morris, 48, has a history of working for both Democrats and Republicans--a career strategy that has made him a traitor in the eyes of people in both parties. He could work simultaneously for Jesse Helms and Mother Teresa and see no inherent contradiction. (Helms, in fact, has been a Morris client; the Saint of Calcutta hasn't called him as yet.) 

Morris reveals that Obama's policies and clear shift toward socialism will actually lead the country toward a 1930s-style Great Depression.  

This is a spurious claim because there is no correlation in US history with socialism and depressions or recessions. The Great Depression occurred because people could buy stocks on the margin and due to a lack of banking and investment regulation. Expensive wars and bank chicanery have spurred recessions.

Bill Clinton fired Dick Morris because like Silvio Berlusconi, the PM of Italy, Morris liked to cavort with prostitutes. Morris even allowed a prostitute to listen in on conversations with the President Clinton.

In his newest blockbuster book "Catastrophe" Dick lays out the shocking economic data much of which has been hidden by the major media.

Here we go again with the alternative reality of Republicans. Most of them seem to live in a gated community on Fantasy Island.

Dick also reveals how Obama's massive deficit spending will cause a tidal wave of inflation which will shock the economy at some point in the near future.

Gosh, I didn't know that Dick Morris was an economist? According to Wikipedia, he isn't.

Worse, Dick reveals that Obama's health care plan will socialize American medicine despite Obama's claims otherwise and lead to rationing of critical medical procedures for almost every American.  

Of course, NewsMax doesn't mention that 20 per cent of America's Gross Domestic product (GDP) is spent on health care, twice as much of the other industrialized nations, who by the way all have public health care systems. The US is the odd man out.

Dick and co-author Eileen McGann lay out how Obama wants to change America so you won't recognize it. But they also explain how you can fight back. 

Well, the GOP might try to reunify their party first.

Dick Morris says Newsmax is "my favorite magazine."He loves us because we share the same determination to keep America safe and prosperous!  

Did he say 'prosperous' or 'preposterous.'

Oh yeah, just like that hosing we got from George W. Bush for the past eight years? Wow, I am speechless. I wouldn't even buy a used car from Dick Morris, much less a book.

Shame on Newsmax!
