A very special day

Good one, Mr. President!

Published on Aug 14, 2012 by
The president recently brought up Romney's remark that "you can't drive a car with a windmill on it."
Obama added:
I don’t know if he's actually tried that. I know he's had other things on his car.

This is a reference to Romney's dog, Seamus, who Mittens drove to Canada with the poor dog on the top of his car is a car carrier.

Once the Romneys arrived in Canada, the dog ran away.

Nate Silver's 538 blog predictions

Nate Silver is an uncannily accurate political statistician. He shows Obama winning the electoral vote as does the Huffington Post. Gallup also shows the president with a 4 point advantage today, but the electoral vote is what wins an election.

Obama also has a significant lead in the chance of winning, actually higher than the percentages in the Intrade Predictive Markets.

FL is almost too close to call when you look at the states:

Rightardian quote of the week

Bill Clinton:

Electing the Republican nominee would be "calamitous for our country and the world.

I don't think it's important to re-elect the president, I think it's essential to re-elect the president.

The politics of the absurd

“I mean, Mitt Romney comes from a Mormon background. I don’t know how many wives he has. I’m not saying that I believe in that, I’m just saying he was born on a Mormon compound. I’m not a ‘Wifer’ but for some reason he’s never shown his original marriage certificate.”

The AIPAC Puppet show

Cartoons — Israel ‘master of puppets’ in US Iran onslaught

Sheldon Adselson owns Newt, Rick Santorum is a ZION loving christo-fascist, and Mitt Romney thinks he is one of us. All are good Israel Firsters.

But what about that black guy in the middle? He needs to start singing and dancing with the other AIPAC happy dancers.

Hillary Clinton for vice president

Mario Piperni is predicting that Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden will swap jobs. Hillary will become Obama's running mate in 2012 and Biden will become Secretary of state if the Obama-Clinton team wins.

Biden has apparently wanted the Secretary of State job for years.

We like Marios's idea. It would breathe some new life in the Obama campaign.

What happened in Virginia to Newt?

First, Rightardia heard that Rick Perry failed to qualify for the Virginia Republican primary. Rick's a good ol' boy and not so bright, so we weren't  surprised. We knew that Rick is just another dumb ass from Texas.

But then we hear Newt Gingrich's petition for the Virginia primary also had irregularites and he was disqualified, too.  Keep in mind that Newt Gingrich is a Virginia home boy.

According to Republicans, Newt is the one who can debate President Obama.

Why is the GOP concerned about that? Because President Obama and Joe Biden obliterated John McCain and Sarah Palin the last presidential and vice presidential debate series.

Gingrich attacked Virginia's primary system on Saturday, saying that "only a failed system" would disqualify him. He vowed to run a write-in campaign.

Gingrich was leading Romney in VA before he was disqualified form the primary.

If Newt is the "smart" GOP candidate, that is good news for President Obama.

New Veterans Job Bank to help vets find jobs

President Obama believes that no veteran should have to fight for a job after fighting for our nation overseas. That’s why he’s introduced a host of new tools to help connect veterans to jobs in the civilian workforce, including the Veterans Job Bank, which has more than 500,000 job listings with private sector employers looking to hire vets.

To launch the Veterans Job Bank, the Obama Administration partnered with leading job search companies to create a new, easy-to-use online service that enables employers to “tag” job postings for veterans. The tool gives users the ability to search for jobs from thousands of military-friendly employers worldwide based on keyword, military occupation code (MOC) and/or location.

Nearly 3 million service members have transitioned back to civilian life, and a million more will join them over the next five years as we end the war in Iraq and wind down the war in Afghanistan. These service members have mastered skills and leadership abilities they couldn’t have learned in any ordinary classroom, and have tremendous talents to offer our nation’s businesses.Subscribe to the Rightardia feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UFPYA

AP: Obama impersonator hits too close to home for GOP

Reggie Brown got the hook at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans.

Republican organizers escorted comedian Reggie Brown from the stage after he parodied some GOP hopefuls.

He mocked both Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty and mentioned Obomneycare. That's what got him the boot.

Reggie Brown is one of the best impersonators we have seen and he would stayed on the stage at a Democratic event. Watch for him on late night TV  rounds.

Rightrardia wants to hear his version of this story.

Of course, Democrats are more tolerant. Black comedians have been using racially tinged material for years. No one should have been surprised by the material Brown was using.

Republicans need to grow a pair and stop being the thin skinned party of political correctness.

The Democrats should hire this young man to do his routine at their next convention and show America that they are the bigger party "who can take a joke."

Funny or Die: Barack Obama on 60 Minutes Talks Osama Bin Laden

Barack Obama sits down with 60 Minutes to talk about Osama Bin Laden and what exactly he did in issuing the kill order to get the reclusive terrorist in Pakistan.

Obama told the SEAL team not to read Osama his Miranda rights.

Rightardia likea this new Obama.

The difference between a chicken hawk and a bold president

This man was a former judge?

Spin, baby, spin!

The right wing had been criticizing Obama endlessly for his Middle East policies. Then Obama nails Osama Bin Laden, picking the boldest course of action, and the right wing tries to give Bush credit.

All  of the counter terrorism experts says the Bush approved "enhanced interrogation techniques," most which are called torture under the Geneva conventions, had no impact on the take down of Bin Laden.

Bush. of course, invaded Iraq first because his neo-conservatives were concerned about the Iraq threat to Israel.

Obama also said in his 2008 campaign that he thought Osama bin Laden was in Pakistan and he planned to take him out.

In July 2008, CNN's Larry King interviewed then-presidential candidate John McCain.

King asked the Republican senator, "If you were president and knew that bin Laden was in Pakistan, you know where, would you have U.S. forces go in after him?"

McCain said he would not because Pakistan was a sovereign nation.

America has a real commander in chief

He didn't have to invade a third world country to win his spurs!

It is amazing how the right wing has tried to suggest GW bush is responsible for this military success. This is just simple pettiness.

Mision Accomplished for the next president of the US

The death of Obama Bin Laden should assure the election of President Obama. So far the political comments form the Republicans have been muted and usually predicated that Bush started the effort to take out Bin Laden.

Some of Obama's biggest critics, Donald Trump, Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann, have been mute. It's hard to believe all three have been speechless.

Of course, Bush didn't get the job done, Obama did!

Day Riffer: How the hell did Obama get into those Ivy League Schools?

Donald Trump was right: How the Hell Did This President Get Into Those Ivy League Schools?

- "The dean looked over Barack's transcript and college boards and then suggested in a kindly way that he apply to some less competitive colleges in addition to Columbia."

- "There were no class rankings at his high school, but Barack never made honor roll even one term, unlike 110 boys in his class."

- "His SAT scores were 566 for the verbal part and 640 for math. Those were far below the median scores for students admitted to his class at Columbia: 668 verbal and 718 math."

- "At Columbia, Barack Obama distinguished himself primarily as a hard partier, and he managed to be detained by police twice during his university years: once for stealing a Christmas wreath as a fraternity prank and once for trying to tear down the goalposts during a football game at Princeton."

- "Obama's transcript at Columbia shows that he was a solid C student. Although a history major, he sampled widely in the social sciences and did poorly in political science and economics while achieving some of his best grades (the equivalent of a B+) in philosophy and anthropology.

The transcript indicates that in Obama's freshman year, the only year for which rankings were available, he was in the twenty-first percentile of his class—meaning that four-fifths of the students were above him.

Yet at the same time that he was earning Cs at Columbia, Obama displayed a formidable intelligence in another way. At his induction into the Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) fraternity, he and others were asked to name all fifty-four pledges in the room.

Most were were able to name only five or six. When it was Obama's turn, he named every single one. Later he rose to become president of DKE, and he was also tapped into Skull and Bones, an elite secret society to which his father had also belonged."

And then he somehow got into Harvard for graduate school.

Oh, wait.
My bad.
I made a mistake.
Please replace the reference to "high school" with "Andover."
Please replace "Columbia" with "Yale."
Please replace "Barack Obama" with "George W. Bush."
Thanks.

Firefighters Union President Shaitberger Cuts Off Federal Political Contributions Until Congressional Reps FIght Back For Workers

4/27/2011

By Doug Cunningham

International Association of Firefighters President Harold Shaitberger says the union is turning off the spigot of millions of dollars to federal candidates and federal political parties because politicians aren’t doing enough to stand up for labor in the face of intense attacks. Schaitberger says not only are extremist Republicans trying to destroy unions – but too few Democrats are standing up and fighting for firefighters and other workers.

[Shaitberger]: "This is now a coordinated and an organized effort by the far right to simply try to eliminate a significant portion of America's labor movement. Our congressional friends need to finally stand up and step out and be willing to fight back on our behalf with the same kind of commitment and focus and ferocity that the opposition - the enemy - has shown in their assault on America's workers and on our unions."

This development will have far more impact on the Democratic party. Obama has taken a luke warm approach to union that must change if he wants to win the next election.
