Editorial: It's not looking good for President Obama or the Democratic Party

First, job creation has been marginal for the past two months with 115,00 new jobs followed by 69,000 new jobs in may.

Has the GOP tried to sabotage the recovery?

Certainly. One of the Tea Parties even advised corporations to restrain hiring until after the election.

But the Obama team has made some mistakes along the way. First it compromised the legacy of the 11ath Congress on health care and spent 15 months on a program that may get gutted out by the Supreme Court.

If the individual mandate is ruled unconstitutional which is a 50-50 proposition, the Affordable Health Care Act will become insolvent due to lack of funds,

The Obama team and the 111th should have spent more time on job creation  and tax reform.

So where do the Democrats now take a stand? The Dems may lose control of the Senate but the threat of a filibuster and the 60 vote cloture rule can still lock up the government. The GOP certainly proved that.

Harry Reid has talked about changing the cloture rule, but that should have been done three years ago. Changing it now would be a very bad idea.

A Romney victory in November will probably give the GOP continued control of the House and perhaps, the Senate.

The Romney team will start talking b-partisanship and want to roll conservatives into federal courts as soon as possible,

Will the Democrats roll over?

Consider that that Bush barely won and probably the lost the election in 2000. Did that make him a less effective president?

Consider that Obama won the 2008 election hands down, but he was stonewalled by the GOP.

Should the Democrats return the favor to Mittens? Rightardia hope so. The Democrats should tie up robo-Romney for two years using the Republican model so they can take back the House if required.

Rightardia would expect Mitt to try to run the government as a CEO as he did in MA. Romney is essentially a corporate type who has never shown much political skill.

We also expect a disastrous foreign policy.

A belligerent UN ambassador like John Bolton will give the US a black eye internationally.

Romney could try to steer the US into a regional middle eastern war by supporting Israel's position on Iran. The Persian culture is six millenia old and there is no love for the US after we installed the Shah as a US proxy. The Armed Services have never been excited about attacking Iran because of the rugged terrain.

Rightardia will expect Mittens to follow the same pattern he used as MA governor and in the Salt Lake city Olympics. He will be a remote autocrat.

Traditionally, the GOP has performed well in peaceful times when the economy is solid. It is less predisposed to handle crises situations.

This is why Rightardia expects a Romney presidency to be a huge disappointment.

However, labor will suffer even more during his presidency and so will the environment. Mittens will want to approve the Keystone XL pipeline expansion that will create short term jobs, However, this initiative is primarily about exporting US oil overseas through Port Arthur, TX.

A Mittens presidency could portend the beginning of the end for the GOP.

This is provided the Democrats can make some headway against the Citizens United ruling in the courts. Citizens United has already strengthened the GOP as a  minority party.

The GOP will continue to attack public sector unions because it is an important source of political contributions for the Democratic party. This is what the Scott Walker recall was about and the Democrats lost big!

Private unions are weak and only account for 6.9 per cent of the labor force. The GOP has done an outstanding job of eliminating private sector unions with right to work laws and conservative legal tactics.

Undoubtedly, some Democrats will be disappointed with this editorial. However, Rightardia  has a realist philosophy. We are not partisan hacks.

A serious ass kicking is needed.

Who does these people think they are? The Republicans  got walloped in 2008 and launched a goal line stand against the new president.

The 112th Congress passed less than 100 bills in the past two years and went out of session with a 17 per cent overall rating.

Every vote in the Senate now requires a 60 vote cloture vote.

Do Republicans think Democrats will cooperate with them in they event they ever regain power?

Matt Tiabbi said today that Obama already has the presidency locked up and the DCCC thinks they will take back the House.

Republicans will make their last stand in the Us Senate. If the Democratic victory in 2012 is big enough, Democrats could hold onto the Senate, too.

The only thing that will bring the GOP back into the real world is a serous ass kicking and a lot of cognitive dissonance, a big word for a wake-up call.

Hillbilly Report: John Boehner caves

The GOP took back the house by unleashing the dogs: the Tea Party crazies. the Tea Partiers have become a problem for establishment Republicans like John Boehner.

The 2012 elections are facing up as President Obama v. the US congress. The US Congress ended its session with an 11 per approval rate, and a 17 per cent overall average approval rate according to Gallup.

Intrade is predicting the GOP will take the House and the Senate. Most of the 1 per centers on Bloomberg agree.

As long as the Democrats can prevent the GOP from getting 60 senators, a GOP majority in the senate should not make much difference because every vote requires 60 votes for cloture. I f you live by that sword, you can die by it.

With the decline of the Tea Party and the low congressional approval rating, the Democrats should have a fighting chance at taking the House back.

Public Policy Polling:

Raleigh, NC– Obama is in a good position to once again win the key swing state of Florida.

Obama has a bigger lead over all potential Republican opponents in 2012 than his 51-48 victory over John McCain in 2008.

Obama leads Mitt Romney by the narrow margin of 47-43 (up from 46-44 in March).

Obama achieves larger margins against all others leading Tim Pawlenty 48-40, Michele Bachmann 49-40, Herman Cain 48-37, and Sarah Palin 52-40 (52-39 in March).

Obama leads despite only luke warm approval among Florida voters. Only 48% of Floridians approve of Obama and 49% disapprove.

The unpopularity of the GOP candidates makes up for Obama’s weak numbers. This is true throughout the US.

Why the GOP should pass on the 2012 presidential election

First of all, Obama has excellent changes of being reelected president. The GOP candidates are in disarray. The Tea Partiers are still arguing with the traditional country club Republicans.

The chances of a GOP candidate being elected president is not good at all.

Second, what would a Republican president be able to do? The Republicans with their supply side economics and deregulation ideology got us into the financial mess to begin with.

Another GOP president in 2012 would be like a "fox guarding the hen house!"

The GOP would be far better off to wait until Obama fixes or for that matter 'fails to fix the economy" by 2016.

If the US economy is still in shambles then, the GOP candidate would coast to victory. Even if the Democrats fix the economy, the Republicans could still argue it is time for change.

On thing is for certain: the GOP is ill-equipped to lead the  nation is a period of crises in which flexibility is needed.

Zogby International Released: January 03, 2011

UTICA, New York - Only one Republican led hypothetical field of contenders for the Presidential nomination among Republican voters. The only Republican tested who leads President Barack Obama among all voters, while Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney are tied, a new Zogby Interactive poll finds.

Unfortunately, this mystery Republican squandered his chances during Snowpocalypse while vacationing at Disney World in Orlando while his Lt. Gov.was in Mexico.

What a difference a week can make.

Of the following, which Republican would you vote for in 2012 for President if they are on the ballot?
