Why the GOP should pass on the 2012 presidential election

First of all, Obama has excellent changes of being reelected president. The GOP candidates are in disarray. The Tea Partiers are still arguing with the traditional country club Republicans.

The chances of a GOP candidate being elected president is not good at all.

Second, what would a Republican president be able to do? The Republicans with their supply side economics and deregulation ideology got us into the financial mess to begin with.

Another GOP president in 2012 would be like a "fox guarding the hen house!"

The GOP would be far better off to wait until Obama fixes or for that matter 'fails to fix the economy" by 2016.

If the US economy is still in shambles then, the GOP candidate would coast to victory. Even if the Democrats fix the economy, the Republicans could still argue it is time for change.

On thing is for certain: the GOP is ill-equipped to lead the  nation is a period of crises in which flexibility is needed.
