A question that Republicans cannot and will not answer

Rightardia has mentioned this many times.

What states take more as recipient states form the federal government than they pay in taxes?

What states have the lowest incomes?

What states have the lowest literacy and highest high school drop out rates?

What states have high obesity rates, teen pregnancy and VD rates?

These, of course are the Red States.

Rick Perry's Quote of the Week

Texas Gov. Rick Perry spoke today at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans.

(The) Left 'Never Going to Like Us, So Let's Stop Trying to Curry Favor With Them.'

Perry is right and wrong.

First, the right has not been making much effort  to curry favor with Democrats or progressives. Right wing rhetoric is often inflammatory and this is very apparent on Talk Radio and Fox News.

In fact, Perry has talked about secession which is sedition. Who does he think he is kidding?

But he is right that those on the left have little use for backward and dated conservative ideas. Progressives have little interest in communicating with conservative on political issues because in most cases, they just lack the cognitive and moral development to "get it."

This is a reference to Lawrence Kohlbegs' Theory of Moral Development.

Is the right known for compromise? Hardly, many have a 'my way or the highway" mentality and rightards don't want to be confused with the facts.

Many right wingers are anti-intellectual and assume anything that comes out of a university, the government or a think tank is false.

Many conservatives buy into simplistic arguments that tax cuts will fix all the ails the US.

The right wing even attacks the "fact factory" Wikipedia as being left -wing.

The founder is Wikipedia, Jimmy wales is a center-right Libertairan of sorts.

Much of the impetus for right wing thinking is based on traditional conventional views and religion. For a long time fundamentalists have been trying to set up a business community that caters to like minded religious nuts. Perry is certainly one of these people. So if Rick Scott, the governor of Florida.

These leaders don't just reject progressive and liberal ideas, they often reject main stream ideas and the news if it contradicts their alternative reality.

The r ight would prefer to live in an alternative universe in which the confederates won the civil war, blacks and Hispanics are staying in their place,  gays and lesbians are suppressed, there were no labor unions, everyone goes to church, says the pledge of allegiance every day and maintains a happy face.

Sorry, but "The Leave it to Beaver" World of the 1950s is long gone!

The reality is that the Red States lag behind the other states in numerous ways: life expectancy, lower wages, higher teen pregnancy, higher venereal disease, more obesity, and lower life span. The Red States are recipient states that receive more from the federal government in taxes than they contribute.

When Rush Limbaugh talks about those 40 per cent of Americans who don't pay taxes, most of them live in the Red States.

The Red States conservative leaders extol conservative/corporate values that are hardly a model for the rest of the nation. In many respects, the Red States have pulled the rest of the nation down.

Of course, when you live in a conservative bubble, You cannot be confused with the facts.

Rick Perry certainly isn't!

The Red State Mythos--States ranked by median household income

top 20 states in median household income

Rightardia has talked about this is several articles. The right talks about food stamps, unemployment compensation and welfare. The fact is that most of the states that use food stamps, draw unemployment and have people on welfare are in the Red States. This is what eliminating regulation and unions results in.

Where are the fatest people in the US: the South. Where do most of the people live in the US who don't pay taxes? Why it is the Southland again.

Where are the donor states: the states that pay in more income tax than they take from the federal trough? That would be the NorthEast and left coast.

In fact, Rightardia pointed out that many of the fisherman on the gulf coast didn't even file taxes and thus were unable to be compensated by BP.

Where are the recipient states that lap up that federal manna and milk: the South? In fact, most of the defense bases in the US are in the Red states and these military bases pump in billions to the local economies.

Want more Proof? Here is the list of the bottom 11 US states with the lowest median household income. It corresponds closely the old Confederate States of America.

Red China provides assistance to Red states for the Gulf disaster

The Chinese have heard how the capitalist running dogs from BP did not pay the fisherman who didn't have IRS form 1040s or W2s.

The Chinese are now providing special food stamps to the hapless fisherman who forgot to file Income Tax.

It seems to be  a 'red thing."

Thia is very generous for the People's Republic of China. Tax evasion is the general term for efforts to not pay taxes by illegal means. ..... in China the punishment can be as severe as the death penalty.

Have you ever noticed how the Red States always have thier hand in federal pockets?

Louisiana is a perfect example of a Red State that has been receiving  a lot of the federal largesse. Mary Landrieu supported the Affordable Health Care Act of 2009 for a $350 million dollars in funds for her state. Florida is brrowing billions from the federal government because it forgot to raise taxes for unemployment compensation and stayed with the federal minimum during times of plenty.

Most of the military bases in the US are located in the South which pours billions into the local economies. Remember those people that Rush Limbaugh talks about who don't pay taxes. Most of them live in the Red states, too because the economies are weaker than in the Blue States and wages are lower. Most of the donor states that pay in more of federal taxes than they receive are the Blue States.
