Newsy: Romney takes the one-two punch

Mittens lost AL and MS and Simple Rick emerges at the alpha conservative dog. Newt should hit the road, but he he still looking for his "third resurrection."

Newsy and other political observers suggest Ron Paul and Mittens have a pact. We doubt that Paul would want the vice presidency. He would probably want to be Secretary of State.

If Israel thinks it has problems now, imagine Paul as Secretary of State!

It is looking like Mittens won't make it to Tampa with 1114 delegates to win. So he will have to make a deal with Simple Rick and perhaps offer the running mate position.

Would this help Mitt with his conservative base. Sure!

Would Simple Rick help mittens in the general election.

Rightardia thinks Santorum as the GOP VP candidate would make it impossible for Romney to be elected.

However, whoever gets the GOP nod, this seems like a repeat of the "Game Change" the GOP needed in 2008.

Newsy: Right winger says Girl Scouts Promote Homosexuality

In a letter to fellow lawmakers, Indiana State Rep. Bob Morris called the Girl Scouts a "radicalized organization."

This story was also featured on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night.

A lot of this right wing spin against the Girl Scouts started about a month ago when the Girl Scouts started their cookie sale drive.

Blue Gal of Driftglass wrote an article about it and produced the conservative view of the Girl Scout uniform art

Newsy: Kosher Jesus

February 8, 2012 (2:24)

"Rabbi Schmuley Boteach is best known as Michael Jackson’s unofficial rabbi and the author of relationship books like “Kosher Sex.”

But now the rabbi is back in the news for his scholarship; he just wrote a book about Jesus, called “Kosher Jesus,” that portrays the historical Jesus as an observant Jewish rabbi without messianic ambitions."

Rightardia agrees with the thesis of Rabbi Botech's book. Jesus never claimed to be divine. All of that that mystical nonsense started with the four evangelicals: Mathew, Mark, Luke and John who wrote their books at least 40 to 70 years after Jesus died.

Two Path notes:

Bible scholars believe the letters of Paul are the oldest books in the New Testament, written between 50 and 60 A.D. Mark was written around 70 A.D., about 40 years after Jesus was crucified. Matthew and Luke were written between 80 and 90 A.D. Finally, The Gospel of John appeared in its final form around 95 A.D. Bible Scholars believe Matthew and Luke incorporated much of the material from Mark into their gospels.

Newsy: Former Scientology Exec Criticizes Church for being greedy

January 4, 2012  (1:29)

Debra Cook says the secretive church's current leader is demanding too much money from members. Find out how much she says the church has amassed.

Cook had been the de facto Scientology CEO in Clearwater, FL.

Rightardia has heard that David Miscavige is a dictator who dressed his dog up as a Scientology officer and required other Scientologists to salute his dog. There are many reports of Miscavige abusing people.

We are suspicious of any organization that requires its members to wear uniforms because it smacks of fascism.

Secular human worked for a Scientology company for a short period and found most of the followers to be very right wing. Few had mainstream political views.

Newsy: GOP upset about Automatic Defense Cuts

November 28, 2011 (2:19)

The deficit reduction super committee’s failure to reach consensus is set to trigger $1.2 trillion in cuts to the federal budget. Half will be cut out of defense and the other half domestic programs.
The Republicans are talking about saving defense which got a 40 per cent increase in spending after 911 and that did not include appropriations for Iraq or Afghanistan.

The US is withdrawing from Iraq and Afghanistan will wind down in the next 5 years.

Another issue is the threat. We are trading partners with China and Russia, who  would love to sell its goods in the US. Neither country is interested in war with the US.

China spends one sixth of what the US spends on defense. Russia spends about one twelfth. Al Qaeda has been eliminated as threat, perhaps 200 of their faithful are left.

Does the US need to spend big bucks buying and fielding aircraft, tanks and ships. No, conventional war is less likely than ever. Low Intensity Conflict (LIC) and special operations seems to be the name of game.

Does the US need to be able to fight two wars at once. No, it would be better to fight one good war that we win than two that we lose. When was the last time the US actually won a war?

Oh, the DoD and the generals will whine about the cuts, but the Armed Services will always have the budget it needs in a real emergency.

Former Senator Mike Gavel said this about the United States:

The US is like a drunkard who charges to war with anyone who might pose a threat.

Phony triumphalism has turned into a device to make Americans live in fear of a terrorist attack, yet you are a thousand times more likely to catch cancer than ever be hurt by that.

For sure. Terrorism is a fact of life and the belief the US needs to spend billions to deter every possible terrorist attack is a canard. We spend about 4.7 per cent of our gross domestic product on defense and two per cent on infrastructure. China spends 9 per cent of its GDP on infrastructure.

One day history may remember the US as a bunch of war monkeys and the Chinese as builders. Hopefully we will change our ways.

Newsy: Machine Gun Santa

November 28, 2011

(1:14)
RSS Feeds

The Scottsdale, Arizona Gun Club is inviting families to pose for pictures with Santa Claus - and a high-powered firearm.

Rightardia noticed a Thompson machine gun, an AK-47, a German MG-42, a Ma Deuce .50 cal and two other machine guns we could not ID.

What is the point of this? Only a rightard would understand!

We suspect the big guns may compensate for male shortfalls in other areas.

Newsy: My kids have fascist names. So what!

U.S. News
Parents of 'Adolf Hitler' & 'Aryan Nation' Fight for Custody
October 27, 2011(1:52)

Parents want children Adolf Hitler and Aryan Nation back after they were taken away because of possible abuse and neglect.

Jezebel blogger asked: .

Does it seem odd to anyone else that the most ardent defenders of the alleged purity and strength of white people genes always have really terrible white people genes?

The parents picketed outside a New Jersey child services office on Tuesday. The next court date is scheduled for December.

Rightardia comment; It is unfortunate parents would stigmatize their children with such infamous names.

Newsy.com: Critics Hammer Hannity Interview with Controversial Imam

Multisource political news, world news, and entertainment news analysis by Newsy.com

February 8, 2011(2:40)

Sean Hannity invited controversial Imam Anjem Choudary onto his show Wednesday, but the debate quickly turned into a shouting match.
Rightardia considers Sean Hannity to be one of the biggest fascists on FoxNews next to Glen Beck.  He bullies and talks over his guests. This is hardly the first time he has done this during an interviews.

This is his mode of operation. Hannity is blinded by his own light.

Newsy.com: Top tech picks for the holiday

Multisource political news, world news, and entertainment news analysis by Newsy.com

BY ALYSSA CAVERLEY

You're watching multisource tech news from Newsy.

Tech gifts can be expensive, and always coveted around the holiday season.  But you don’t have to break the bank to get that special someone the number one gift on their list.

To help you out with your last minute holiday shopping – Newsy’s looking at some of the most popular – and low cost – holiday tech gifts.  First let’s see what people are asking for.

A correspondent for CNET’s The 404 roamed the streets asking people what tech gifts were at the top of their lists.

CORRESPONDENT – “What kind of tech gifts do you want for the holidays?”
INTERVIEWEE – “For sure the iPad 3G.”

The iPad is definitely one of the items on that list, and KHOU talked to the “high tech Texan” to see what else people have their eyes on this year.

“One of the hottest ones on the market.  It’s the flip video camera.  I mean it’s self-contained, it’s so simple, there’s no tapes.  It’s all digital.  This is perfect for kids, teenagers.”

“The other hot item this year is Kinect.  Garfield says its an add-on to the Xbox 360 that allows you to play games hands-free.”

So now that we have some of the hottest tech gifts people actually want – iSmash Phone tells us what NOT to get.  Here are some of them.

“1. Maylong M-150 at Walgreens:  This is the sub-$100 Android tablet…it’s not a very good one.  Most say it’s built very cheap and the battery lasts less than an hour on full charge.
2. Cyberclean:  This is supposed to be the best way to clean your gadgets.  It’s basically a tub of snot that you press against whatever you’re trying to clean… it gets worn out pretty fast.”

Although it’s sometimes tough to get the good quality tech gifts at lower costs, The Huffington Post has a list of some great gifts for the techie in your life that won’t break the bank.

“1. Violight cell phone sanitizer: ultraviolet sanitizing dock will zap those germs… and preserve your health.
2. iPod Shuffle:  Available at $49, Apple’s latest iPod shuffle features 2GB of storage space.
3. Roku: … starts at $59.99 and includes free access to Pandora… Twit.tv, Flickr, Facebook Photos and Vimeo.  Premium services such as Netflix… are also available for subscribers.”

Newsy is smart to have a technical journalist. Rightardia hopes to see more of Alyssa Caverly.

The U.S. and Saudia Arabia announced an arms deal worth $60 billion dollars, making it one of the largest in U.S. history.
This could affect the Russians refusal to sell the S-300 missile system to Iran and start another middle east arms race.

Rightardia suspects the Russians will react to this decision.

Newsy.com: China is the number 2 economy in the world

Rightrdia was one of the first blogs to cover this story. The Chinese wish to remain under the cover of a 'developing nation' because they will not have to comply with international treaties that apply the other industrial nations.

Although the Chinese GDP puts it in the number two position, its per capita income is that of a third world nation. The average international per capita is around $5,000. Chinese workers have per capita incomes estimated to be between $2900 and $3600.

The other ways to look at a nation's economy such as the Gross National Product (GNP). The Gross National Product (GNP) is the total dollar value of all final goods and services produced for consumption in society during a particular time.

Gross national income (GNI) comprises the total value produced within a country (i.e. its gross domestic product), together with its income received from other countries (notably interest and dividends), less similar payments made to other countries.

Newsy: Supporters Rally for Wikileaker

ppMultisource political news, world news, and entertainment news analysis by Newsy.com

August 9, 2010 (2:25)

Protesters gathered outside the military base at Quantico, Virginia in support of Bradley Manning, the private being held under suspicion of leaking military documents and videos to whistle-blowing site Wikileaks.

Rightrdia believes that Private manning broke the law, but  did not aid and abet the enemy. We have seen no evidence of that charge.

Where was the right wing when LTC Lakin refused to deploy to Afghanistan because of his birther views?

Newsy: Pelosi-Gibbs 'Feud' May Reveal Deeper Rift

After White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs alluded to a potential Republican takeover, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is trying to calm anxious lawmakers' nerves.

Rightardia thinks Gibbs should concentrate on the White House and let Fancy Nancy worry about the House of Representatives.

Apparently the Obama administration is going to help the Congress out with their campaigns after the recent meeting between Congressional and White House staffers.

Intrade shows the GOP with a 57.9 per cent chance of taking back the House.
