Newsy: Kosher Jesus

February 8, 2012 (2:24)

"Rabbi Schmuley Boteach is best known as Michael Jackson’s unofficial rabbi and the author of relationship books like “Kosher Sex.”

But now the rabbi is back in the news for his scholarship; he just wrote a book about Jesus, called “Kosher Jesus,” that portrays the historical Jesus as an observant Jewish rabbi without messianic ambitions."

Rightardia agrees with the thesis of Rabbi Botech's book. Jesus never claimed to be divine. All of that that mystical nonsense started with the four evangelicals: Mathew, Mark, Luke and John who wrote their books at least 40 to 70 years after Jesus died.

Two Path notes:

Bible scholars believe the letters of Paul are the oldest books in the New Testament, written between 50 and 60 A.D. Mark was written around 70 A.D., about 40 years after Jesus was crucified. Matthew and Luke were written between 80 and 90 A.D. Finally, The Gospel of John appeared in its final form around 95 A.D. Bible Scholars believe Matthew and Luke incorporated much of the material from Mark into their gospels.
