GOP gets a new shine boy

Franko, The Freaking news

Simple Rick started by removing all of the anti-Romney material from his web site.

Then the RNC gave him a shine boy job to help him with medical expneses for his daughter.

Simple Rick bows out

Rightardia always thought Rick Santorum didn't have a snowballs chance in hell to get the GOP nomination.

Simple Rick is the Zooey Deschanel of politics: quirky!

Santorum  did not offer an endorsement, or any mention, of Mittens.

Unfortunately, Newt Gingrich now thinks he will be able to go "mano a mano" with Mittens. With Newt's campaign in the red to the tune of about $4.5million, that seems implausible..

This is what Gallup says today about the GOP candidates. Yesterday, Gingrich didn't even register in this poll.

Rick Santorum says this will work better than aspirin

All young women between the ages of 10 and 18 will be required to wear these after Simple Rick becomes president.

Well, it could happen!

You heard it first on Rightardia and All Hat No Cattle.

Simple Rick wants a war on porn

Just what America needs: another war! Imagine what the cost would be to enforce pornography laws. After  40 years, the war on drugs has failed. Now Simple Rick wants a war on porn.

Simple Rick just can't  get real about this election. He just keeps throwing out social gambits, hoping that one will go viral with the electorate. '

Richard Nixon started the war on Drug in 1971. More than 40 years and a $ one trillion later this war is not succeeding. A war on porn could be equally as expensive.

Undoubtedly, some Homeland Security types, state and municipal law enforcement would jump on the porn enforcement bandwagon to increase their law enforcement budgets.

Cyber Warriors would be hired to break into porn industry servers and the PCs of Americans believed to be consuming illegal porn. Eventually, a task force would show up at your door to check your home PCs.

Since illegal porn is a federal crime and most states and municipalities have weak laws at best, Americans would be defending themselves in federal court, an expensive proposition.

Here is is what what posted on Simple Rick's web site today:

America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography. A wealth of research is now available demonstrating that pornography causes profound brain changes in both children and adults, resulting in widespread negative consequences. Addiction to pornography is now common for adults and even for some children. The average age of first exposure to hard-core, Internet pornography is now 11. Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking.

Every family must now be concerned about the harm from pornography. As a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture.

For many decades, the American public has actively petitioned the United States Congress for laws prohibiting distribution of hard-core adult pornography.

Congress has responded. Current federal “obscenity” laws prohibit distribution of hardcore (obscene) pornography on the Internet, on cable/satellite TV, on hotel/motel TV, in retail shops and through the mail or by common carrier. Rick Santorum believes that federal obscenity laws should be vigorously enforced. “If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so.”

The Obama Administration has turned a blind eye to those who wish to preserve our culture from the scourge of pornography and has refused to enforce obscenity laws. While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration.

I proudly support the efforts of the War on Illegal Pornography Coalition that has tirelessly fought to get federal obscenity laws enforced. That coalition is composed of 120 national, state, and local groups, including Morality in Media, Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, American Family Association, Cornerstone Family Council of New Hampshire, Pennsylvania Family Institute, Concerned Women for America, The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, and a host of other groups. Together we will prevail.

Rightardia would hope that democratic fund raisers approach companies like Vivid Entertainment and people like Larry Flynt to set up a Super PAC to fight this bad idea of the GOP.

Pornography has  $10 billion to $14 billion in annual sales.

The author, Frank Rich, suggests that pornography is bigger than any of the major league sports, perhaps bigger than Hollywood. Rich added that porn is "no longer a sideshow to the mainstream...it is the mainstream."

More enthusiasm for Gramps in 2008 than for Mittens and Simple Rick today

Conservatives have more enthusiasm for Gramps McCain in 2008 than they do now for Mittens or Simple Rick.

Note that the Mitens ratings today are almost identical to when he ran against McCain in 2008. What is ominous is that about 20 per cent of the GOP faithful plan to stay home or vote for Obama.

In the case of the Newtster, one in four would stay home or vote for Obama.

It looks like the GOP needs another "Game Change."

Perhaps they will pick better this time than they did in 2008 for VP.

Newsy: Romney takes the one-two punch

Mittens lost AL and MS and Simple Rick emerges at the alpha conservative dog. Newt should hit the road, but he he still looking for his "third resurrection."

Newsy and other political observers suggest Ron Paul and Mittens have a pact. We doubt that Paul would want the vice presidency. He would probably want to be Secretary of State.

If Israel thinks it has problems now, imagine Paul as Secretary of State!

It is looking like Mittens won't make it to Tampa with 1114 delegates to win. So he will have to make a deal with Simple Rick and perhaps offer the running mate position.

Would this help Mitt with his conservative base. Sure!

Would Simple Rick help mittens in the general election.

Rightardia thinks Santorum as the GOP VP candidate would make it impossible for Romney to be elected.

However, whoever gets the GOP nod, this seems like a repeat of the "Game Change" the GOP needed in 2008.

DU: Simple Rick make a big impression in the PR

Simple Rick tells the people of Puerto Rico they have to speak English if they want to become a state.

This man never ceases to amaze Rightardia.

There is even a poll out that says Rick can beat Obama.

Oh yeah, that could happen!

A "real conservative" can't take the presidency

Newt  Gingrich should drop out

For months now Rightardia has heard Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich claim they are the real conservatives in the GOP race for president.

Santorim is certainly a social conservative who is more focused on religion, abortion, homosexuality and contraception rather than on real issues that affect most Americans.

Newt Gingrich has southern fried credentials that will play better in the South than Simple Rick who is from Pennsylvania, which is Yankee territory.

Ron Paul's oddball libertarian conservatism appeals to many people who are younger, are racist, anti-Semitic and disenchanted with the country club mentality of the GOP. Libertarianism makes up about two per cent of the electorate so his chances are slim and none.

Does Rightardia think Paul is racist? No. we don't. He has some followers who certainly are.

Mittens is clearly more to the center than the others. Elections are on in the center, not on the lunatic fringes that Santorum, Gingrich and Paul represent.

Gingrich says that Romney is a  weak GOP candidate and "almost all conservatives are opposed to him." Newt considers Romney a " disconnected establishment figure."

What Gingrich doesn't get is that he doesn't offer a serious alternative to Romney.

RedState said this:

The buzz in Washington now is that the Republican Establishment fears Gingrich will cause them to lose the House and not get the Senate.

In other words, Newt's nomination would lead to another  Democratic sweep of the presidency, the house and the senate.

Rightardia also agrees with Rick Santorum. Gingrich should drop out because Simple Rick has emerged as the alpha male conservative.

All Gingrich's presence in the race is doing is weakening Santorum which is a big help to Mittens.

If having a conservative nominee is important to Newt, he should drop out.

Could a 'real conservative" win the election in 2012?

We don't think either Simple Rick or Newt have any chance at all.

Can you imagine Simple Rick as commander in chief?

Rick Santorum thinks since the economy is improving, the Republican candidates need to focus on Iran

Santorum  explained:

That may be the issue of the day come this fall -- a nuclear Iran. Or on the precipice of it [with] Israel potentially having to go to war to stop that development,

Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul countered:

For years, Governor Romney has been talking about the threat from the Iranian regime and offering strong policies to prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapons capability. He is the only remaining Republican candidate to offer a comprehensive foreign policy and national security strategy that paints a bold contrast with Barack Obama's naive policies of weakness and appeasement.

Rightardia thinks neither candidate has a clue on foreign policy. Romney is a Mormon who thinks he has Jewish heritage.

Contemporary Mormons use the terms "House of Israel" and "House of Joseph" to refer to themselves.

The Book of Mormon tells of families of the Tribe of Manasseh and the Tribe of Ephraim which are the sub-tribes of the House of Joseph.

Santorum is a christo-fascist who would probably be happy to herald the end of the world so Jesus can return.

Certainly one of the presidential debates will be US foreign policy. One can only imagine the subterfuge the GOP candidates will try to use to justify a regional middle eastern war that could lead to World War III.

Appeasement is a favorite term of Republicans who have never had a clear grasp of history. With the US coming out of the Great Recession, Cowboy diplomacy that leads to a regional war is not something America needs.

This a reference to British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain policies to avoid war towards Nazi Germany that have been the subject of intense debate.  Of interest, Neville Chamberlain,  was a conservative leader.

Wikipedia explains:

The word "appeasement" has been used as a synonym for weakness and even cowardice since the 1930s, and it is still used in that sense to denounce policies and behaviors that conflict with firm, often armed, action in international relations.

The real issues
  1. At what cost does the Unites states have to support a small country of 7 million people?
  2. Is Iran as a nuclear power a threat to the US? Granted, a nuclear Iran is threat to Israel, but Israel often reminds the US it is a sovereign nation.
  3. Israel wants Iran to disband it nuclear program while the Israeli nuclear program remains intact. Perhaps both countries can disarm. This option is not likely to be on the table.
  4. What is the potential for a regional war?
  5. What is the potential for a regional war that expands to World War III?
  6. What would the cost be for a war with Iran?
  7. What is the probable outcome of a war with Iran?
  8. The big issue is, of course, Palestine, an issue that Israel has not been able to come to grips with for 60 years.

PPP: MI momentum is with Simple Rick

The original lamb of God
"PPP's final poll in Michigan finds Rick Santorum holding on to the smallest of leads with 38% to 37% for Mitt Romney, 14% for Ron Paul, and 9% for Newt Gingrich.
It's always good to be cautious with one night poll numbers, but momentum seems to be swinging in Santorum's direction. Romney led with those interviewed on Sunday, but Santorum has a 39-34 advantage with folks polled on Monday. "

This result could make the Tampa GOP convention a brokered affair.

This is bad news for Mittens, but good news for President Obama.

WIN: Mittens crusin' for a bruisin' in a big labor state

2/19/2012

Michiganders vote in a Republican primary in one week and candidate Mitt Romney has made the dividing issue organized labor.

Romney has spent the last week on the stump attacking labor and very specifically the United Auto Workers.

He accused his rival former Senator Rick Santorum, of being “unapologetic” in defending organized labor pointing specifically to votes Santorum took against right-to-work legislation.

Michigan has the fifth highest rate of union workers in the country with 17.5 percent of workers members of a labor organization.

Romney has been endorsed by Gov. Rick Snyder who has used emergency financial managers to dismantle union contracts in economically struggling municipalities and school districts.

Romeny also opoosed the Obama administration loans to GM and Chyrsler.  Had both companies been forced into bankruptcy,  labor contracts would have been voided.

Instead management and labor will able to renegotiate contracts that saved thousands of jobs.

Rightradia agrees with Newt Gingrich comment that if you cannot win your home state, you are not a contender.

Father Santorum leads Romney 37% to 33% in the latest poll by Public Policy Polling (PPP). The current polls released late Sunday and Mittens has chipped away at a 15 point lead that Father Rick has at the end of Febriary.

Of course, Mittens is outspending Simple Rick by nearly a three to one margin in Michigan:

Romney war chest : $3.2 million (Romney campaign--$1.2 million; Restore Our Future Super PAC --$2 million)
Santorum money bomb: $1.1 million (Santorum--$480,000; Red, White, and Blue Super PAC Fund--$655,000)

Father Santorum implies Obama is not a Christian

According to PEW Research, Obama beats Mittens by 8 points in a general election. Independent voters favor Barack Obama over Rick Santorum by a 54% to 40% margin.

The last PEW (2/8-2/12/2012) poll that matched Obama v. Santorum showed the president with an 8 point advantage. The last Fox poll showed the president with a 12 point advantage over Simple Rick.

A quote from Father Frothy Santorum surfaced that indicated he didn't believe protestants were Christians.

Today he suggested that Obama agenda is not based on the Bible. Santorum said that White House policies were motivated by a different theology.Santorum added that Obama's agenda is:

. . . not about you. It's not about your quality of life. It's not about your jobs. It's about some phony ideal. Some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology,

Of course, government policy is not supposed to be based on any theology and the president is not a clergy man.

The White House should call Santorum out and ask him to explain his comments. He needs to explain how he thinks theology should affect government policies.

Santorum apparently sees the president as having some sort of ecclesiastical function. There is no basis for that view in the US Constitution.

Of course, Santorum's comments are intentionally abstract making a presidential  counter attack even more difficult.

President Obama is clever. It will be interesting to see how he parries with the Frothy One.

BBC: 'Are the Republican candidates all crazy?'

If you haven't read the Mike Marshall editorial, you should. With the exception of Mitt Romney and John Huntsman, "all the others are widely seen as a little kooky." Marshall quoted a long term Republican saying that a mammal should be able to beat Obama, but all the GOP candidates are reptiles.

Marshall adds:

There is absolutely no equivalent in Britain and the focus in American politics on religious views of matters sexual seems very alien.

Of course, abortion and gay marriage can be issues in the UK but they never loom over elections.

Republicans may suggest this has something to do with US "exceptionalism." Rightardia suggests it points to a nation that has too many citizens with reactionary political values. The US is not ahead of the political enlightenment curve, it is behind it.

Marshall spared Rick Simpleton who thinks that the election should be about family values: strengthening the family and forcing gays who are legally married to divorce.

Rich Lowry of the National Review said this about Simple Rick:

Santorum can come across like the Saturday Night Live version of Tim Tebow, who is so overeager when Jesus visits the Denver Broncos locker room that even his Lord and Savior asks him to “take it down a notch.” Santorum will always be a ripe political target. Few politicians, though, have his credibility as a champion of people who refuse to learn how to let go.

Lowry went on to suggest that Santorum survived the primary because he flew under the radar and was the last man left standing.

It's actually not quite that simple. Simple Rick hit all the IA counties in a pickup truck and has great political skills for a Boy Scout and is able to answer questions on a one on one basis with people who attend his rallies. His political style is similar to Obama's.

But Rick Simpleton has yet to be vetted and attacked by the other candidates. Now with his virtual tie with the Mittens android, his party is over.

Santorum has said many stupid things over the years. He will either have to recant these comments and be viewed as a flip flopper or run with them. Either way, Rightrdia  sees his candidacy as doomed. The YouTube video should make it clear why we believe this:
