Most general practice doctors want national health care

Today The Major had a consult with his general practice (GP) doctor. She is a very bright doctor who always gets right to the point.

The doctor mentioned that most GP doctors want national health care because they want to get paid. She indicated that working with numerous insurance companies is difficult and she had to double her staff to chase down insurance claims.

The insurance companies play the same game with doctors that they do with patients, often denying claims because the codes are wrong or the claim was filed too late. She indicated that Medicare and Tricare for military, military dependants and military retirees always pays.

To make matters worse, most of the insurance companies write unique policies with different corporations that have different benefits. This immensely complicates both procedures the doctor can prescribe and the claims process.

The doctor explained that Affordable health Act was just the first step toward national health care. The major agreed and pointed out that Canada has a better health care system than the US and we are tied with Cuba according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The doctor said the US has the best health care system in the world as long as you can get access.

However, the Major agreed and pointed out that nearly 50 million people don't have access and that is why the WHO has ranked the US as 47th in the world.

Obama was right. The problem with health care in the US is the insurance companies. They are unnecessary middle men who make business tough for doctors and have been denying medical care to Americans for decades.

The first step has been taken to reform the health care system. The effort must continue.

I like the cartoon of the GP with the paper work pile looking like a patient.
Can you please tell me the source of the carton or the Illustrator ?
