Zogby: Dems beat GOP in Congresional Poll

UTICA, New York - Barely one-in five likely voters approve of the job Congress is doing, according to a new Zogby Interactive survey. Broken down by party, just 25% say they approve of Republican job performance in Congress and 37% approve of the Democrats.

The Interactive survey of 2,067 likely voters was conducted from July 23-26 and has a margin of error of +/-2.2%.

The Democrat advantage over Republicans in job approval is largely due to getting better ratings among independents and because a majority of Republicans do not approve of their party's performance.

The same poll found Republicans leading Democrats, 43%-40%, on the question of which party's candidate they planned to vote for in this year's Congressional election.
