Wrong! Mitt Romney raced to denounce the idea and the Obama campaign raced to denounce the Romney denunciation. Race is definitely still an issue.

Fox News tries to spin Contraception Coverage

Ralph Reed explains to Sean Hannity how the Obama ruling on contraception will tear the social fabric apart in the case of the safety net for the poor. Of course, the ruling on insurance providing a birth control prescriptions has marginal effect on homeless shelters or food depositories for the poor.

The Catholic Church is doing a fine job of helping the poor compared to most protestant churches that provide lip service and occasional annual events , but do little else.

When GW Bush was president, he proposed turning the US welfare system over to the churches. Church leaders showed little interest in Bush's idea.

Ellen Ratner tried to make the case for birth control coverage,  but Hannity cut her off and changed the subject with an irrelevant  abstract question: Do you believe in religious freedom?

Hannity also suggested that Ratner's contention that 53 per cent of Catholic women want birth control coverage was untrue. Hannity always has to have the last word, doesn't he?

Rightardia considers Sean Hannity to be one of the biggest fascists on FoxNews next to Glen Beck.  He bullies and talks over his guests. This is hardly the first time he has done this during an interviews. 

This is his mode of operation. Hannity is blinded by his own light.

I say why isn't Iraq paying us back with oil, and paying every American family and their soldiers that lost loved ones or have injured soldiers -- and why didn't they pay for their own liberation? For the Kuwait oil minister -- how short his memory is. You know, we have every right to go in there and frankly take all their oil and make them pay for the liberation.

Hannity: Obama is "the Neville Chamberlain of our time"

Media Matters has two videos of Sean Hannity suggesting that Obama is  "the Neville Chamberlain of our time."

First, Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich Agreement in 1938, which conceded the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia to Nazi Germany. Many historians consider Chamberlain a Nazi appeaser, because Hitler invaded Poland a year later.

This is an invalid comparison and the Fox News knows it. First, Obama has not signed an accord with either Iran or North Korea to appease it.

Second, a fact that conservatives frequently forget, is that Chamberlain was a conservative. 

Third, when Russia invaded Southern Ossetia and Abkhazia, after the US armed Georgia, Gerge W. George W. Bush wisely did little more than complain about it.

Iran threatens Israeli nuclear hegemony in the middle east. The Iranians have suggested that the middle east be fee of nuclear weapons, something Israel will never agree to.

Iran is not a threat to the US and Russia has been helping to defuse the situation in Iran.

North Korea is a troublesome nation, but its big brother, China, is trying to help the US with the situation. Kim Jong Il is gravely ill and it is not clear what will happen when his son takes over the helm.

One of the Wikileak documents suggested that two Koreas may be reunited. Until the son takes over, the US should "maintain low tones."

Sean Hannity is a sword rattler who has a flawed understanding of the Middle East, Korea and history. After the conservative debacle in Iraq, he would be smart to STFU!

James O’Keefe: ‘This Is A Huge Misunderstanding’

Despite repeated efforts by Sean Hannity to get some specifics, O’Keefe declined to share any details about his arrest since he is still subject to an ongoing investigation. That’s not to say that its not a fascinating video.

Hannity and Costello: Crazy Like A Zero-Tolerance Fox

Tubby Sean Costello Hannity got nabbed on day one under the new zero-tolerance “mistake chain” edict from Fux News.  His defense?  “But-but-but…  I have always been been dumber than a bag of hammers; it’s not fair to expect anything different now.”

After a rash of mistakes and apologies over the past weeks, Fox News has sent a memo to employees announcing a new “zero tolerance” policy for on-screen errors.

FishBowlDC obtained the memo which warns mistakes could lead to written warnings, suspensions and termination.

"Error-free broadcasts”?  Isn’t that like setting the bar, oh say, in the freaking stratosphere? Isn’t that inviting someone like Keith Olbermann to bust your asses fifteen times a week?

To that end, there was a meeting this afternoon between senior managers and the folks who run the daytime shows in which expectations were reviewed, and the following were announced:

Effective immediately, there is zero tolerance for on-screen errors. Mistakes by any member of the show team that end up on air may result in immediate disciplinary action against those who played significant roles in the “mistake chain,” and those who supervise them.

So we now face a great opportunity to review and improve on our work flow and quality control efforts.  To make the most of that opportunity, effective immediately, Newsroom is going to “zero base” our newscast production.  That means we will start by going to air with only the most essential, basic, and manageable elements. 

Management also told the staff there currently are no performance enhancing drugs remotely powerful enough to improve the news people's “performance.”

To share a key quote from today’s meeting: “It is more important to get it right, than it is to get it on.”  We may then build up again slowly as deadlines and workloads allow so that we can be sure we can quality check everything before it makes air, and we never having to explain, retract, qualify, or apologize again.

Never  ever  ever never  “explain, retract, qualify, or apologize…”  Do they even know what planet they are on?

Please know that jobs are on the line here.  I can not stress that enough.  I will review again during our Monday editorial meeting, and in the days and weeks ahead. This experience should make us stronger editorially, and I encourage everyone to invest themselves one hundred and ten percent in this effort.

Wow! Fox news is establishing some professional standards. Isn't that special!

Palin Confuses Iraq And Iran In Hannity Interview

Sarah Palin picked celebrity interviewers and right-wing pundits for her book promotion tour, probably to avoid embarrassments like last year's Katie Couric interview.

But even a friendly interview can be treacherous. In a sit-down with Fox News' Sean Hannity Wednesday night, the former Alaska governor confused Iraq and Iran several times.

Asked about how to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, Palin responded by suggesting we get tough with Iraq.

"We have allies who are as concerned about Ahmadinejad's actions as we are," she said. "Cutting off the imports into Iraq, of their refined petroleum products. They're reliant ... on those imports. We have some control over there. And some of the beneficial international monetary deals that Iraq benefits from, we can start implementing some sanctions there and start really shaking things up and telling Ahmadinejad, nobody is going to stand for this."

It is hard to listen to Palin speak because she speaks in run on sentences using the progressive tense and gerunds. She needs to slow down when she speaks.

The tea party protests continued last week, as Congresswoman Michele Bachmann held an anti-health-care-reform rally on the steps of the Capitol. She estimated that 20,000-45,000 people attended the event, the Washington Post reported it was actually more like 10,000.

Initial media reports indicated the crowd size was closer to 8,000. It was all for naught because the Affordable Health Care Act of 2009 passed.

But Sean Hannity and his team did more than cover the event. They not only inflated the attendance with their words, but actually used footage from another protest this summer to make this health care rally appear bigger than it was.

Jon Stewart and his team caught this discrepancy and ran with it, pointing out neither the color of the leaves nor sky in the tacked-on video matched that of the actual event.

This is an interesting debate between Michael Moore and Sean Hannity. According to the FBI, 80 per cent of the mortgage crises was caused by the banking industry. George W. Bush also cut the FBI staff that investigated white collar crime while he was presidnet.

Yesterday I was looking at some right wing web sites and noticed that they aren't rated that highly. I have used the Netcraft toolbar for a long time because it it was one of the first to provide anit-phish warnings while browsing. It also ranks web sites.

Americablog broke the story about the RNC's new racist and sexist online game which was picked up by Politico.com and the Huffington Post.

Americablog: In the meantime, the RNC sure made it easy to amuse ourselves with its [racist/sexist] website:

The liberal website Americablog was one of the first to report on the GOP website and searched all kinds of naughty words, including bondage and escorts, which yielded suggested purchases including handcuffs, how-to-books and Astroglide.

These results suggest that Republicans may be less compter literate than Democrats.  The last election seems to have borne out this conclusion.

Fox News exhibits world class sore loser-ism over Al Franken win

Fox News personalities have repeatedly made baseless claims of fraud in the Minnesota race and claimed that there was a lack of impartiality.  Franken has been accused of "stealing" the election.

However, in its unanimous 5-0 ruling, the Minnesota Supreme Court stated that "[n]o claim of fraud in the election or during the recount was made by either party" and that "Coleman's counsel confirmed at oral argument that Coleman makes no claim of fraud on the part of either voters or election officials."

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported that experts said there was a "lack of crookedness in the election" and that Loyola Law School election law professor Rick Hasen "said the court's ruling Tuesday was so thorough that it also ruled out the possibility that either candidate -- or their lawyers -- could be accused of stealing the election." 

Fox News is suggesting otherwise. to make matters worse Fox news is challenging Al Franken's intelligence by suggesting he is "not all there and 'barely sane."
