Hitler sought a superior and pure race.

The Nazi party emphasized the family and told Germans how to raise their children.

The Nazis provided incentives to mothers to have as many children as possible regardless of whether women was married or not.

The Nazi party created an ideal mother archetype. Their objective were millions blond blue-eyed Aryans who would lead and take over Europe. 

The Nazis’ first task was to encourage families to produce as many children as possible. With a greater population, Nazi Germany could become a strong and pure nation. 

During the Weimar era, the birth rate was dropping.  In an effort to change this, the Nazis encouraged motherhood through propaganda. Mothers were esteemed as heroes, and this idea was instilled in children through books and radio programs.

German mothers were expected to produce children and 'Marriage loans' were also created for recently married couples to fund a baby. These loans were to be used as “vouchers for furniture and other household goods. The German women had to give up work to devote herself to marriage and motherhood.

In order to ensure the success of these marriage loans, there were increased taxes for single people and couples without children.

There was also the concept of the good German mother in propaganda.

We see several of these themes in the GOP today:

1. national family values
2. vouchers

3. stereotypical role of women often using a biblical basis
4. outlawing or putting severe limits abortion even in cases of rape
5. parental rights for rapists. 
6. making women pay for rape kits and forensic tests after filing rape charges
7. outlawing or restricting birth control 

The Republican concept of US exceptionalism even ties into Nazi Master Race idea.  Many Republicans believe the US is superior to other nations and has a destiny to lead the world.

The Nazis did not produce enough children and actually ran out of solders by the end of the war.  When the Red army entered Berlin, parts of it were defended by children, the Hitler Jugend. This is one of the last pictures of Der Fuhrer before he committed suicide.

Arizona Republicans Want To Force Women Workers To Prove why They’re Using Birth Control Pills

Republicans in Arizona want employers to be able to force women workers to prove they’re using birth control pills for medical reasons and not just contraception. Jesse Russell reports. 

A new Arizona bill has opponents concerned that female employees could be fired for using contraceptives. 

Majority Whip Debbie Lesko penned the bill which allows employers to ask employees to show they’re using birth control pills for specifically non-reproductive reasons. 

Opponents are concerned that an employer who opposes the use of birth control could fire women who refuse to share their medical information due to privacy concerns or are possibly using birth control to prevent pregnancies instead of for medical reasons. 

Lesko is quoted by the Arizona State Press as saying her legislation is about “the First Amendment” and she introduced it because theUnited States “is not the Soviet Union.” 

In addition to concerns over discrimination and the right to privacy opponents have also expressed that such legislation gives employers the right to impose personal religious beliefs on employees which goes against the concept of religious freedom.

RS Jaynes: the latest GOP conspiracy theory

It get worse. The GOP has been spinning an unsubstantiated claim that Sandra Fluke is a militant lesbian activist who is an advocate for sex change surgery. This has been posted on the Free Republic and a bunch of other conservative sites.

Nice try, but the damage has been done. Obama now has a 15 point advantage over Republicans with women. 

It is clear that the Democrats respect Americana women. Democrats want women to have choice on parenthood and for the insurance companies to provide birth control options to women. Nor do Democrats get hung up on a person's sexual orientation or want to peek in the bedrooms of Americans.

WIN: Republican party responsible for Feminism's Fourth Wave

The Republican party could single-handedly starting the fourth wave of feminism in the United States. On Friday, faced with legislation on both national and state levels intent on rolling back gains women have made in equality over the last century, an unprecedented number of organizations announced they would be uniting to form the HERVotes coalition. 

Fifty-one national women’s organizations are taking part “to protect the gains women have made in the workplace, health care, education and basic individual rights and to continue moving forward an equality agenda.” 

Rightardia thinks Rick Santorums's bibical views of women as men's helpers and Rush Limbaugh's attack on a Georgtown student, Sandra Fluke, have added insult to injury.

The "birth control" controversy in DC didn't help the GOP and many pundits think the GOP fell into a Democratic trap over the issue.

Watch for the GOP to have a tough time at the polls with women in 2012. The trend is already quite apparent.

Rightardia suspects Hillary Clinton will be valuable in this fourth wave movement. She has never had any patience with GOP machismo.

Rick Santorum, Secret Vatican Agent

Rick Santorum needs to register as an agent of the Vatican.

The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) of 1938, as amended, 22 U.S.C. § 611 et seq requires that agents of foreign governments register.

The purpose of FARA is to insure that the U.S. Government and the people of the United States are informed of the source of information (propaganda) and the identity of persons attempting to influence U.S. public opinion, policy, and laws.

Fox News tries to spin Contraception Coverage

Ralph Reed explains to Sean Hannity how the Obama ruling on contraception will tear the social fabric apart in the case of the safety net for the poor. Of course, the ruling on insurance providing a birth control prescriptions has marginal effect on homeless shelters or food depositories for the poor.

The Catholic Church is doing a fine job of helping the poor compared to most protestant churches that provide lip service and occasional annual events , but do little else.

When GW Bush was president, he proposed turning the US welfare system over to the churches. Church leaders showed little interest in Bush's idea.

Ellen Ratner tried to make the case for birth control coverage,  but Hannity cut her off and changed the subject with an irrelevant  abstract question: Do you believe in religious freedom?

Hannity also suggested that Ratner's contention that 53 per cent of Catholic women want birth control coverage was untrue. Hannity always has to have the last word, doesn't he?

Why Obama should not offer further compromises to the Catholic Church

The Catholic Church and conservatives will make noise about quasi-religious organizations providing birth control coverage to women. Catholic women overwhelmingly want this.

By quasi-religious, Rightardia means an institution that are staffed by people from different religions who provide services to people regardless of their religion.

Rightardia thinks the Obama administration has gotten this issue right and don't need to roll over to accommodate the shrill right wing.

PPP polling on the birth control issue

Here are the key things Public Policy Polling things found on birth control as a medical benefit:

-56% of voters generally support the birth control benefit, while 37% are opposed. Independents strongly favor it, 55/36, and a lot more Republicans (36%) support it than Democrats (20%) oppose it. Women are for it by a 63/29 margin.

-Only 39% of voters support an exemption for Catholic hospitals and universities from providing the benefit, while 57% are opposed to one.

-There is a major disconnect between the leadership of the Catholic Church and rank and file Catholic voters on this issue.

NMA: Obama vs. the Catholic Church

President Barack Obama has upset Catholics. He wants Catholic groups to pay for contraceptives and abortions as part of employee healthcare.

Catholic and other religious leaders see this as an attack on First Amendment freedoms.
Obama in 2009 had promised Catholics a “conscience clause.”

What is Obama thinking? Obama won the Catholic vote in 2008, and Catholics are a huge force in swing states in 2012.

Does Obama thinks his pro-choice allies will overpower the Catholic Church, or has he made a massive political miscalculation?

Rightardia thinks the Catholic Church is upset, but suspects most Catholic women are pleased by the ruling. Most cathodic women practice birth control regardless of the Roman Catholic church's position on that subject.
