Washington Whispers: They 'break" presidents, don't they?

The term "breaking" has been used with horses and slaves.

It was Willie Lynch, a white plantation owner, who developed procedures to break black men and turn them into slaves.

The document called the Willie Lynch Doctrine was distributed to other plantation owners and politicians in the United States. The documents instructed them on how to transform a man into a slave.

Willie Lynch was mysterious 18th century business man considered to be an expert slave handler. 

The term "Lynching" originally referred to the hanging of a black man and was named after Lynch who acted as a consultant to the wealthy plantation owners, many of  who were also the politicians of the time in the US.

Lynch developed the process of breaking a slave, a technique for taming and subduing a man to behave like a slave. The process was similar to that of taming a wild horse.

The process made it easier to control the man and his family physically. In the end black women would raise her children to eat out of the slave masters hands, just as a horse does.

If the process was done correctly it would create an endless supply of cheap labor.

The doctrine uses the basic principles of brainwashing and mind control which are still used today in armed conflicts such as in the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Lindsey Graham admitted shortly after the 2008 elections during a private meeting  with Sen. Jeff Bingaman that "the decision's already been made to bring Obama down on health care."

This Republican strategy didn't become fully apparent until mid-2009, writes Russ Feingold, when Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina came right out in public and said,

If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.

Feingold has written a book, "While America Sleeps," which will be published at the end of February. The book describes the GOP plan to "break" Obama.

Rep. Allen West calls for blacks to get off of the plantation

Blacks voted Republican until the Great Depression until the realized the GOP has no interest in helping them. Blacks also know when there is a downturn in the economy that affects the white "majority,"it creates a disaster in the black community.

Does West really think blacks will get of of the plantation by voting for Republicans?

It's conservatives that put blacks on the plantations to begin with. It 's the Democratic Party that has tried to correct this social injustice ever since.

Alexis de Toqueville wrote about the US in the 1830s has been called a prophet because he anticipated the Civil War. 


Tocqueville denounced American slavery, saying “the laws of humanity have been totally perverted.” 


He predicted blacks and whites would have a tough time getting along after the abolition of slavery.  Yet he was confident that blacks could do fine if they were truly liberated: 


As long as the Negro remains a slave, he may be kept in a condition not far removed from that of the brutes; but with his liberty he cannot but acquire a degree of instruction that will enable him to appreciate his misfortunes and to discern a remedy for them.

Anniversary of the Civil War is no cause to celebrate

EJ Dionne wrote and excellent editorial about the Civil War entitled "Don’t Spin the Civil War." 

Rightardia read the editorial in the St. Petersburg Times and LtSaloon also picked it up. Dionne addresses the cause of the Civil War which was the containment of slavery in the Old South.

This year will be the 150th anniversary of this terrible war in which 618,000 Americans died.

James McPherson, a civil War historian  has noted that Confederate President Jefferson Davis, a major slaveholder, “justified secession in 1861 as an act of self-defense against the incoming Lincoln administration.” Davis said:

Abraham Lincoln’s policy of excluding slavery from the territories would make “property in slaves so insecure as to be comparatively worthless . . . thereby annihilating in effect property worth thousands of millions of dollars.

The big concern of Southerners was that slavery would not be extended in to the new territories that the US was purchasing or annexing. Lincoln never said that he planned to abolish slavery. His strategy was to contain it.

However, as the Union forces advanced into the Southland, Lincoln abolished slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 to quicken the end of the war. 

The vice president of the confederacy, Alexander H. Stephens said this on March 21, 1861 in Savannah, Georgia during his Cornerstone Speech:

African slavery as it exists amongst us the proper status of the negro in our form of civilization. This was the immediate cause of the late rupture and present revolution. Jefferson in his forecast, had anticipated this, as the "rock upon which the old Union would split." He was right . . .

Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea; its foundations are laid, its corner- stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition . . .

With us, all of the white race, however high or low, rich or poor, are equal in the eye of the law. Not so with the negro. Subordination is his place. He, by nature, or by the curse against Canaan, is fitted for that condition which he occupies in our system . . .

We hear much of the civilization and Christianization of the barbarous tribes of Africa. In my judgment, those ends will never be attained, but by first teaching them the lesson taught to Adam, that "in the sweat of his brow he should eat his bread," and teaching them to work, and feed, and clothe themselves . . .
 
Jefferson Davis didn't start talking about State's Rights until after the Civil War ended. Of interest, the CSA Constitution had the same federal supremacy clause that the US constitution contains.

Alexis de Tocqueville commented on slavery in the United States in 1835.

When I contemplate the condition of the South, I can discover only two modes of action for the white inhabitants of those States: namely, either to emancipate the Negroes and to intermingle with them, or, remaining isolated from them, to keep them in slavery as long as possible . . .

All intermediate measures seem to me likely to terminate, and that shortly, in the most horrible of civil wars . . .

The ancients kept the bodies of their slaves in bondage, but placed no restraint upon the mind and no check upon education; and they acted consistently with their established principle, since a natural termination of slavery then existed, and one day or other the slave might be set free and become the equal of his master. 

But the Americans of the South, who do not admit that the Negroes can ever be commingled with themselves, have forbidden them, under severe penalties, to be taught to read or write; and as they will not raise them to their own level, they sink them as nearly as possible to that of the brutes.

We agree with EJ Dione. We hope the GOP will be smart enough to avoid spinning he 150th anniversary of that terrible war. The historians will be waiting for them with their long knives if Republicans try to bull shit about the real causes of the Civil War.

Rightardia provides help to Birthers

The Birthers have not done well in court and have been defeated 12 times in a row.

Hard as they try, the Birthers cannot convince the courts that Obama is not a US citizen.

The Birthers need to sit down, take a deep breath and develop a new approach.

It is quite clear that the Founders never intended for a black person to be president.

Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution states:

Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.  

In other words, black people only counted as 3/5th of a person. it is obvious the founders only wanted a whole person to run for the office of president.

It is therefore clear that it was the original intent of the Founders that a black person could never be president.  Otherwise, the Founders would have given blacks the other two fifths to make them complete.

Since Obama is only 3/5ths of a person, he is ineligible to serve as president.

Glen Beck has the Mother of all WTFs!

The President is exactly right when he said ’slaves sitting around the campfire didn’t know when slavery was going to end, but they knew that it would. And it took a long time to end slavery.’ yes it did. But it also took a long time to start slavery.

And it started small, and it started with seemingly innocent ideas. And then a little court order here, and a court order there and a little regulation here and a little more regulation there. And before we knew it, America had slavery.

It didn’t come over in a ship to begin with, as an evil slave trade. The government began to regulate things because the people needed answers and needed solutions.

It started in a court room then it went to the legislatures. That’s how slavery began. And it took a long time to enslave an entire race of people, and convince another race of people that they were somehow or another, less than them. But it can be done.

I would ask you to decide, are we freeing slaves? Or are we creating slaves? That’s a question that must be answered.

Glen Beck is a complete ignoramus. Slavery started in the South in the pre-colonial period when there was hardly any government regulation at all.

This is what Alexis de Tocqueville said about Slavery in the United States in 1835:

The legislation of the Southern states with regard to slaves presents at the present day such unparalleled atrocities as suffice to show that the laws of humanity have been totally perverted, and to betray the desperate position of the community in which that legislation has been promulgated.

Secular Sunday School: Jesus Freak makes Bibical slavery cartoon

The Old Testament is a goldmine for atheists. Whenever you hear Christians hold forth on how we would lose our morals if we didn't have the Bible, you can pull out one of the goodies from the 2,500 year old tome and watch the believer tie himself into knots trying to explain why that particular part of the Word of God can be safely ignored.

Of course, there are some brave Christians who are willing to stand up for the Old Testament morality. YouTuber Jesusfreak777 made a attempt to explain why slavery, as supported by the God of Abraham or Yahweh, was a good thing because the Israelites were 'spreading the word of God to the wicked.'

However, the Israelites were also on the receiving end of slavery. The Bible was written when the Babylonians defeated Israel and marched Israelites they captured into slavery in Babylon. Babylon is where the Jewish scribes wrote down their oral history we call the Old Testament today.

Senate Backs Apology for Slavery

Editor's Note:This resolution has been long overdue. Generally, I worry when politics is focused on symbolic issues like this, but slavery was a historical error in US history.

The Senate unanimously passed a resolution that apologized for slavery, making way for a joint senate and congressional resolution. It is the latest attempt by the federal government to take responsibility for 2 1/2 centuries of slavery and is long overdue

"You wonder why we didn't do it 100 years ago," Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), lead sponsor of the resolution, said after unanimous vote. "It is important to have a collective response to a collective injustice." The Senate resolution specifies that it cannot be used in reparations cases

The Senate's apology follows a similar apology passed last year by the House. One key difference is that the Senate version explicitly deals with the long-standing issue of whether the descendants of slaves are entitled to reparations. The House is expected to resolve its resolution with the Senate version.

Harkin called the vote an "important and significant milestone." He wanted the resolution passed yesterday to closely coincide with Juneteenth, a holiday first celebrated by former slaves to mark their emancipation by Abraham Lincoln.
