Of interest, the famous pink triangle was worn by gay men in the Nazi concentration camps.

In contrast lesbian women wore a black triangle. This was a badge used in Nazi concentration camps to mark prisoners as "asocial" or "arbeitsscheu" (work-shy).

Who will rescue America?

Could the Republicans win the presidency and the House. Certainly!

The GOP also has a good shot at the Senate, perhaps even better shot than they have at retaining the house.  This could be a complete reversal from 2008.

The Citizens United Ruling will make it easier for corporations to outspend the Democratic Party.

American unions are weak with only 6.9 per cent of the public labor force in unions. Of course, when Democrats get elected, the Democratic Party does little to strengthen unions.

When Republicans gain power is states, they pass 'right to work" laws that weaken unions.

A Romney win could have numerous consequences:

1.  The US will become embroiled in another middle eastern war
2. The GOP majority on the Supreme Court will be strengthened as more liberals retire. 
3.  Wall Street will remain unregulated. 
4. The American Labor movement that is already on it knees could be headed toward extinction.

Rightardia thought that Barack Obama was the one that could straighten away America. He oversold himself and perhaps many progressives expected too much.

The only good news is that we are certain a GOP majority will make another huge mess of things with their unfaltering belief in their 19th century philosophy and militarism.

Will the Democrats cooperate with a Republican president when the GOP would not?

Rightrdia hopes not, but Democrats are notorious for rolling over. Perhaps the Democrats will learn something by playing hardball as a minority party if they can't pull the House, Senate or presidency out of the fire..

RS Jaynes is correct about the Nazis. They took over the government when the German economy was in dire straits.

The US economy is in a far better situation than the European, but Obama and the Democrats seem to have gotten little credit for their work.

Rightrdia couldn't agree more that the Holocaust needs to be laid to rest in the US, too. The Holocaust has become a grim national Jewish holiday in the US.

Many Americans only dimly understand the lead up to World War 2. Republicans are trying to portray the Nazis as socialists, while the Nazis were really closer to right wing fascists.

The entire Nazi movement was a reaction to Russian communism, another failed ideological political solution.

Do we really need to dredge this up every year?

Fascism is no stranger to Pamella Geller

Pamela Geller is an American blogger, author, political activist, and commentator. She is known primarily for her criticisms of Islam and opposition to Muslim activities and causes. She started a movement against the proposed construction of an Islamic community center near the former site of the World Trade Center. 


She has described her blogging and campaigns in the United States as being against what she terms "creeping Sharia" in the country. 

Geller and Robert Spencer co-founded Stop Islamization of America. iin May 2010, they began a campaign against the proposed Park51 Islamic community center and mosque. Geller calls this mosgue the "Ground Zero Mega Mosque".

Geller claims that Park51 is viewed by Muslims as a "triumphal" monument built on "conquered land".

German town removes neo-Nazi shrine

The remains of Rudolph Hess, Adolph Hitler's former deputy, have been exhumed from a grave in the small Bavarian town of Wunsiedal. The town people got tired of the neo-Nazis who tuned the grave site into a shrine.

Few  well-known Nazi grave sites remain in Germany. The Red Army disposed of Adolf Hitler's remains after Berlin was captured.

Hess realized the war was failing and parachuted into Scotland into 1941 for a peace mission. He was arrested and spent the remainder of his life in Spandau prison after the war.

Hess had transcribed most of Mein Kampf for Hitler when both were imprisoned after the beer hall putsch,

Hess' headstone, which was also destroyed, contained the epitaph "Ich hab's gewagt" ("I dared"),

Rightardia doesn't know if this refers to his mission to Scotland or his rise to power in the Nazi party. We hope it is the former.

However, a Sun Sentinel article suggests it may be the latter:

To his last breath he never showed a trace of remorse, insisting that Hitler was the greatest son Germany ever produced and that, if he had it to do all over again, he wouldn`t change a thing.

Right wing violence is a myth

We all know the right wingers are a peaceful lot. None of them are militants who want to make the US into a new confederacy based on Christian Sharia, "The Way." .

None of them would ever use their Second Amendment rights as a basis to overthrow the government of the US, or would they?

What about the Hutaree 9 and a Tea Party congressional candidate who liked to play war games with an SS uniform on?

These Hutaree suspects are linked to a violent Christian militia in America have been charged with plotting to kill a police officer, and also plotted to murder other officers at his funeral.

The Hutaree insignia includes the letters "CCR" which stand for "Colonial Christian Republic."


Hutaree members use a unique system of paramilitary ranks with titles from highest to lowest: Radok, Boramander, Zulif, Arkon, Rifleman (three grades), Lukore, and Gunner (three grades).


University of Pennsylvania linguistics professor Mark Liberman commented:

I don't see basis in biblical or military history for Radok, Boramander, Zulif, Arkon, and Lukore. They sound kind of like Pokémon names (e.g. Arbok, Charmander, Zubat), but there's no precedent there, either.

One man who once contemplated joining the group, a Mr. Savino, was refused admission due to his being a Muslim.

Savino later provided information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) which appears to have assisted them in capturing the last indicted Hutaree at large, Joshua Stone.

Iott is the third person from the left. 

Then there is Rich Iott, the Tea Party candidate who liked to dress up an an SS officer. John Boehner campaigned with this rightard and even contributed money to his campaign. Fortunately Marcy Kaptur beat the neo-Nazi in the the general election once Iott's Nazi sympathies went public.

Rightardia knows these graphics are photoshopped, but we make no distinction between the corporatist Tea party candidates and plain old ordinary fascists. 

 

When a photo of Ohio congressional candidate Rich Iott showed up this week in a Nazi uniform, other pictures like the one above began blitzkreiging around the internet, showing various Tea Party candidates reveling in the uniforms of the most despised military thugs in human history.  

That’s noted homophobe, Crazy Carl Paladino, with candidates Joe Miller, Rand Paul, and Sharron Angle, all resplendent in cheap Nazi drag.* 

Some borderline sentients think dressing up like Nazis is just good fun.  And nobody has more fun in the run-up to the midterms than the Republican Tea Party.  

But just because you actually play dress-up in a repulsive uniform it won’t bestow the qualities of genuine leadership upon you.

It would seem the American electorate is suddenly confronted with a stunted bumper crop of bona fide lunatics.  But the climb out of the evolutionary slime is always long and arduous, especially for the least qualified among us. 

And the emergence of more than a half-dozen spectacularly unqualified candidates who’ve swallowed the stupidi-tea of the disaffected right has been festering towards political power since Ronald Reagan was a tiny little troglodyte.

Alaska’s Joe Miller renders the stiffy salute, along with bunker mates Sharron Angle, Colorado’s Ken Buck, and crazy Carl.  The picture has garnered attention because it has been doctored to appear “historical,” and gets bonus crazy rating because all the candidates are wearing cute little Hitler mustaches.  Note the Republican Tea Party flag— “Liberals” are the new Jews.

The age-long struggle of the human race towards a modicum of planetary enlightenment is inextricably linked with spiritual progress.  It’s completely understandable that the surviving traditionalists and “conservative” dregs of a disappearing past would fight for their right to ignore change, remain the same, and try to drag mankind down the ideological hole in the dark they live in.

It’s not going to happen of course, progress is inexorable. But the battle will be protracted, brutal, and fitfully bloody, and will defy logic, fact, and reason at every turn.  

The ultimate consequences of allowing large numbers of our citizens to remain uneducated and brain-washed by a 24/7 propaganda tool of greedy corporate overlords must be a price we’re willing to pay;  for if we don’t, the uniforms we’ll be forced to wear won’t look anything like the snappy monkey suits of the Republican Tea Party SS.

*Well, except for Miller. I dunno WTF he’s wearing.

Jason Jones sat down with Defend the Family President Scott Lively to talk about the much-debated topic. In his biography Lively describes himself as "one of the most knowledgeable and articulate opponents of the homosexual agenda in America".

While many oppose gays in the military because of a moral stance, Lively's reason for restricting gays is that the Nazis, including Hitler, were gay themselves, and used gay men in their armies because "open homosexuals are distinct from everyone else, men and women, in being exceptionally brutal and savage." 

Jones found this unbelievable, but Lively continued to support his claims with "evidence" that not only was Adolf Hitler a homosexual, but that the Nazis used to have meetings in gay bars.

Jones had to know - what is it about being gay that makes people as "vicious" as this man was baselessly claiming?

After checking with historian Prof. Dagmar Herzog, who pointed out that the Nazis specifically persecuted homosexuals, Jones confronted Lively with the facts.

When Lively simply argued that Nazis persecuted homosexuals to "distract public attention away from their homosexuality," Jones had the perfect opportunity to point out the holes in Lively's theory:

"So, that which you hate the most, you secretly are?" To which Lively responded: "I'm not gay."

Wikipedia indicates gay men suffered unusually cruel treatment in the concentration camps. They faced persecution not only from German soldiers but also from other prisoners, and many gay men were beaten to death.


Additionally, gay men in forced labor camps routinely received more grueling and dangerous work assignments than other non-Jewish inmates, under the policy of "Extermination Through Work".


SS soldiers also were known to use gay men for target practice, aiming their weapons at the pink triangles their human targets were forced to wear.


Lesbians were classified differently as 'anti-socials' and are believed to have worn black triangles in the jails and concentration camps.

Skinhead criminal wants Nazi tatoos removed before he goes to prison

Daniel Cowart, who plead guilty to 8 federal charges, including a plot to assassinate President Barack Obama and over 100 black people, has requested that he be moved to a county jail in Tennessee to undergo tattoo alterations before he is sent to federal prison, reports to The Jackson Sun. Cowart also wants the feds to pay for the surgery.

The 21-year-old has a tattoo of an iron cross on his chest, as well as a swastika tattooed on his shoulder and is worried that they will draw the unwanted attention of other inmates while he is incarcerated.

The U.S. Marshals Service has objected to Cowart's request for the cosmetic procedure, arguing that it would set an unwelcome precedent.

Reports the Sun:

In their response, they said, "The Marshals Service is wary of setting a precedent whereby they are obligated to devote substantial resources to transporting and escorting inmates between facilities for the purposes of voluntary cosmetic surgery."

Cowart and co-conspirator Paul Schlesselman, who have been labeled as white supremacist skinheads by federal investigators, were arrested in 2008 after law enforcement officials uncovered their plot to travel cross-country and carry out numerous robberies and killings targeting black people.

They pair were found with illegal firearms and ammunition when they were taken into custody in Arkansas, and were subsequently charged with attempting to bring them across state lines for the purpose of committing a felony.

Cowart, who will be sentenced on Aug. 13, is looking at 12-18 years in a federal prison, while Schlesselman was sentenced to 10 years.

RT: Jail for rehabilitation of Nazism

A draft law imposing criminal liability of up to five years behind bars for the rehabilitation of Nazism. The law has been submitted to the State Duma by a group of MPs from the ruling United Russia party.

As Russia is preparing to celebrate the 65th anniversary of victory in WWII on Victory Day (May 9th), the deputies are determined to combat any attempts of historical revisionism.

The parliamentarians, headed by the speaker of the house Boris Gryzlov, suggested amendments to the country’s penal law. The idea is to include a new article – “The Rehabilitation of Nazism” – into Russia’s Criminal Code.

That would mean that anyone who publicly approves or denies Nazi war crimes determined by the Nuremberg Trials would be fined for up to 300,000 roubles (US$10,000) or imprisoned for up to three years.

Moreover, if such an offense is committed by a person using one’s official position or mass media, the punishment will be even harsher: up to half a million roubles in fines or up to five years in jail.

“We believe it is necessary to include such a rule into the Criminal Code,” said United Russia deputy Irina Yarovaya, as published on the party’s official website. “There is no doubt that the Nuremberg Trials’ decisions were made based on the results of the Second World War and by the participants of the events.”

The entire international community condemned the war crimes committed during the years of WWII.

“We believe it is unacceptable if today politicians or any other figures attempted to distort history, rewrite the past, trying to change the future that way,” the deputy said. “We think that is the least the deputies could do in order to protect the historic truth, and honor and dignity of a Soviet soldier-liberator.”

In the explanatory letter submitted with the draft, RIA Novosti writes, the MPs – citing Article 107 of the UN Charter – stated that revaluation of the International Tribunal decisions by giving approval to the Nazi policies or by denying the Nazi crimes is an international crime itself.

The draft submitted on Tuesday is the second version of the law, since the first one did not get the government’s approval.

Rightardia comment:  This is a good idea. Russia should also take a look at US hate crimes legislation. The US needs a law to stop the rehabilitation of the Confederacy as well.

George W. Bush 's Triumph of the Will

On May 1, 2003, Bush became the first sitting President to make an arrested landing in a fixed-wing aircraft on an aircraft carrier when on the USS Abraham Lincoln in a Lockheed S-3 Viking, dubbed Navy One. The carrier had returned from combat operations in the Persian Gulf.

He posed for photographs with pilots and members of the ship's crew while wearing a flight suit. A few hours later, he gave a speech announcing the end of major combat operations in the Iraq War. Clearly visible in the background was a banner stating "Mission Accomplished."

Bush's historic jet landing on the carrier was criticized by opponents as an overly theatrical and expensive stunt. For instance, they pointed to the fact that the carrier was within range of Bush's helicopter, and that a jet landing was unnecessary.

Originally the White House had stated that the carrier was too far off the California coast for a helicopter landing and a jet would be needed to reach it. On the day of the speech, the Lincoln was only 30 miles (48 km) from shore but the administration still decided to go ahead with the jet landing.

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer admitted that the president "could have helicoptered," but the plan was already in place. Plus, he wanted to see a landing the way aviators see a landing.

This theatrical event was inspired by the German propaganda film, Triumph des Willens.  In this film we also have a famous leader descend from the heavens in 1934. He though his mission was accomplished, too, but history had a different fate for him. Watch the intro from the movie. The parallels are striking:

Czech officers caught wearing Nazi symbols in Afghanistan

Rightardia thinks some of this relates to the break up of the Warsaw pact and the desire of some of the former client states to insult the Russians. There have been some unfortunate fascist incidents in the Baltic States, the Czech Republic and the Ukraine. A mayor of a Romanian town and his son even dressed as Nazis in a fashion show.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of Security and Cooperation (OSCE) in Europe has passed a resolution equating the roles of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in starting World War II. This is historical revisionism because the Germans clearly started World War 2 and turned East after failing to conquer the UK. 

The SS was a particularly heinous organisation because it implemented the Final Solution by exterminating Jews as the German Wehrmacht moved into Eastern Europe.

Two commanders of the Czech rapid reaction brigade are facing disciplinary actions.  Reports surfaced that they had Nazi symbols on their helmets during their deployment in Afghanistan.

The news, which caused quite a stir among the country’s armed forces, came from the Mlada fronta Dnes daily.

According to the paper, soldiers Hynek Matonoha and Jan Cermak wore the symbols of the 9th SS panzer division Hohenstaufen and the SS Dirlewanger brigade respectively. These units were probably the most infamous SS combat units of World War Two.

Cermak said he used the SS symbol simply because it consists of a sword and an "H", the first letter of his name Honza, which is the colloquial form of Jan.
"It was just a joke and I am very sorry about it," Cermak told MfD, adding that he didn’t know it was a Nazi symbol.

But a specialist in extremism, Michal Mazel, doesn’t believe such an excuse.
"He is an elite troop who graduated from university, he is no teenager. The SS symbols on their helmets show a totally perverse view of the world of the NATO elite troops," Mazel said.

Meanwhile, Matonoha failed to offer any excuse for his actions.
Unaware of the men’s helmets, Czech Defense Minister Martin Bartak and chief-of-staff Vlastimil Picek decorated them for bravery on Friday after their return from Afghanistan.

However, the story was made public after Czech police serving in Afghanistan reported the case.

Both soldiers were immediately suspended. Defense Minister Bartak said the soldiers’ alleged actions were ``unacceptable''. The soldiers' commander was also suspended for reportedly trying to hush up the case.

Petr Prochazka, the commander of the Czech contingent in Logar, Afghanistan, ordered that the controversial covers of the helmets, as well as any photographs showing them, be burnt, but failed to punish the perpetrators.

Former member of the European parliament Giulietto Chiesa, says attempts to rehabilitate the Nazis are worrying:

“The main question I’m worried about is that this kind of sentiment is growing, and in some places in Europe these kinds of ideas are very much encouraged by the government,” he told RT.

Politics Daily: Another Bone-Headed Baptist Moment

I wanted to ignore it, and held out for more than a month. I didn't talk about it. I didn't think about it. I went to Texas, attended church with my relatives twice, talked with my Pentecostal cousin about nationalized health care, talked to my aunts about God's will, heard lots of Bible quoting, even did some myself, and never once considered bringing it up.

Whew! Over the hump, I thought. Never again to be riled by Southern Baptist idiocy, I'm free at last.

A little while later Richard Land, head of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, apologized for having compared national health care to "what the Nazis did."

I congratulated myself. I'd refused to be baited. I'd spared myself upset and had been wise to do so. Everyone makes mistakes. I've known Land a long time. Been bawled out by him a time or two. Had some good discussions. Land's a smart guy. He got carried away and he's really sorry, I told myself.

I was happy that Richard Land had been big enough to say he was sorry. Proud of myself for resisting my usual pique.

And then he did it again. He snuck off and started saying that . . . stuff.

What I think or don't think doesn't mean diddly squat to Richard Land or any other Southern Baptist of his ilk. And what he thinks ought not to mean any more to me.

But Lord help me, how can such a smart man be so absurd? This is a guy who went to Princeton . He's no rube.

So, okay, educated fools are nothing new, and people who will say anything to keep power are nothing new either. But he's saying things he knows to be complete fabrications. He's doing it in the name of Jesus. And he's trying to lead people who really do want to be like Jesus in a devilish direction.

Nothing new there either. I just wish I didn't get so riled up about it.

The Baptist Center for Ethics Web site, EthicsDaily.com, which helped disseminate Land's comments, only gave him more publicity. And in my piddly way, I'm doing the same. But something good has come out of it. A coalition of Christians, Muslims and Jews has come up with a good idea. Maybe it will cool my jets.

Noting several recent examples of political partisans trying to tar their opponents by casting them as Nazi-like, these religious leaders have called for a moratorium on all Nazi comparisons. Nobody can enforce such a ban, and I hope no one would want to.

But the rest of us ought to just dismiss all such comparisons as demagoguery – no matter who uses them. No matter what they're saying, we ought to shrug and turn away. Whether they're liberals or conservatives, such rabble-rousing is vicious. It demeans the memory of those who died in the Holocaust. It trivializes real horrors in the pursuit of political gain.

Not only are Land's comments right wing rhetoric, they are factually incorrect. Germany was one of the first countries to have a national health care ystem. Otto Von Bismarck established the German health care system in the 1880's. By the way, Bismarck was a conservative.

The useful idiots of the right wing

It's very clear the right either doesn't understand modem world history or the are denying the reality that the Nazis and their fascist brothers were right wingers.

The term 'National Socialist' is an oxymoron because the Nazis were nationalists and German supremacists. They eliminated the socialist and intellectual part of the party, the SA, during 'The Night of the Long Knives.' Socialism is an international movement that has never embraced racial supremacy.

Clearly the Birthers, the Deathers, the Astroturfers and the Tea Baggers are acting like fascists and many on the far right like the 'ditto heads' are true fascists. Noam Chomsky has pointed out in his his books that at the US has taken over the role or the right wing super power after the Germans were defeated in World War 2. This explains the GOP priority on national defense that has morphed into pre-emptive war that is identical th the Nazi blitzkriegs in WW2. The suspension of habeas corpus, torture, secret prisons, manipulation of the judicial system and death squads are all features of fascism.

Spain cracks down on neo-Nazis and skinheads

Spain's “inadequacy” in deterring racism has been blamed for rising xenophobic attacks. Will the recent first-ever sentencing of neo-Nazis mean a new intolerance to racism? Or is it just a feeble stab to appease critics?

It has been regarded as a radical breakthrough in Spain's fight against racism, intolerance and xenophobia. The recent sentencing of a neo-Nazi gang known as Hammerskin is the first of its kind and has been welcomed by many as a fundamental achievement in Spain.

The Madrid Provincial Court declared the Hammerskin gang to be illegal and sentenced 15 of its members to between 18- and 30-month prison terms for illegal association, possession of illegal arms and espousing Nazi philosophies.

Spain has for years been home to much racially-motivated abuse from both far-right extremists as well as less radical racist individuals. But the country's seemingly tolerant attitude towards the problem, coupled with the Government's apparent indifference, as evidenced by inadequate formalities and punishments, have been criticized nearly as much as the perpetrators of racist acts themselves.

Throughout this decade, Spain has been involved in many violent incidents involving neo-Nazi gangs. In 2004, two soldiers, members of the fascist Social Republican Movement, were arrested for beating up and stabbing a homeless person in Madrid.

Several months later, a group known as The Black Front, which also championed Nazi ideologies, was arrested by police in Barcelona for attacking Muslim mosques and businesses. In 2007, a group of Hell’s Angels was arrested for illicit association.

Neo-Nazi material was amongst the items seized by police. According to El Rincon del Vago website, there are at least 14 neo-Nazi groups acting in Madrid alone, and Spain has the largest number of Nazi movements in Europe. Despite Spain's neo-Nazi European dominance and the frequent disputes between gangs and authorities it inevitably causes, up until the recent sentencing of the Hammerskin gang, extreme fascist groups in Spain have never been declared illegal.

While the illegal declaration of the neo-Nazi gang for inciting violence has been fundamentally approved of, some believe the sentences given were not harsh enough and reveal the Spanish Government's arguably “trivial” attitude towards racism and the inconsistency of penalties.

Estaban Ibarra, president for the Movement Against Intolerance in Spain, however, welcomes the Court's decision and sees it as an important progression in the battle against racism. Ibarra told Europa Press:

“We are happy with the sentencing. It is a step forward in the fight against racism, xenophobia and intolerance.”

Although the gang's leader has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison, the prosecution was asking for much longer prison terms of between three and six years, and some believe the criminals “got off lightly”.

Alfredo Garcia Lopez is among those who does not see the “Hammerskin ruling” as a victory in Spain's fight against racism, but rather as a weak attempt to satisfy the critics. The 58-year-old from Madrid told RT:

“I have seen the terror these fascist gangs can put people through and it is getting worse and worse in Madrid. 18 to 30 months is a pittance of a ruling for these kinds of crimes, and is a pitiable attempt to look like they are trying to stamp racism out.”

It is commonly accepted that the surge of xenophobic attacks has been fueled by the increase of ethnic minorities that have immigrated to Spain in recent years. According to Amnesty International, the country is now the biggest magnet for migration in Europe, with the number of immigrants in Spain rising from 500,000 in 1996 to currently 5.2 million.

Although racism and racially motivated attacks are difficult to measure at the best of times, they are especially hard to determine in Spain, where there is no equivalent of the Commission for Racial Equality, resulting in many racial incidents going unreported.

In a country so rife with racism and xenophobia, it was quite shocking when the National Council of Judicial Power and the Social Affairs, Justice and Interior Ministries recently admitted that they did not bother to keep figures on incidents involving racism. Estaban Ibarra told The Guardian:

“We calculate that there are more than 1,000 racist attacks every year. There has been no adequate following of this, however, by governments.”

One victim of racially motivated prejudice is 15-year-old Sara, who has been “suffering in silence” for the last eight years. Sara moved to Girona, in the Catalonia province, from London when she was seven, and has since endured a miserable and lonely existence at school as the victim of ongoing racist taunts.

“Being black and being English I have suffered years of bullying at school. It is not just the other children, but the teachers have never really given me any support. It was like the whole school was in on it.” Sara said.

Amnesty International echoes both young Sara's beliefs, that those in power are not providing adequate support, and Alfredo Garcia Lopez's views, that the Spanish authorities are not doing enough to combat racism. A spokesperson for Amnesty International said to Expatica.com:

“Any government measures to fight racial discrimination in past years have been insufficient.”

But the human rights group's discontentment stretches even further, as Amnesty believes that the Spanish authorities are criminalizing immigrants, namely by the rise in police operations targeting undocumented immigrants. The Spanish press recently reported that police officers in Madrid are feeling increasingly pressurized to arrest a certain number of immigrants each week.

Although whatever the reasons behind the authorities’ alleged victimization of immigrants, the imprisonment of 15 Hammerskin members in a country that is frequently being referred to “racially regressive” has to be a symbol of progress.

Limbaugh's Hitler obsession

Rush: This is why I have always bristled when I hear people claim conservatism gets close to Nazism.

Rightardia sees the far right wing conservatism that Limbaugh advocates as a form of fascism.

Let's look at the 14 points of fascism:

1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism: Rush waves the flag every chance he gets.
2. Disdain for the importance of human rights: His rants against women, gays, feminists,blacks and Hispanics are well-known.
3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause: Blacks, Hispanics and liberals are his biggest enemies.
4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism: Rush's support of the Afghan and Iraq War are well known. Limbaugh is high in the Republican chicken hawk hierarchy.
5. Rampant sexism: Limbaugh has made many anti-feminist and anti-gay comments. He refers to some women as femi-Nazis.
6. A controlled mass media: one of the goals of the right wing. You need a degree to be in mainstream broadcasting something that Rush and Glen Beck lack. Fox news has good ratings but is losing money.
7. Obsession with national security : What did Bush spend the last eight years telling Americans-- "I kept you safe."
8. Religion and ruling elite tied together: The evangelicals have been trying to subvert the US government and the Armed Forces for at least 30 years.
9. Power of corporations protected: This is what the health care battle is all about. Limbaugh even defended AIG.
10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated : Limbaugh went after the UAW during the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies.
11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts: Limbaugh is perhaps the most anti-intellectual person in media. Most of his rants are low in content and repeat the same opinions over and over again. Paul Krugman was right when he said the GOP is anti-intellectual and the the 'Party of the Stupid.'
12. Obsession with crime and punishment: Not the GOP theme it used to be perhaps because there is so much white collar crime. Limbaugh supports the death penalty.
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption: The essence of the GOP. How many Republicans have been forced to resign in the past eight years. Vice President Dick Cheney was the king of the cronies.
14. Fraudulent elections : The 2000 election was arguably fraudulent with the voter suppression that went on in Florida, the interference with the recount and Republican appeal to the Supreme Court that argued George W. Bush's civil rights were being violated. The election ended with Gore leading by 500,000 votes.

Conclusion: Rush may not be a Nazi, but he looks like a fascist, walks like a fascist and talks like a fascist.

Limbaugh goes off the deep end again

Rush: They accuse of us being Nazis, and Obama's got a health care logo that's right out of Adolf Hitler's play-book.

The Obama logo is hardly similar to the swastika. The medical wings and staff of Hermes or caduceus has been around since the time of the ancient Greeks.

Rush: Now, what are the similarities between the Democrat Party of today and the Nazi Party in Germany? Well, the Nazis were against big business -- they hated big business. 

This is pure Limbaugh bull shit. Big business was behind the Nazis. Siemens and Krups were two of the biggest corporations that supported Hitler. Meanwhile, the Nazis outlawed trade unions and banned strikes. Trade unions were abolished, as well as collective bargaining and the right to strike. C'mon, Rush, the right is anti-union is this country, too.

Big business developed an increasingly close partnership with the Nazi government. The government pursued policies that maximized the profits of its business allies, and, in exchange, business leaders supported the government's political and military goals.

Mussolini wrote the down the principals of fascism which are referred to as syndicalism. In syndicalism, unions exist independent of the state rather than needing the state's micromanagement and central planning.

As with businesses in capitalism, labor unions in syndicalism would likely share a complicated relationship of co-operation and opposition with the state and private enterprise. Mussolini's fascism was based on a corporate organization.

Rush: And of course we all know that they were opposed to Jewish capitalism.

The German Jews became the bogeymen of the Nazis. They Nazis not against capitalism, They were opposed to the economic successes of German Jews.

Rush: They were insanely, irrationally against pollution. 

Huh! What in the world in Rush talking about here?

Rush: They were for two years mandatory voluntary service to Germany. They had a whole bunch of make-work projects to keep people working, one of which was the Autobahn.

Yes, Herbert Hoover, a Republican, stated similar work projects in the US when the Great Depression started. The Hoover Dam was one of these projects.

Rush: They were against cruelty and vivisection of animals, but in the radical sense of devaluing human life, they banned smoking. 

Hitler was the most adamant,characterizing tobacco as "the wrath of the Red Man against the White Man for having been given hard liquor." At one point the Fuhrer even suggested that Nazism might never have triumphed in Germany had he not given up smoking.

German smoking rates rose dramatically in the first six years of Nazi rule, suggesting that the propaganda campaign launched during those early years was largely ineffective. German smoking rates rose faster even than those of France, which had a much weaker anti-tobacco campaign.

Of interest, 50 per cent of people who smoke in the US die from complications from it.

Rush: They were totally against that. They were for abortion and euthanasia of the undesirables, as we all know, and they were for cradle-to-grave nationalized healthcare.

The Germans did, in fact, want to eliminate the handicapped and children with low intelligence form their Master Race. At the same time they wanted more German children and paid women including unwed ones, to produce more German children. Overall, the Nazis were Pro Life as long as you were a German. The Germans. Of course, the Nazis slaughtered million of Jews, Gypsies and Slavs.

Regarding the cradle to grave health care, the US and South Africa are the only industrial nations of the world who have private health care systems. Public health care is the norm for the industrial nations of the world.

Rush: This is why I have always bristled when I hear people claim conservatism gets close to Nazism. It is liberalism that's the closest you can get to Nazism and socialism. It's all bundled up under the socialist banner. There are far more similarities between Nancy Pelosi and Adolf Hitler than between these people showing up at town halls to protest a Hitler-like policy that's being heralded like a Hitler-like logo.

World War 2 could be described as a struggle between the left and the right. When the dust cleared, right wing fascism was defeated by the Allied forces. The big wars in Europe were fought between the Russians communists and German Nazis. This was a classic left -right war. It is not a coincidence that many Republicans were openly supportive of Germany prior to the war and operated businesses in Germany.

George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that worked with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.

While there is no suggestion that Prescott Bush was sympathetic to the Nazi cause, the documents reveal that the firm he worked for, Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), acted as a US base for the German industrialist, Fritz Thyssen, who helped finance Hitler in the 1930s.

There is evidence that shows Bush was the director of the New York-based Union Banking Corporation (UBC) that represented Thyssen's US interests and he continued to work for the bank after America entered the war.

The National Socialists or Nazis were not socialists. In fact, the socialist wing of the Nazis, the SA,  was purged from the party during the Night of the Long Knives. The term National Socialist is an oxymoron because socialism is an international movement. The Nazis were closer to fascism with the emphasis of the German Master race, the outlawing of unions, the militarism and backing of large German corporations.

Rush Limbaugh is a spokesperson for  American corporations who fund the Republican Party. He is a fascist demagogue. Perhaps his lack of education has caused him to be confused about the right wing nature of the Nazis. Perhaps , this is intentional right wing disinformation.

The Democratic Party is now calling on the top Republican Jewish lawmaker to repudiate Limbaugh's remarks.

"Rush Limbaugh's comparison of the Democratic Party to the Nazi Party in World War II is as disgusting as it is shocking," said a statement Thursday from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "Limbaugh's use of the Nazi swastika in attempting to make a tasteless political comparison has no place in the public discourse. 

Limbaugh should apologize to Nancy Pelosi for comparing her to Adolf Hitler. it could be argued that the right wingers showing up at the town hall meetings are really acting like Nazi Storm Troopers. Pelosi is just doing her job as leader of the majority party in the House.
