Why Rightardia doesn't take the far right seriously

The far right is highly ideological and the their rants are predictable.

Most are angry because Mittens didn't get elected and they think they needs to take the country back, using force from citizen militias if necessary.

Most buy into standard conservative ideas that have been around for years with the exception of the right wing libertarians.   These people represent about 18 per cent of the population at best. Many are against international  military adventurism of the establishment Republicans. Most also oppose foreign aid.

Many libertarians are reminiscent of isolationist Republicansthat were common prior to the onset of World War 2. Charles Lindbergh is a good example. He was a Nazi sympathizer and didn't want the US at war with Germany.

The far right clearly prefers a corporatist model in which corporate leaders run both the government and the corporations. Corporatism has been called the first stage of fascism

The first stage of fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of State and corporations.

The Tetards think the US is headed down the road to socialism although the Democratic party is centrist. The problem is the Teatards are so far to the right, they see any political ideas to the left of them as socialistic  communistic or fascist  Why fascism? Because many Teatards do not have clear grasp of the difference between fascism and socialism

This graphic of the political spectrum shows that fascism is on the right and communism on the left. The two extreme political philosophies do have some common ground: statist centralized government and collectivist approaches to the economy.

However, communism is international movement. Fascism is national and fueled by militarism, corpratism and religion.

Adolf Hitler's primary goal in World War 2 was to defeat the Russian Bolsheviks  and to replace Russian communism with a trans-Germanic culture that centered around Berlin.

The Teatards support most conservative objectives with the exception of  US international militarism. This seem t be the biggest area of friction that the Tea Party has with Establishment Republicans like John McCain.

The farther political ideas go the left or right, they more ideological and predictable they become. The US is a centrist nation and has rejected politically extreme ideas in the past. This is why Rightardia doesn't take Tetards seriously.

During the GOP primary, an assortment of far right clowns was paraded before the electorate. New clowns like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz have also appeared. Do any of these have any chance of becoming president?

The "my way or the highway" right wing candidate will never win a presidential election.
This seems to be highly unlikely.

Yet the Democrats still often win

It takes a coalition of women, workers, students, and minorities to beat this 800 lb. gorilla.

Organize, mobilize and win!

The Political Spectrum

First, let's look at the international political spectrum

As you can see, the authentic international left is made up of communists and socialists  The right is populated by conservatives and fascists.

The people with the tin foil hats are called radicals on the left and reactionaries on the right.

Now let's look at the political spectrum in the US House of Representatives courtesy of Nate Sliver:

It should be obvious in the House there is really no significant left wing caucus. The Democratic progressive caucus is part of the liberal Democratic wing. However, in the Senate  there is one socialist, Sen, Bernie Sanders.

The Blue dog Democrats often vote with the GOP so they are actually center right Democrats.

The US liberal movement is essentially centrist. This is true for the liberal party in the UK, too,  as shown in the political  poster from Liverpool.
The liberal movement started more than 200 years ago during the French and American revolutions. It is a centrist philosophy today that developed as a counterpoint to European monarchies.

The Establishment or country club Republicans are status quo conservatives.

Many of the Tea Partiers are fascists. Allen West is good example of a fascist Republican. So are Michelle Bachmann, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry and Louie Gohlmert.

It should e clear that after the past two elections, the US electorate has shifted to the center from the center right.

The GOP, on the other hand,  has shifted from the right and descended into far right fascism. Fascism is another word for corporatism. On author has stated that corporatism is the first stage of fascism
There really is no coherent left wing political movement in the US as there is in Europe  This is why European politics are so different from those in the US.

Job creation v. tax cuts

A business person said tax cuts are great at the end of year, but it doesn't help if your business has lost its base of middle calls customers because of unemployment.

Businesses rise and fall based upon sales of products and services to customers, not tax cuts.

It's the primacy of the customer, baby!

The Republicans have their own version of free stuff: tax cuts. When you look at their tax plan  most of this GOP free stuff goes to the affluent.

Tax cuts not only help the GOP base: the top earning Americans, but the reduction of revenue weakens government.

That is another part of the GOP game plan. A weakened government means less regulation and more control on part of private enterprise.

This is the conservative game plan. It is the American version of fascism, also called corporatism.

The GOP descent into fascsim

Rightardia has been talking about this for more than a year. Now even Republicans are aware of it. Florida has its own assortment of nuts and bolts, too.

Allen West immediately comes to mind.

Is Rightardia calling Republicans--Nazis. No, American fascism is different but the authoritarianism and desire for group think and ideological purity is apparent.

Religion is also a big factor and the GOP has been working with the Evangelical and fundamentalist churches since the first term of GW Bush.

Rightardia thinks this started with Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh. We don't think it will end until the GOP suffers a series of severe election losses.

That may be a problem in itself. Plenty of people are still voting for these extremists.

The politics between the Democrats and the GOP has its roots in class warfare that has exited in the US since this nation was founded.

The Republican agenda has been to scale back or eliminate social programs like Social Security, Medicare, food stamps and so forth. At the same time, the GOP has provided tax cuts to Fortune 1000 corporations and to the affluent.

This can be described as crony capitalism or corporatism, but it is essentially the American version of fascism.

Fascism can take many forms starting with the statist version of Mussolini and the bottom up version of fascism the Catholic church advocated during that era.

The US version assumes that private enterprise should call the shots in government and our corporate leaders like Mitt Romney should be our political leaders as well because government doesn't understand private enterprise. Of course, there is no Constitutional basis any of these ideas.

When the Founders wrote the constitution, there were few corporations and the government restricted them.

Far Left Side: Handy fascism checklist

Some of this sounds all too familiar in the US. The Citizens United ruling could be the straw the breaks the camel's back.

Fascism and corporatism are synonyms.

You would think the Supremes would know better.

William Wallace understood the right wing well

Wallace was FDR's vice president. American understood fascism and militarism in that era. We were fighting the Nazis and the Japanese.

Back then Americans didn't think they needed to coddle Fortune 500 corporations, billionaires and millionaires for the nation to be successful.

That was before the corporatists invented Reaganomics and supply side economics.

Rightardian quote of the Week

Ron Paul said this to thousands of his supporters at the rally.in Kansas city:

We’ve slipped away from a true republic.

Now we’re slipping into a fascist system where it’s a combination of government, big business and authoritarian rule, and the suppression of the individual rights of each and every American citizen.

Dumber than Dubya?

We never thought we would see a presidential candidate dumber than GW Bush. We were wrong.

Rick Santorum appears to be stuck in the 1950s. He is wrong prescription for America is so many ways.

What is even more amusing is that his candidacy is actually embraced by Republicans.

That speaks legions about the descent of the GOP.

Cryptlogon: US economy is not a free market

Columbia University Professor Edmund S. Phelps, who won the 2006 Nobel Prize in economics, and his coauthor, Saifedean Ammous, assistant professor of economics at the Lebanese American University, write that the U.S. economy ceased to be a free market some time ago.

Cryptlogon points out:

This system . . . is . . . an economic order that harks back to Bismarck in the late nineteenth century and Mussolini in the twentieth: corporatism.

Corporatism is a polite word for fascism. Crony capitalism is another term for corporatism.

In various ways, corporatism chokes off the dynamism that makes for engaging work, faster economic growth, and greater opportunity and inclusiveness. It maintains lethargic, wasteful, unproductive, and well-connected firms at the expense of dynamic newcomers and outsiders, and favors declared goals such as industrialization, economic development, and national greatness over individuals’ economic freedom and responsibility.

Today, airlines, auto manufacturers, agricultural companies, media, investment banks, hedge funds, and much more has [sic] at some point been deemed too important to weather the free market on its own, receiving a helping hand from government in the name of the “public good.”

Why are businesses "too big to fail?" It's because the US Attorney General's Office, past and present,  is not aggressively pursuing anti-trust prosecution against these corporations that are "too big to fail."

Newsy: Former Scientology Exec Criticizes Church for being greedy

January 4, 2012  (1:29)

Debra Cook says the secretive church's current leader is demanding too much money from members. Find out how much she says the church has amassed.

Cook had been the de facto Scientology CEO in Clearwater, FL.

Rightardia has heard that David Miscavige is a dictator who dressed his dog up as a Scientology officer and required other Scientologists to salute his dog. There are many reports of Miscavige abusing people.

We are suspicious of any organization that requires its members to wear uniforms because it smacks of fascism.

Secular human worked for a Scientology company for a short period and found most of the followers to be very right wing. Few had mainstream political views.

GOP candidates claim they are all po' people

Yep, Mittens, the Newtster, and the rest of this lot are just like you and me.

Of course, they really aren't Most of them with the exception of Ron Paul and John Huntsman, sold out as corporatist shills and whores years ago.

The job of these GOP politicians is do the bidding of the one per cent, maintain the status quo and to dismantle depression and post-depression reforms whenever possible. That's what the deregulation emphasis of the GOP is about.

Of course, they want to ingratiate themselves to their bosses so they have cut the taxes of the affluent as well.

Any time that a progressive suggests that the wealthy are disproportionately benefiting from the Bush tax policies, Republicans shout, "class warfare!"

Karl Rove was one of the first to use the "class warfare" term during the first GW Bush presidential campaign.

Anything that threatens the GOP's crony capitalism is socialism. Crony capitalism is a kind synonym for fascism.

In the book A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous Fourteenth Century, Barbara Tuchman writes about a peasant revolt in 1358 that began in the village of St. Leu and spread throughout the Oise Valley.

At one estate, the serfs sacked the manor house, killed the knight, and roasted him on a spit in front of his wife and kids. After ten or twelve peasants violated the lady of the house, they forced her to eat the roasted flesh of her dead husband before they killed her.

That is class warfare.

Arguing over the marginal income tax tax rate for the top one percent is not.

Rightardia editorial: Democrats need to start using the political F-word

Rightardia listened to most of the last GOP Fox News debate and was surprised when Ron Paul mentioned fascism and the Sinclair Lewis quote. For years Democrats have been called socialists and sometimes worse, and most of us just shrug it off.

Rightardia's comeback when we are called socialist is "that  is what a fascist might say."

The Steve Kangas approach is too ask someone calling a Democrat a socialist to explain what socialism is.

Trust me on the Kanagas view. Most rightards don't have a clue what  socialism is and most confuse it with communism.

The Wikipedia definition of socialism is:

Socialism play /ˈsoʊʃəlɪzəm/ is an economic system characterized by social ownership of the means of production and cooperative management of the economy; or a political philosophy advocating such a system.

Most scholars consider socialism to be an economic system while communism is a political system. Most communist governments like Cuba and North Korea have turned into hereditary dictatorships. China is the exception.

For example is Social Security socialism? Is a retirement system involved in the means of production? Does Social Security manage the economy? Is Social Security a political philosophy advocating public ownership of the means of production. .

Social Security is innocent as charged in all three cases. Social Security is simply a long term national saving plan. The most efficient way to manage it is with the government because it has lower overhead and a higher payout than any options in private enterprise.

Both the UK during the Margaret Thatcher era and Chile during the Augusto Pinochet era tried to privatized their versions of social security and in both cases, the privatization failed.

In the UK example, pensioners lost half of their social security savings during the grand right wing social engineering experiment. Pensioners were advised to return to government programs that were more secure and provided better benefits than private enterprise could offer.

What did Sinclair Lewis say about fascism? His quote is contained in the flag graphic.

Think about that a minute, Isn't patriotism, flag waving, bible thumping, prayer and religion the essence of the GOP? Is there any doubt about the movement of the GOP to the right with the Tea Party and ideologues like Allen West,

Has the GOP has descended into fascism?

Yes, it has.

But have you heard any Democrats call Republicans fascist when they hurled the frequent socialism slurs (s-bombs)? Democrats are too timid to throw back the the political F-word: fascism.

But Ron Paul wasn't. He mentioned fascism in the last debate.

Democrats prefer more politer terminology like "crony capitalism."

Well, crony capitalism is fascism for heaven's sake!

Let's call a spade what is is for once in the Democratic Party.
