Will Mittens withdraw for the race?

Mittens dithering over releasing his taxes has already affected his Intrade chances, but the Gallup numbers are unchanged with Obama having a 2 point national advantage.

Nate Silver shows Obama with a 298 to 240 electoral advantage. A candidate needs 271 to win,

The Huffington Post posits a 274 to 191 advantage.

Will Mittens resign?  Rightardia thinks it is a distinct possibility.

We suspect Romney may be involved in the UBS tax evasion scandal that the IRS has been quietly allowing violators to settle after paying huge financial penalties.

Mittens probably realized by now that he is unlikely to win this election. He my decide to cut his loses and throw in the towel.

Rupert Murdoch: 'Doubtful' That Romney Will Beat Obama In 2012 Election

The Huffington Post reports that Rupert Murdoch thinks Mittens is unlikely to beat Obama unless he fires staff members and brings the pros in.

Rupert Murdoch stated that Mittens:

Seems to play everything safe, make no news except burn off Hispanics.


Murdoch also commented that the Tom Cruse and Katie Holmes divorce will center around Scientology.

Rightardia has read another report that Katie Holmes did not want her daughter, Suri, involved with that religion.

Murdoch added:

Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people.

Some of the big media companies don't play well with others

Everyday Rightardia searches innumerable news sources for news. Many of these are press services but we also look at the Huffington Post, Politico .com and the Daily Beast, just to mention a few.

Unfortunately, none of the above allow sharing beyond basic Tweets and Facebook shares. We had to poke around for several minutes to find a sharable story on Harry Reid who is trying to push Obama's judicial nominations through the Senate.

This is a basic political story that should not be protected by terms of use or copyright, but it was not sharable until we found the article on the appointments  in Roll Call. You would think the Huffington Post would know better. After all, it started out as a blog.

Some blogs even have copy right notices on them. However, some do share. A good example of a sharing blog is the the Daily KOS. Notice the Daily KOS' disclaimer.

Rightardia is able to use a lot of art and cartoons because we have asked permission to do so. There are substantially more artists and cartoonists with Democratic sympathies than Republican.

That is probably do to the sentiments of the GOP to suppress the arts and public media.

Our favorite sites that share? That  would be Al Jazeerra, Haaretz, Ria Novosti and the Tampa Bay Times. Al Jazeera, Haaretz,  and the Tampa bay Times have sharing Blogger hyperlinks.

Ria Novosti has sharable HTML scripts. We use the scripts to embed RN article thumb nails and cartoons .

We think some of the media would be smarter to embed links and services for the different blogs and or to use scripts to make their content sharable.

From our perspective, it seems pointless to find an article in the Huffington Post and then have to look for another source that will share the information.

We have had to do that a lot lately.

WASHINGTON--Obama owned Trump during the recent White House Corespondent's Dinner.

President Barack Obama joked that the billionaire businessman could bring change to the White House, transforming it from a stately mansion into a tacky casino with a whirlpool in the garden.

Trump the Insult Dog finally got a well deserved comeuppance.

Huffington Post: Gov . Rick Scott activates labor backlash

WASHINGTON -- Garrett Lamp, a fireman, has been a lifelong Republican. He voted for Jeb Bush for governor and even worked on a few political campaigns.

He calls himself a social conservative, but he will be going to the local Supervisor of Elections and changing his party identification to "Independent."

"As a public safety employee, as a fireman, as a father of three children [and] my sister has a special needs child, I'm fed up with the ridiculous cuts that are being made right and left," Lamp told The Huffington Post.

"It's almost like the Republicans are in a feeding frenzy, decimating working-class families,” He added.

You can't do away with taxes for corporations and put it on the backs of middle-class working people, and that's what they're doing.

On Sunday, Lamp posted a message on his Facebook wall:

Join me on Wednesday at 11:30 at the Viera Supervisor of Elections as I become an Independent Voter.

Lamp said that in the past he had consistently voted for Republicans; but he never fully trusted Gov. Rick Scott . He voted for Democrat Alex Sink in the 2010 gubernatorial race.

A bill, sponsored by state Sen. John Thrasher (R), would prohibit state and local governments from automatically deducting union dues from employees' paychecks. Union members would also have to give written consent before their dues are used for political purposes.

But as Politifact noted, "Employees automatically have money taken out of their paycheck to pay for all kinds of things. The state of Florida currently has 364 groups or agencies that have the ability to take money directly from employees' paychecks."

Lamp’s could serve as a warning for GOP governors around the nation who are battling the labor community in the run-up to the 2012 elections.

Lamp is a member of the International Association of Firefighters union.

Bloomberg: AOL buys Huffington Post

Bloomberg is now allowing video embeds which is good news.

Rightardia wonders if the editorial content of the Huffington Post will change.

We view AOL as sort of an Internet dinosaur and aren't really sure how this acquisition will benefit it.

Allen West: Total and complete rightard

Incoming Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) explained this weekend that he hadn't learned anything from his initial decision to pick as his chief of staff a conservative firebrand radio show host with a history of inflammatory statements.

"Well, I think first of all what you saw was an attack from the left against Joyce Kauffman and there are some other issues with that, but they did not play the full clip of her speech when she gave that, I think it was the 4th of July," West told Fox News Sunday.

So once again, it was the editing sound biting. And I didn't learn anything from it, because you just adjust and you continue on. So Joyce Kauffman was a very instrumental and helpful person in our campaign and she was the one that interviewed my current chief of staff because she knows the good match.

West has since replaced Kaufman, a Florida commentator who had notoriously advocated for the hanging of illegal immigrants and said "if ballots don't work, bullets will," with Washington insider Jonathan Blyth.

West blamed the criticism on both "racism," as well as "sexism and misogynist behavior" by the liberal media, a line of reasoning that West appeared content on continuing on Sunday. He also continued his own attack on Democrats.

Host Chris Wallace  asked West if he was willing to stand by his comments that the "liberal, progressive" agenda was "tyrannical, socialist, despicable," West responded that he was.

MoveOn.org: Calls On Obama To Stiffen Spine On Bush Tax Cuts

WASHINGTON -- The progressive advocacy group MoveOn.org is making a major national ad buy, calling on President Barack Obama to let the rates for the wealthy return to Clinton-era levels.

MoveOn.org has been careful in choosing the fights it has picked with the Obama administration. It uses a mildly confrontational tone in the spot, titled "Obama Back," which is set to air on CNN, MSNBC and the cable network Oxygen.

Peter Daou and James Boyce say they came up with the idea of a political website - where public figures would be invited to blog...


...during a meeting at co-founder Arianna Huffington’s house in December of 2004. They accuse Huffington and business partner Ken Lerer of presenting collaborated ideas as their own.

Daou and Boyce are filing suit against Huffington and Lerer -- saying the latter violated a “handshake agreement” to work together on the site. And the stakes could be high -- Forbes reports the left-leaning blog was valued at $100 million in 2008.

Politico - which broke the story - suggests the suit presents problems for the site’s heads.

“The complaint is a direct challenge to the left’s most important media property ... And it challenges Huffington’s own oft-told story of coming up with the idea in conversation with Lerer and other friends.”

And the accusation is being met with more than a few skeptics. Panelists on MSNBC’s Morning Joe -- where Arianna Huffington is a frequent guest -- say they aren’t buying Daou and Boyce’s story.


JOE SCARBOROUGH: “Their credibility is undercut a bit by, they also claim to have written half the songs since Sgt. Pepper and said they created the atomic bomb and the Feds owe them, like $28,000.”

PANELIST: “I had an assistant working with Ken Lerer in his office, and basically the two of them were really generating this website on their own. Arianna was doing it out of her blog. It’s an absurd idea, and it was Ken and Arianna did this thing together. It’s just not right to say it was stolen.”

In a statement Huffington called the suit a -quote- “completely absurd, ludicrous supposition” by two men who’d been refused jobs at the site.

And Business Insider’s Henry Blodget says beyond that -- Daou and Boyce are going to have a hard time making their case look legitimate in the court of public opinion.

Huffington Post: Boycott Gold's Gym

There is a  backlash from activists over a $2 million donation to American Crossroads, the conservative political group affiliated with former Bush adviser Karl Rove, and its four franchises in the San Francisco Bay Area are now leaving the brand over the controversy.

On Monday, Don Dickerson, the director of operations for Gold's Gym Bay Area, distributed a message through its Facebook page saying that it will be leaving the Gold's Gym brand.

We were as surprised by [CEO] Mr. [Robert] Rowling's action as anyone but because our company believes in and lives up to the ideals of equality for all . . .

Gold's Gym is run by TRT Holdings. It is headed by billionaire and major Republican donor,Robert Rowling.

The site Change.org launched a petition demanding that Gold's Gym stop supporting anti-gay politicians, and it already has nearly 2,000 signatures.

Huffington Post: US is 61st in 2010 Environmental Performance Index

Environmental experts at Yale and Columbia universities released their biannual Environmental Performance Index at the World Economic Forum.

The index ranks 163 nations according to their performance on 25 indicators that fall into ten policy categories, which are as follow: environmental burden of disease, air pollution (effects on humans), air pollution (effects on ecosystem), water (effects on humans), water (effects on ecosystem), biodiversity and habitat, forestry, fisheries, agriculture, and climate change.

Iceland dominated the rankings, coming in 1st, while the United States came in at a mediocre 61st, a sizeable drop from its 39th place rank in the EPI's last evaluation in 2008.

However, this year's rankings cannot be compared accurately to the 2008 index, as "the scientists have shifted their methodology slightly as they seek to zero in on the fairest way to quantify the broad and nebulous area of environmental performance," The New York Times reported.

Additionally, since most of the data pulled for the index are from 2007 and 2008, it is not an accurate representation of the Obama administration's efforts to improve, the Times said. All the same, the U.S. falls far behind its fellow industrialized nations such as the United  Kingdom, which came in at a respectable 14th place.
