Some of the big media companies don't play well with others

Everyday Rightardia searches innumerable news sources for news. Many of these are press services but we also look at the Huffington Post, Politico .com and the Daily Beast, just to mention a few.

Unfortunately, none of the above allow sharing beyond basic Tweets and Facebook shares. We had to poke around for several minutes to find a sharable story on Harry Reid who is trying to push Obama's judicial nominations through the Senate.

This is a basic political story that should not be protected by terms of use or copyright, but it was not sharable until we found the article on the appointments  in Roll Call. You would think the Huffington Post would know better. After all, it started out as a blog.

Some blogs even have copy right notices on them. However, some do share. A good example of a sharing blog is the the Daily KOS. Notice the Daily KOS' disclaimer.

Rightardia is able to use a lot of art and cartoons because we have asked permission to do so. There are substantially more artists and cartoonists with Democratic sympathies than Republican.

That is probably do to the sentiments of the GOP to suppress the arts and public media.

Our favorite sites that share? That  would be Al Jazeerra, Haaretz, Ria Novosti and the Tampa Bay Times. Al Jazeera, Haaretz,  and the Tampa bay Times have sharing Blogger hyperlinks.

Ria Novosti has sharable HTML scripts. We use the scripts to embed RN article thumb nails and cartoons .

We think some of the media would be smarter to embed links and services for the different blogs and or to use scripts to make their content sharable.

From our perspective, it seems pointless to find an article in the Huffington Post and then have to look for another source that will share the information.

We have had to do that a lot lately.

John King asked the GOP presidential contenders to describe themselves in one word. The Daily Beast asked its followers on Facebook to describe Obama. The "word cloud" shows the results.

The Daily Beast: 'Santorum makes Sarah Palin look like a liberal'

What happens if you nominate a candidate who is too extreme? Newsweek and The Daily Beast's Meghan McCain tells John Avlon she doesn't want to find out. 

Meghan makes her case against Santorum's bid for president.

Rightardia agrees with McCain. Santorum is on the far right fringe of the GOP. He also made some incredibly stupid statements that would haunt him in a general election.

Could the Democrats be headed for a huge victory in 2012?

Mike Tomasky wrote an article in the Daily Beast that Obama could be headed for a landslide victory in 2012. The Democrats may take back the House, but lose the Senate in the process. However, a big presidential victory might give the Dems all three houses.

Stranger thing have happened!

The GOP ticket is like a circus clown show. The three evangelicals: Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum have no chance at all. Perhaps they are there to pander to evangelicals. None of these candidiates have the stature or communication skills of Mike Huckabee who ran in the 2008 GOP primary.

Newt Gingrich's act is fading. Both left and right wing media have trashed him. The conservative National review say his character flaws make him unfit to be president. The review  then asks Republicans to “reject a hasty marriage” to Gingrich.

Mitt Romney is probably the best candidate the GOP had but lacks charisma and he has run a lack luster campaign that is more like that of an incumbent president. He has refused interviews and the one he recently had with Fox News was a disaster.

Jon Huntsman, the former US ambassador to China, is a great candidate but far too moderate for the Tea Party crowd. Many pundits suggested that Huntsman really has his eye on a run in 2016 and just wants to get acquainted at this juncture with the electorate.

That leaves Ron Paul who could win the Iowa GOP caucus . Paul is despised by some of the other candidates because of his position on defense, drugs and gay marriage. Paul may end up as a third party candidate and IBOPE/Zogby said he could win 16 per cent of the vote.

Rightardia thinks if Paul runs for president as the Libertarian choice, the GOP is sunk. However, Paul will also pick a lot of students and Occupy protesters that could also hurt Democrats.

In any event a presidential victory for Obama would be amazing with a 43 favorability rating today from Gallup and a 44 per cent rating form IBOPE/Zogby.
