Daily Kos: The Republican brand killed Mitt Romney

"September 27 – With all the polls now showing an Obama surge, Republicans are jockeying for position to lock in credible-sounding explanations for why he is losing, the Senate is slipping from their grasp and other down-ballot races are turning blue. The most popular trope is that Romney is a terrible candidate. Popular arguments range from that he’s not really a conservative, to he’s not competent, to he won’t unshackle Paul Ryan, and to he just needs to be more aggressive.

What’s lost in the scrum of all this blame-shifting is the salient understanding that the product -- not the pitch man -- is the problem."

Rightardia agrees with this editorial's conclusions. The GOP is an old dog that hasn't learned any new tricks. However, Obama has defined the Democrats as the champion of the middle class and the the Occupy movement has defined the GOP as the party of the one per cent. It would be more accurate to state the GOP represents the interests of the top 10 per cent. 

Meanwhile, we hear the same old BS about supply side economics, deregulation and US militarism form the GOP. While we are still coming out of a recession. We hear talk from the GOP about cutting Medicare, Social Security, food stamps and the Veterans Administration. In the past the GOP didn't mind taking on the poor, but going after seniors and vets prior to an election doesn't seem very bright. 

The GOP also decides to attack the fastest growing demographic in the US, Hispanics and then initiates a war on women with as series of political blunders. 

God grief. How can this party expect to win elections? There just aren't enough angry white men to swing an election anymore for the GOP. Apparently, even the wealth of billionaires like the Koch Brothers isn't enough to subvert the US democracy.

Some of the big media companies don't play well with others

Everyday Rightardia searches innumerable news sources for news. Many of these are press services but we also look at the Huffington Post, Politico .com and the Daily Beast, just to mention a few.

Unfortunately, none of the above allow sharing beyond basic Tweets and Facebook shares. We had to poke around for several minutes to find a sharable story on Harry Reid who is trying to push Obama's judicial nominations through the Senate.

This is a basic political story that should not be protected by terms of use or copyright, but it was not sharable until we found the article on the appointments  in Roll Call. You would think the Huffington Post would know better. After all, it started out as a blog.

Some blogs even have copy right notices on them. However, some do share. A good example of a sharing blog is the the Daily KOS. Notice the Daily KOS' disclaimer.

Rightardia is able to use a lot of art and cartoons because we have asked permission to do so. There are substantially more artists and cartoonists with Democratic sympathies than Republican.

That is probably do to the sentiments of the GOP to suppress the arts and public media.

Our favorite sites that share? That  would be Al Jazeerra, Haaretz, Ria Novosti and the Tampa Bay Times. Al Jazeera, Haaretz,  and the Tampa bay Times have sharing Blogger hyperlinks.

Ria Novosti has sharable HTML scripts. We use the scripts to embed RN article thumb nails and cartoons .

We think some of the media would be smarter to embed links and services for the different blogs and or to use scripts to make their content sharable.

From our perspective, it seems pointless to find an article in the Huffington Post and then have to look for another source that will share the information.

We have had to do that a lot lately.

Billionaires 4 WealthCare visit the Tea Party Express Kick-off in San Diego!

This is quite funny. At first the Tea Partiers didn't realize they were being satirised. Then things started to turn ugly. Billionaires for Wealthcare joined the kickoff for the Tea Party Express II in San Diego.

The group, which consisted of individuals made incredibly rich on US health care industry profits, made dozens of new friends among the throngs of tea party attendees and even earned a shout-out from one of the event’s organizers.

The Daily Kos had another report on the action which was written in La Gitane's diary. 

We mingled; there were surprisingly many nice folks, who enjoyed our performance and were laughing along with us and taking pictures. However, there were MANY more vitriolic tea baggers, some of whom were violent and, of course, racist. 

We were interviewed by the SD Union Tribune, and Channel 8. Three of our Billionaires, including The Commodore, sang a song that the Commodore wrote. Channel 8 filmed the whole song! I'm telling you, we got great exposure! 
We also had three videographers, and I will be posting pics, footage and the lyrics to the Commodore's song as soon as it's available. 

A pattern I'm seeing is that in the beginning, the Repubs don't really understand and don't know what to think. But, as they catch on, they become more violent, and really in your face. 

By the time our limo came to pick us up and Todd, our faithful driver, laid out the red carpet once again, things were getting pretty bad. Many people wanted to know who is behind all of this??? Who's paying us?? 

One very "bright" woman was angry because the Tea Baggers "barely had the money to put this together" while we are funded by someone (Soros?) and she DEMANDED to know who!! 

She screamed that we were "fucking hypocrites". And I mean SCREAMED. Their grass-roots effort is pretty impressive - although they "barely had the money to put this together", they managed to have two buses fully wrapped in Tea Party regalia and plenty of vehicles, all marked with Tea Party Express signage. 

Cops were pretty thin, surprisingly, since any lefty rally I've ever been to seems to bring them all out in full riot gear. I guess the tea baggers aren't a threat to public safety...? Anyhoo, much thanks to all the San Diego Billionaires for making such a beautiful performance. It really is a fun bunch!

Dialy Kos Poll: Grading Obama and the Top Washington Leaders

While President Obama's poll ratings have dropped, he is still is seen more favorably than other Democrats and Republicans on the national scene, according to a Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll conducted Oct. 19.

Obama is seen favorably by 56 percent and unfavorably by 37 percent with 7 percent undecided.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is seen unfavorably by 54 percent and favorably by 38 percent with 9 percent undecided.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is seen unfavorably by 56 percent and favorably by 32 percent with 12 percent undecided.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is seen unfavorably by 66 percent and favorably by 16 percent, with 18 percent undecided.

House Minority Leader John Boehner is seen unfavorably by 63 percent and favorably by 13 percent with 24 percent undecided.

Congressional Democrats are regarded unfavorably by 53 percent and favorably by 40 percent with 7 percent undecided.

Congressional Republicans are seen unfavorably by 70 percent and favorably by 15 percent with 15 percent undecided.

The Democratic Party is seen unfavorably by 50 percent and favorably by 42 percent with 8 percent undecided.

The Republican Party is seen unfavorably by 67 percent and favorably by 20 percent with 13 percent undecided.
