What do you expect after eight years of the worst president ever?

Obama never promised you a rose garden, now did he? We have a tough slog on health care, but we can get this job done.

Think outside of the box for a minute.  Why do you think the conservatives are against public health care? First, the health care industry stands to lose a lot of its profitability. Private health care won't disappear, but 3 out of 4 Americans will likely chose public health care if given the choice.

Why? Because it will cost 30 to 40 per cent less and there will be no pre-existing conditions. Public health care will become a basic human right of Americans like free speech. If you lose your job, you will not lose your health care.

Your job will be untethered from health insurance. There will be no more expensive Cobra payments when you lose your job. You will be able to change jobs if you have a family member with a medical condition because pre-existing medical conditions will be moot.

Many Americans felt--in the Bush era of flat wages and high productivity-- more like an indentured servant than a valued worker. You will no longer be beholden to your employer for medical insurance which will give workers more job flexibility.

You will be able to tell the boss "take this job and shove it" in the appropriate circumstances. Corporate workers will be less likely to be looked at as sheeple that corporations can move around.

Now do you understand why corporations are nervous about public health care?  Public health care will liberate many workers from bad and marginal corporations.

Weekly Address: Health Care Reform Cannot Wait

FRI, JULY 17, 11:59 PM EST
Posted by Jesse Lee

The President calls on Congress to seize this opportunity – one that may not come again for decades – and finally pass health care reform: "It’s about every family unable to keep up with soaring out of pocket costs and premiums rising three times faster than wages. Every worker afraid of losing health insurance if they lose their job, or change jobs. Everyone who’s worried that they may not be able to get insurance or change insurance if someone in their family has a pre-existing condition..."

On July 14, 2009, House Democratic leaders introduced the America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009

The three panels with jurisdiction over health policy in the House have been working together as one committee to develop a single bill that fulfills President Obama's goals of reducing health care costs, protecting and increasing consumers' choices, and guaranteeing access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans. The act would make health care in the US a right.

No more co-pays or deductibles for preventive care

No more rate increases for pre-existing conditions, gender, or occupation
An annual cap on your out-of-pocket expenses
Group rates of a national pool if you buy your own plan
Guaranteed, affordable oral, hearing, and vision care for your kids

GREATER CHOICE
Keep your doctor, and your current plan, if you like them More choice, with a high quality public health insurance option competing with private insurers
HIGHER QUALITY
You and your doctors make health care decisions — not insurance companies More family doctors and nurses will enter the workforce, helping guarantee access Mental health care must be covered
STABILITY & PEACE OF MIND
No more coverage denials for pre-existing conditions No more lifetime limits on how much insurance companies will pay No reason to ever make a job or life decision again based on health care coverage
