One of the big difference between the GOP and the Democrats is how they use the intelligence agencies.
The GOP brings in partisan hacks an makes them Senior Intelligence Officers who make intelligence studies conform to GOP ideology.and produce studies that support political and economic objectives of the executive branch.
Of course, these colored studies put the US armed forces in harms way as was the case in case in Iraq and Afghanistan.
When President Bush was asked why no WMDs in Iraq after a two year search, he explained it as an "intelligence failure."
When Democrats are in power, you don't hear of many intelligence failures. In fact, we had a huge success: the take down of Osama bin Laden.
