Dancing with the Stars: Classic Week

Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) Classic week is interesting because it is one of the few shows on mainstream TV that ever really deals with the classical music, ballet and opera.

Cable TV is now populated with shows like Axemen, Louisiana Swamp Idjits and Doomsday Preppers.

The main problems with this years DWTS classic week was the choice of music. Some of the pieces were barely danceable, but oddly Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" made it onto the show.
Team Derak and Maria

The Derek Hough-Maria Menounos paso doble was outstanding and certainly the best dance of the season and perhaps in the entire series. We did find a rehearsal video and should be able to get the actual dance by tomorow. Derek and Maria got the first perfect 30 of the season. Not bad for a difficult dance like the paso.

Rightrdia also enjoyed seeing little Jackie Evancho, the classical opera singer, who came in second on America's Got Talent.

Enjoy the Derek-Maria rehearsal video,

New Obama Video Stars Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck: Buzz Politics 4.30

New Obama Video Stars Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck: Buzz Politics 4.30:

The Obama reelection team hasn't come up with a new slogan yet but its new video, "Forward" points the way to a campaign in which the President will run on part of his record while bashing Republicans and their media stars -- Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity -- for being the "Party of No."

Do the Republicans think they can blackball a Democratic president and then when the GOP recaptures the White House, everything will be fine?

Vanity Fair wrote an article about Mitt Romney.  A Democratic lawmaker stated:

You remember Richard Nixon and the imperial presidency? Well, this was the imperial governor. There were the ropes that often curtailed access to Romney and his chambers. The elevator settings restricted access to his office. The tape on the floor told people exactly where to stand during events. This was the controlled environment that Romney created. His orbit was his own. 'We always would talk about how, among the legislators, he had no idea what our names were—none,' the lawmaker said, 'because he was so far removed from the day-to-day operations of state government.'

On the Morning Joe, some of the former MA Democratic lawmakers described Romney as the CEO of MA when he was governor.

Obama’s Goal is to Avoid Conflict With Iran

In the latest in a series of New York Times front-page features on U.S. policy toward Iran based on anonymous sources within the administration, the newspaper proclaimed today the chances of armed conflict with the Islamist state had markedly declined. The unnamed American officials did no more than state the obvious when they noted that . . .

Commentary's Jonathan Tobin adds:

These factors all have a more immediate goal: rendering any attack on Iran out of the question, and thus enabling the president to face the voters without either a huge spike in oil prices or another Middle East conflict.

Rightardia agrees with this assessment. Of course, attacking Iran is not in the self-interest of the US.

Some of the former members of Mossad and Shin Bet think Bibi Netanyahu holds messianic views about attacking Iran and that the Iranians would be likely to accelerate their nuclear program if attacked.

Rightardia predicted gas prices would rise when the use positioned naval forces near the Strait of Hormuz. Gas prices went up immediately.

The one per cent alternative?

Is this a real alternative? The GOP needs to reform and move to the middle.

It really offers this country no alternatives that are useful to the average American.

A simple solution to strengthen Social Security

Rightardia suggests there is one way to strengthen Social Security that could help the Social Security trust fund and the tax payer as well.

Simply allow taxpayers to contribute more money to their Social Security savings accounts in $100 increments per month.

Such contributions would be added into the saving accounts of the Social Security contributor and result in a bigger payout upon the contributors' retirement.

Such contributions would be safer than IRA constitutions which can be eaten up by management fees. Unlike IRAs, Social security should not allow early loans or withdrawals.

Social Security withdrawals or loans should not be permitted. Such loans would create an administrative burden for the government. This would be a downside for these accounts compared to IRAs.

Rightardia notes that the US government cannot go bankrupt, but a bank or insurance company can. This would make such a program very secure for contributors but they would lose the flexibility for loans they have with the IRA.s

This would be a win situation for the government that would see the trust fund assets increase by billion of dollars.

WIN: Courts kick Gov. Rick's keister on more time

Rick Scott - Caricature

The drug testing governor loses again

Judge Ursula Ungaro ruled the drug testing to be “unreasonable” search and in violation of the Fourth
Amendment.

She wrote that the order “does not identify a concrete danger that must be
addressed by suspicion-less drug-testing of state employees, and the governor shows
no evidence of a drug use problem at the covered agencies.”

Drug testing is a popular activity for Scott, who previously pushed through a law that required drug testing for welfare recipients.

The law forced applicants to cover the cost of drug tests. If those tests came back negative they’d be reimbursed by the state.

After four months the law was blocked by a federal court and ruled unconstitutional.

According to a New York Times study only 2.6 percent of applicants tested positive for drug use much lower than the overall Floridian average of 8.13 percent.

Scott had pushed that law on the pretext that welfare recipients use drugs at a higher rate than Floridians on average. There was no research that Rightardia ever saw that the state provided that suggested welfare recipients had a drug abuse a problem.

Gov. Rick's pretext was the class warfare assumption of an oligarch.

In those four months the program cost the state more than $45,000. That cost doesn't include administrative
costs or legal fees due to court challenges.

In 2003 Michigan had passed a law similar to Florida’s suspicion-less drug testing law
which was also struck down as unconstitutional.

Even in light of those rulings more than 20 states have attempted to advance or pass similar legislation over the last year. Most of the drug testing bills are nearly identical to “draft legislation” published by the American Legislative Exchange Council.

MoveOn.org: Women and the Wage Gap

Republicans deny this wage gap exists. but most American women know otherwise. The wage gap is a big issue for single mothers trying to take care of children.

The GOP solution for less affluent women is to deny them an abortion option and to restrict contraception. Any women who challenges the GOP prescription like Saundra fluke is branded a whore or a lesbian.

And the GOP wonders why it is losing the vote of american women!

Finally an accurate concise statement about taxes

Taxes are essential and the US has taxes as a per cent of GDP that puts the US in the bottom one third of the industrial nations.

Most of the US deficit is caused by war and unnecessary tax buts for the affluent which stated with supply side economics in the Reagan era and was continued with the Bush tax cuts.

Kimmel Pokes Fun at Obama, Secret Service

WASHINGTON, April 29, 2012 — President Barack Obama was at the 2012 White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) Dinner at the Washington D.C. Hilton.

Then Jimmy Kimmel came onto the dais.

On Mittens: "It’s lovely to be here in the vast, magnificent Hilton ballroom," Obama said of the ostentatiously lavish setting, "or what Mitt Romney would call a little fixer upper."

On New Jersey Republican Governor and his weight: "Gov. Christie, you may be misunderstanding the New Jersey slogan. It's not the 'Olive Garden State.'"

On Rick Santorum: “It’s one thing to oppose gay marriage, but it’s another thing to do it in a sweater vest!”

InfoWars: Ron Paul Warns of False Flag Attack

Published on Apr 28, 2012 by

Ron Paul:

I'm always worried about false flags . . .

We have to learn to distinguish war propaganda from the truth.

The Wayne Madsen report warned about this months ago. Imagine a submarine from a third party that was retrofitted to electronically spoof an Iranian sub.

What if the sub launched a torpedo against one of the US carriers near the Strait of Hormuz.

The purpose of GW Bush's life

GW Bush should serve as a warning to to others.

It is easy to remember he was a failure as a president and to forget the majority of Americans elected him twice.

His fist election was a fluke and probably fraudulent, but he was still reelected.

So if you voted for this oaf twice, what's a matter with you?

Mittens says one per cent money talks

Mitt Romney - Presumptive Nominee

Mittens is now the presumptive GOP candidate for president.  He is facing an uphill battle and Obama has both a huge cash and electoral advantage.

The Citizens United ruling also took a hit. According to the Huffington Post, A court ruling requires non-disclosing political groups such as  the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Koch brothers' Americans for Prosperity  to disclose their donors.  A district court refused to stay its ruling during an appeal.

On March 30, a district court ruled in Van Hollen v. Federal Election Commission (FEC) that a loophole in FEC rules that allowed certain independent group campaign efforts not to disclose names of donors was invalid
In other words, PACs and Super PACs will still be able to provide unlimited funds to political candidates. However, they will have to disclose the names of donors.
