In American women we trust

The Freaking News has contests in which artists "update" great works of art.

This week it is Renoir, a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style.

Since the GOP has been beating up women with the attack on Planned Parenthood and the Virginia law that authorized 'invasive" testing of women considering abortion, it is time to say something positive about Amercia's womanhood.

Democrats have a great appreciation for our wonderful American women and are confident that a woman bearing a child will make the right decision about her unborn. Pro-Choice is about a woman's right to choose, it is not an abortionist  philosophy.

A women who pregnant is in the best position to make such an important decision, not the government.

In fact, the GOP view on abortion is very much at odds with its supposed "limited government" philosophy.

The Republican "Pro-Life " view"is often based on irrelevant religious dogma. Although abortion is not mentioned in the Bible, infanticide was quite common in ancient Israel and Judea.

This is what the Bible says about a pregnant women who is injured and has a miscarriage:

When men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no harm follows, the one who hurt her shall be fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon; and he shall pay as the judges determine. If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth...--Exodus 21:22-24

In other words, injuring a pregnant women according to the Bible was what today is called a civil crime, not criminal.
