Recently Defense Minister Ehud Barak countered former Mossad chief Meir Dagan's argument suggesting an Israeli military strike against Iran would immediately trigger a regional war:
Dagan beleives Syria, Hizballah, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad would launch attacks on Israel, seriously battering the country and inflicting heavy casualties. .
Barak stated that The degree of damage to Israel would not be alarmingly high. He estimated that the casualty figure from a combined Arab missile assault resulting from an attack on Iran would be “a lot less than 500. . .”
