DEBKAfile: Iran preparing to mine straits of Hormuz

US intelligence sources suggest that Iran's Revolutionary Guards are preparing Iranian marine commandos to sow mines in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

This would block about 40 per cent of the world's oil supply. It would take US mine sweepers 24-48 hours to remove the mines to open the straits.

Iran has warned it would retaliate  if the US, European and some Arab countries subscribe to economic sanctions that would discourage Iran from developing a nuclear capability.

Are you ready for the big increase in gas prices. AIPAC and Israel is grateful for the economic sanctions the US is developing against Iran.

Israel knows Americans will galdly pay higher gasoline pirces to help Israel through the nuclear crises with Iran. What are good friends for?
