The Tea Party freshmen appear to be ditto heads and ideologues, but at least they respect he US Constitution and voted against continuing provision in the Patriot Act which including roving wire taps without warrants.
These Tea Partiers want deeper budget cuts which for now, have resulted in defeats for what seemed like certain-to-pass legislation. They are also ideologically opposed to any social programs. See a graphic of the Pew survey results:
