Rick Scot was deposed 6-days before he ran for governor. During the deposition, Scott took the Firth Amendment 75 times about this new company, Solantic . He has refused to release the deposition.
One of his former employees recently talked about the unethical means that Solantic uses to inflate profits.
"Solantic really, really pushes it. All they care about is profit margin," said Dr. Gregory Hayes, who says he was urged to resign after working two months at a pair of Solantic clinics in the Treasure Coast.
Hayes, a doctor since 1998, said during an interview with The Palm Beach Post that Solantic's medical director asked him to inflate patient costs by ordering unnecessary medical procedures.
Hayes said he also was told to sell more of the clinic's prescription drugs, despite cheaper alternatives at a pharmacy.
"Ethically and morally I just couldn't do that," Hayes said. "Just because you walk through the door with a runny nose doesn't mean an automatic X-ray and breathing treatment and lab work."
The Scott campaign dismissed Hayes as a disgruntled former employee. This is the the same phrase used to reject a handful of women who have filed lawsuits alleging Scott and Solantic would not hire overweight workers. Solantic has settled this lawsuit.
