Netherland favored to win over Uruguay
Agence France-Presse Jul. 06, 2010. 07:40 AM EST The Netherlands, coming off their victory over Brazil in the quarter-finals, are the favorites in this year’s first semi-final match against Uruguay this Tuesday in Cape Town.
However their coach is trying to curb any excessive euphoria. For Uruguay, never expected to make the final four, being defeated in advance is out of the question.
Uruguay advanced when one of their premier strikers denied a winning goal to Ghana with an intentional handball in the box. This was one of the most unsportsmanlike plays Rightardia has ever seen in soccer.
However, the striker was suspended from today's game with the Netherlands.
We would expect the other game between Spain and Germany to end in a tie and that a shootout will determine the winner.
