Friday, April 16, 2010 Obama must release the Kraken

The cover of The Atlantic this month shows a shirt-sleeved President Barack Obama and the headline, “WHY HE’S RIGHT.” It reflects the Washington view that Obama is on a roll, bolstered by his long-delayed victory on health reform.

Someone should tell the rest of the country.

While Washington talks about Obama’s new mojo, polls show voters outside the Beltway are sulking — soured on the president, his party and his program.

The Gallup Poll has Obama’s approval rating at an ominous 49 percent, after hitting a record low of 47 percent last weekend. A new poll in Pennsylvania, a bellwether industrial state, shows his numbers sinking, as did recent polls in Ohio and Florida.

Rightardia comment: We have seen signs of life in the Democratic party on the Senate Finance bill. Chris Dodd attacked the GOP senators who slip loopholes into the bill and then vote against it. Obama is up after health care passed.

What we need to see is a new aggressiveness on the part of Democrats toward the Republicans. Democrats need to start using the F-word: 'fascism' because that is what the GOP has been morphing into to. The GOP, if act, is a lot closer to fascism than the Democrats are to socialism.

We also need more counter Tea Bagger protesters on the street like the "Other 95 per cent" protest.

Yes, president Obama; yes, DNC; yes, Nancy Pelosi and yes, Harry Reid, it time to release the Kraken.
