Scientists 'Talk' to Patient in Vegetative State

Scientists say they have been able to 'talk' to a man with a vegetative brain injury - via a brain scanner. The study suggests some vegetative patients may have a degree of consciousness. (4 Feb 2010) .

This is interesting , but inconclusive. Perhaps, a more sophisticated interface can be developed to really talk to people in this state. This will help the courts make determinations about people who are in persistent vegetative states.
