Conservatives invoke God to stop national health care reform
Oh, boy! Here is a Jimmy Swagert impersonator named Lou Engel leading two senators in prayer.
One is Sen. Jim DeMint, a man who beleived he could destroy the Obama presidency by defeating health care.
The other Senator is Sam Brownback, a man who wants to be the governor of Kansas. Brownback is a C-Streeter and associated with the Family, a Christo-fascist organisation, that tries to insert religion into American institutions using stealth.
Of interest, Lous Engle is not a doctor of divinity, a pastor, or a reverend. He is not an ordained minister, but he is a good actor and comes across gushing sincerity for his religious convictions. Elmer Gantry would have been impressed.
This is the kind of old fashioned low brow religion that pushes educated people away from churches.
