Yahoo! News: Model Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough eliminated from 'Dancing With The Stars'

LOS ANGELES – Model Joanna Krupa is leaving "Dancing With the Stars."

The Poland-born beauty was eliminated from the hit ABC show Tuesday.

She and professional partner Derek Hough consistently earned high scores on the hit ABC show. They collected an impressive 81 out of 90 points for their performances on Monday's episode, landing them in second place during the semi-finals. But fans failed to keep the couple afloat with their votes.

Viewer votes are combined with judges' scores to determine which contestant is eliminated each week.

"It's been such an amazing experience," Krupa said after learning her fate. "I've grown as a person. Thank you for giving me the opportunity."

Head judge Len Goodman called Krupa and Hough "the most consistent of all of our couples" throughout the season. On Monday's episode, judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Krupa, "You truly are a dancer."

To close Tuesday's show, Krupa and Hough danced the Viennese waltz that earned them 27 out of 30 points on Monday and inspired Inaba to say, "You took my breath away."

Wow! Rightardia would have expected either reality star Kelly Osbourne or entertainer Donny Osmond to have been eliminated. Singer Maya had dance experience when she started the show and the judges have been harder on her than the other dancers. We would expect Mya to win now that Krupa and Hough have been eliminated. We expected the final to be between Mya and Kruppa.

Donny Osmond is a pro and a far better dancer than his sister, but age is a factor. Kelly Osborne has youth but lacks experience. Mya has both youth and experience. Mya should win the competition unless the fans vote in droves for one of the other celebrities. The Osmond fan base kept sister Marie on the show a long time.

The fan factor resulted in an upset last year. Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke had the best dance team but they were upset by Shawn Johnson, the the gymnast, and Mark Ballas.

We hope the judges give the finalists objective ratings rather than identical ratings as they often have in the past during the last week of the competition. If they give the teams the same rating, then the audience will make the final decision.

If that happens we would expect Donny Osmond to win. The Osmond fan base kept sister Marie on the show a long time, perhaps longer than she really deserved. Marie finished in third place in Season 5. Intrade gives Osmond about a 50 per cent chance of winning the competition: See Intrade
