Research 2000 poll does not provide good news for the GOP

With all the noise the GOP has been making about Obama and the Democratic health care initiative, this strategy doesn't seem to be winning the hearts and minds of Americans. This survey that was completed about one month ago suggests the GOP will be facing an uphill battle in the next election cycle.

The Republican strategist, Ed Rollins, is correct. The GOP needs to stop attacking Obama who is a popular president. The GOP would be better off on concentrating their efforts on electing state Republican representatives and senators.

It also appears that many Democratic pundits were correct: the GOP has became a regional Southern party with permanent minority status.
