RNC wants to streamline the Bill of Rights
(Washington) The RNC recommended streamlining the Bill of Rights to resolve “enhanced interrogation techniques” in the Middle East
Today Michael Steele of the Republican National Convention(RNC) offered a compromise to the Democratic Administration of Barack Obama over Bush era torture allegations.
“We can easily fix this problem by streamlining the Bill of rights, in particular Amendments 5 and 8. Congress will also have to revise 18 U.S.C. § 2340 et seq. that defines and forbids torture outside the United States,” said Steele.
The RNC has decided that the Bill of Right is confusing and too long. It needs to be streamlined. Micheal Steele suggested the 10 Amendments in the Bill or Rights could be streamlined into a more manageable six.
Steele pointed out the First Amendment known as the Establishment Clause that provide for freedom of speech, press and assembled had been abused by liberals and progressives. “I think we can toss that one,” said Steele.
Steele wants to change the Second Amendment so that it is mandatory that every household in the US has a gun. This will stimulate the economy and reduce the need for police, cutting government costs.
We can also delete the Third amendment on Quartering of Troops. We haven't needed that one since the Revolutionary War.
The Fourth Amendment is OK, but the Fifth needs some work because it requires due process which could interfere with enhanced interrogation techniques of the military and the police. Also, eminent domain often interferes with property rights so we need to make a change there, too.
The sixth and seventh are OK because they are 'law and order amendments.'
The Eight needs to be tossed, too, because it prohibits cruel and unusual punishment.
The Ninth that that provides protection to people needs some word smithing to make it clear this does apply to American labor.
The RNC would also like the 10th re-worked so that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Conservatives liked the Confederacy at lot, emphasized Steele. State's rights need to be enhanced. Of course, the Supremacy Clause in the US Constitution would have to be changed, too,” explained Steele.
“With a manageable six amendments, we can stop this political controversy about torture in its tracks,” emphasized Steele.
When Barrack Obama, who is a constitutional attorney, was asked for comment, All he could say was “Wow, why am I not surprised!”
