President Obama's head is making 'headlines'

President Obama headed to Chicago or should we say his head and torso are? The staff of Presidents Park (PP) and the delivery crews are stopping in multiple cities around the country on their way to the Black Hills of South Dakota for the final resting place of the 12 foot and 20 ton bust of President Obama. The bust will arrive June 13th in Chicago, Illinois at Grant Park and will leave in the morning for Milwaukee .

The remainder of tour schedule looks like this:

Milwaukee at 10 am. June 14th
Minneapolis/St Paul 4pm. June 14th
Monday, June 15th – Willmar, Minnesota at 12 noon until 2 pm. The sculpture will then head for Sioux Falls, South Dakota to spend the night.
Tuesday, June 16th – to Mitchell through Chamberlin and then to Rapid City, South Dakota to spend night in Keystone.
Wednesday, June 17th – Mt Rushmore, South Dakota.
Thursday, June 18th – to Sturgis, Spearfish and finally to Lead South Dakota, to the Presidential Suites Hotel.

PP is the masterworks of internationally known artist and sculptor, David Adickes. The park sits in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota and features incredible likenesses of all 42 of our Nations Presidents, all standing 20 feet tall.

The park is an educational, art, and nature experience for adults, families, and school groups. Each Presidential bust has a biographical panel with state and national flags of their era placed beside them.

Forty two statues of our nation’s presidents are chronologically arranged along beautiful, naturally gardened trails. Food is available in the garden cafĂ© or picnic in the gazebos. Self guided and guided tours of themes are available.

Theme tours about our Presidents in the military, their impact and the impact on others, the first ladies and their contributions, and assassinations, the attempts and plots. We also have monuments to instrumental events in our history.

Check out the beautiful Visitor’s Center and gift shop with Americana items. There is also have a book store featuring Presidential books as well as other books.

The park is located just a few miles SW of Deadwood/Lead off of US 85 just past Deer Mountain Road. Look for the huge Lincoln sculpture at our entrance. We are approximately 40 miles from Mt. Rushmore and near Crazy Horse, Devils Tower, and Historic Lead-Deadwood.
