Right wing organizations have been trying to prove that Barack Obama was not born in Hawaii.
Barack Obama was born in either Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children or the Queen's Medical Center in 1961.
But officials at neither hospital would respond to questions by World Net Daly, a right wing web site. "Due to patient privacy laws we cannot respond to your inquiries,"such a response would violate Hawaiian Law stated hospital spokespersons.
The "certification of live birth (COLB)" posted by the Obama campaign on the Internet during the campaign is all that is required by Hawaii State Law. World Net Daily is claiming that documentation would not be good enough for some identity purposes is Hawaii. This is meaningless because Obama hasn't lived in Hawaii for years.
Snopes also wrote an article that indicated two Hawaii newspapers announced the birth in August 1961 and that the COLB had been authenticated by experts. These details did not appear in the World Net Daily article.
A private detective working in conjunction with WND Senior Writer Jerome Corsi's investigations last year into Obama's birth place also visited the hospitals in Hawaii, but wasn't able to breech patient confidentially records.
In early 2003, authorities indicate, Corsi was indicted in Ohio for the distribution of child pornography. He was found guilty for peddling kiddie porn, Corsi was handed a cupcake sentence that included no prison time. Conspiracy theories filled Ohio newspaper for weeks on the special treatment Corsi received.
Corsi also wrote two infamous books: Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry and The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality.
In 1995 Corsi helped launch a mutual fund to invest in Poland after the fall of the Soviet Union, which lost $1.2 million. The FBI found no basis for criminal charges.
Although some cases are still pending about the right wing aspersion that Obama was not born in the US, at least 11 cases have been dismissed. If William Shakespeare wrote a play about these shenanigans. He would probably have called it 'Much Ado about Nothing Revisited.”
Give it up, rightards. Obama has been inaugurated. Get over it.
