Mario Piperni on Pink Slip Rick

Florida Governor, Republican Rick Scott, bought his way into office during 2010's Tea Party hysteria, was once the CEO of Columbia/HCA.

The company pleaded guilty to 14 felonies and agreed to a $600+ million fine in the largest fraud settlement in US history. Columbia/HCA admitted systematically overcharging the government by claiming marketing costs as reimbursable, by striking illegal deals with home care agencies, filing false data about use of hospital space, and fraudulently billing Medicare.

The Columbia/HCA board of directors asked Scott to resign as Chairman and CEO following the inquiry. He was paid $9.88 million in a settlement and left owning 10 million shares of stock worth over $350 million.

Could Mittens be his own worst enemy?

Rightardia thinks this may be the case.

We don't think he has the skills a politician like Obama has.

He counter-punches are far too slow.

Rightardia was not impressed with John McCain's campaign, but Sarah Palin dragged the senator down.

What is Mitten's excuse?

Mario Piperni makes the cover of NewMax

Mario Piperni's work has been featured on Rightardia numerous times. He is an architect by trade and makes excellent illustrations and political videos.

He is hardly right wing. but good art is good art, a shortfall in right wing world. This is  because of the stance conservatives have taken toward artists and musicians for many years.

Mario Piperni: The Church, Birth Control and Santorumatozoa

"Mr. Obama announced that rather than requiring religiously affiliated charities and universities to pay for contraceptives for their employees, the cost would be shifted to health insurance companies. The initial rule caused a political uproar among some Catholics and others who portrayed it as an attack on religious freedom.

As for the Catholic Church’s concerns over birth control, I’m (Mario Piperni) going with Bill Maher on this one.

The Catholic Church was livid about this. They should not be forced to pay for something they hate and they don’t believe in. The vagina."

The conservative view of the world

Another good one from Mario Piperni.

Mississippi Rep. Steve Holland has a solition for what ails America and that will also protect our American coastal waters.

This week, Holland introduced H.B. 150 to Mississippi’s House of Representatives Marine Resources the bill would “for all official purposes” rename the Gulf of Mexico (or “body of water south of Mississippi”), the “Gulf of America.”

Hillary Clinton for vice president

Mario Piperni is predicting that Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden will swap jobs. Hillary will become Obama's running mate in 2012 and Biden will become Secretary of state if the Obama-Clinton team wins.

Biden has apparently wanted the Secretary of State job for years.

We like Marios's idea. It would breathe some new life in the Obama campaign.

Mario Piperni: The perpetual motion war machine

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Martin Dempsey:

. . .(O)ne of the things that makes us as a military profession in a democracy is civilian rule. Our civilian leaders are under no obligation to accept our advice; and that’s what it is. Its advice. It’s military judgments, it’s alternatives, it’s options. And at the end of the day, our system is built on the fact that it will be our civilian leaders who make that decision and I don’t find that in any way to challenge my manhood, nor my position. In fact, if it were the opposite, I think we should all be concerned.

Unfortunately, the only way for the country to get [to know] how extreme the GOP is these days seems to be to elect them.”--The DailyKos.

Images of Egypt

In the Islamic world, a shoe is a big insult. In fact you have to be careful not to show the soles of your shoes to a guest because this is considered insulting.

Remember the Iraqi journalist who threw a shoe at GW Bush?

Some great work from Mariopiperni.com and The Freaking News.

Mario Piperni.com: The political center

This is where the political center is in the US because of a shrill minority

Steve Benen wonders on what basis do Republicans contend that any movement to the political center should be limited to Democrats.
After the 2006 cycle, did Republicans “pivot”? How about after the 2008 elections? Last year, voters elected a Democratic Senate for the third consecutive cycle, did McConnell and his GOP colleagues conclude that it’s time to “pivot”?
How about this year, with polls showing the president’s support growing, and Americans preferring the White House’s vision to Republicans’?
I continue marvel at the expectations: President Obama, we’re told, is supposed to take steps to prove his moderation and commitment to working with Republicans, even while the GOP keeps moving to the right, even as Republicans show no similar commitment in the other direction.
Rightardia believes we are in a constant state of war because the US political system is far to the right of the rest of the world. Many countires have, in fact , rejected the corporatist liberal model of the US.

The US took the place of the Germans after World War 2 and is trying to force this corporatist model on countries that don't want it.

This is essentially what happened to some Latin and South American countries when Ronald Reagan was president.
