Israel's government would do well to show that it wants to be a partner to Egypt's success. That is what good neighbors do.
Rightrdia doesn't know how realistic a partnership between the two counties. Bibi Natenyahu will need to show more respect to Mohammed Mursi than he did to President Obama if Isreal really wants a partnership.
CAIRO, March 19 (RIA Novosti) Western warplanes are bombing civilian targets in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, the Libyan Al Jamahiriya satellite TV channel said on Saturday.
Other Libyan media reported that oil depots near the city of Misrat were pounded. "The whole region is in jeopardy of fires," the Libyan news agency Jana said.
On Thursday the UN Security Council adopted a resolution on Libya. Paris has taken the leading role in coordinating the world's response to the tumult. U.S., British and French military have all launched strikes against Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
Around 20 French Rafale and Mirage warplanes were sent to patrol the skies over the city of Benghazi. Since the beginning of the attack, the French aviation has destroyed four government tanks in the neighborhoods of the rebellious city.
British forces are in action over Libya, Prime Minister David Cameron has confirmed. Speaking after an emergency Cobra meeting, Cameron said the action being taken by international forces was "necessary, legal and right". "Gaddafi has made this happen."
A U.S. warship has fired over 100 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Gaddafi's air defense sites, U.S. Admiral William Gortney said. The U.S. operation is named "Odyssey Dawn".
Countries including Canada, Denmark, Spain and Norway have sent jets to Libya, while Italy said it would permit the use of airbases such as Sigonella in Sicily and Aviano in the north to launch strikes.
But even as demonstrators were helping topple the regime in Cairo, one US state government in particular was moving to topple workers’ organizations here in the United States.

The overwhelming support for the Egyptian revolutionaries across the Arab world reflects a sense of unity in the rejection of tyrannical, or at least authoritarian, leaders, corruption and the rule of a small financial and political elite . . .
The Palestinian pretext
The era of using the Palestinian cause as a pretext for maintaining martial laws and silencing dissent is over.
The Palestinians have been betrayed, not helped, by leaders who practice repression against their own people. It is no longer sufficient for regimes in Syria and Iran to claim support for Palestinian resistance in order to stifle freedom of expression and to shamelessly tread on human rights in their own countries . . .

The Israelis are bracing for a period of instability and the likelihood Egypt will become a belligerent on the Southern border.
The Palestinians will dump the Palestinian Authority who was willing to sacrifice East Jerusalem for borders. Of course, the PA is not the legitimate government of Palestine, Hamas is.
But the US has taken the position of Israel that Hamas is a terrorist organization which complicates any possibility of peace. Israel has also insulted Turkey and if it entered the fray with Egypt against Israel in the next middle east war, Rightardia suggests Israel would lose.
Israel needs a new government and to dump Netayahu and his wingnut foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman. Israel needs a peace treaty with Palestine, now more than ever!
House Republicans have released a plan to cut the budget, but Rand Paul says they need to cut even more.
Paul's plan includes cutting all foreign aid, including about $3 billion in annual
forign aid to Israel. Cutting aid to Israel has got some of his fellow conservatives unhappy, but Paul isn't backing down.
"I'm not singling out Israel. I'm a supporter of Israel," Paul said.
Paul added that, "They're an important ally, but I also think that their per capita income is greater than probably three-fourths of the rest of the world. Should we be giving free money or welfare to a rich nation? I don't think so."
Paul added that Israel has defense capabilities already that are ahead of the country's potential enemies.
Paul's phrasing suggested some uncertainty about Israel's wealth, so we decided to check it out.
There are several ways to calculate per capita income by country. The two major indicators showed that Israel was safely in the top 25 percent.
Either way, Israel makes the top 40, which puts it in the top 25 percent of the World Bank listings.
Israel receives about half of all US international foreign aid. The $3 billion in assistance was part of the Camp David Accords. Egypt receives about $1.5 billion in foreign aid each year.
Egypt may abrogate the Camp David agreement. If it does, further foreign aid to Egypt and Israel would not be justified.
According to Wikipedia, the agreement also resulted in the United States committing to several billion dollars worth of annual subsidies to the governments of both Israel and Egypt, subsidies which continue to this day, and are given as a mixture of grants and aid packages committed to purchasing U.S. materiel.
From 1979 (the year of the peace agreement) to 1997, Egypt received military aid of US$1.3 billion annually, which also helped modernize the Egyptian military.
Israel has received US $3 billion annually since 1985 in grants and military aid packages. The Israel foreign aid and military assistance package is expected to be $5 billion this year.
However, the US government has been reluctant to use foreign aid as the stick to get Israel to the peace table.

The Egyptians have a distinct culture and they are not Arabs or Berbers. The country does have ancient Greek influence from Alexander the Great and the Ptolemies.
The Romans also conquered Egypt and Napoleon also occupied part of the country.

From an overnight memo from his National Security Advisor, to a Presidential Daily Briefing that was 40 minutes in length and focused entirely on Egypt, and on through the day, the President and much of the White House spent the day focused on the unfolding situation in Egypt. This evening the President spoke out after a phone call with President Mubarak.
Rightardia read an email from NewsMax that indicated Donald Trump, of all people, thinks the US is the laughing stock of the world and that we have a bad middle east policy. Trump is thinking about running for president.
Rightardia would imagine the main stream media would have a field day if Trump ran for president. Wasn't the current economic crises caused by real estate speculators like Trump?
Should the Us use the GOP solutions and foolishly rush in where angels fear to tred? If the US were to offer support to Mubarek , it could spur violence and demonstrations in other Arab counties.
The US is spending $2 billion a week in Afghanistan ans we don't need to start another foolish venture in the middle east to extend GW Bush's and Dick Cheney's evil empire. Apparently, this is what Trump thinks needs to be done.
Trump also implies we need to use our military power to bring oil prices down.
Trump wants to play hardball with China and stated that the that the Korean trade agreement is bad. Obama refused to sign the initial agreement and got concessions from the Koreans who will build more auto plants in the US.
The US economy would suffer greatly if we got into a trade war with China. It's Chinese investment that is keeping the US afloat and China and Japan are two of the biggest owners of the US national debt.
Trump's ideas might have worked in the Old America post GW Bush. His ideas are hopelessly dated in the multi-polar world that now exists.

Israel stupidly offended the Turkish government, Israel's biggest Islamic ally and refuses to apologize for interdicting a peaceful Turkish ship convoy to the Gaza. The Turks have a far larger navy than Israel and the Air Forces are equivalent.
If the Turks and Egyptians form an alliance, this could mean big trouble for Israel. Throw in Syria into the mix and Iranian nukes and Israel could be in a world of hurt!
Then add in recent revelations about the Palestinian Authority (PA) who agreed to give away East Jerusalem in negotiations with Israel two years ago. We think the PA is finished and Hamas will be strengthened over this disclosure.
It would be great if the government of Benjamin Netanyahu would dissolve over his crises. He is hardly equipped to deal with such dynamic changes in the Middle East. What conservative is equipped to deal with change?
