Sizing up Donald Drumpf editorial

Drumpf appears to be an adolescent in a man’s body. He holds childish views of people and the world:

1. I’ll be nice to use if you are nice to me (naive reciprocity).

2. vengeance is mine if you cross me.

3. I’m invincible and can weasel out of lie my way out of any situation.

4. Naive world view: Nuclear weapons are a deterrent, not an active means of military force or foreign policy.

5. Adolescent speech pattern that is often grammatically incorrect or uses words not in the English language.

Drumpf behaves like a petty small business tyrant in the White House. He rules by intimidation, and many of his staff have been fired or resigned. Because of this he has not been able to attract first rate talent to his administration.

Drumpf's management skills are marginal. Suspect he had left management of his business empire to his family and immediate staff in the Trump business organization.

Drumpf constantly lies—about 5 lies per day—according to the Washington Post and is considered politically unreliable in the US House and Senate. He doesn’t know when to quit when caught in lies.

The La David Johnson situation is a good example. The wife of La David Johnson, the father of the young fallen man and a US congressman all agreed that Drumpf handled condolences in very ham fisted way. A simple apology would have done the trick. A week alter Drumpf is still saying he is right and the Gold Star family is wrong. Very stupid, Mr. President!

Is Drumpf intelligent? Relative to Presidents I can recall starting with Dwight B. Eisenhower would put Drumpf at the very bottom of this esteemed crowd. We really have no information on Drumpf’s IQ. By the way, IQ is a concept that is widely debated in academics. We don’t even have transcripts of Drumpf’s high school or college grades. No ACT or SAT scores either. We do know that Drumpf got into Wharton under grandfather rules, not based upon his academic merit.

The late Professor William T. Kelley, who taught marketing at Wharton for 31 years said:

Donald Drumpf was the dumbest goddamn student I ever had.

The professor “often said that Drumpf came to Wharton thinking he already knew everything.” (Source; http://verifiedpolitics.com/trumps-wharton-professor-trump-dumbest-goddam-student-ever/)
Is Drumpf a narcissist, a sociopath or a megalo-maniac or perhaps all three? We do know that Drumpf always think he is right, which doesn’t work well in the world of politics and compromise.
Drumpf sees the US House and Senate as working for him while according to the US Constitution, the Congress and Presidency are co-equal branches of government. D

rumpf has had similar problems with the judicial branch because he has signed executive orders that are at odds with public law. His executive orders on immigration are an example. The Democrats have also hauled him into court for his attempt to cut coprolite subsidies for the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Drumpf would like to be a dictator and nearly 22 per cent of Americans think that would be fine (source: http://www.con-alerts.com/poll-shock-nearly-a-quarter-of-americans-want-a-dictator/

Of interest, conservatives are certain those authoritarian Americans “are leftist, young folks.” Really? Haven’t noticed any “leftist, young folks” marching with torches in Charlottesville. Although I have seen alt-righties with Nazi flags giving the fascist salute.
Sizing up Drumpf, he is a poor match for President He thought process is adolescent.
Drumpf came into office with the preemption he was a dictator, and has had a revolving door of WH staffers.
We have a President who constantly lies and has not credibility in Democratic and many GOP circles.
Drumpf lacks the native intelligence, especially political, of other modern US Presidents. This situation is made worse by his inability to to use his WH staff effectively.
Drumpf has an authoritarian and narcissistic personality in which he is always right. This works poorly in Washington, where compromise rules the day!

Jeb and Marco's suspended campaigns no surprise.

Jeb had been out of politics for many years and his two terms as the Florida governor were lackluster. Mitt Romney warned him about running for president. Americans haven't forgotten his brother, George W., and the damage he did to the US and world economies

Donald Trump said “Frankly, he’s (Jeb) a stiff. He’s not a guy who can be president. He doesn’t have what it takes to be president.”

Trump has a point. Jeb has no fire in his belly. Jeb never stood out in the numerous GOP debates. We don't need a Casper Milktoast as our next president.

It never amazes me how Republicans enter the political arena at the senatorial and gubernatorial level with no prior political experience. The was true of the two Bush brothers and Mitt Romney. Trump is running for president with no political experience and so were Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina.

Marco's problems are numerous starting with financial irregularities when he was a Florida legislator, Marco was also linked to two women during the campaign which certainly hurt him with Evangelicals. He also indicated he disliked being a Senator.

“I don’t know that ‘hate’ is the right word. I’m frustrated.” Marco told the Washington Post.

Marco was famous for his robotic recital of well rehearsed sound bites. For example. he said "the children of the Reagan Revolution are ready to assume the mantle of leadership" in a speech after the South Carolina primary.

The millennials are the children of the “Reagan Revolution” and most are progressives and Bernie Sanders supporters according to a Frank Luntz focus group.

Marco missed many Senate votes. He accomplished little as a US Senator. This is also true for Ted Cruz, who engaged in one pointless political stunt after another that alienated his Senate colleagues.

Two men who are US senators with two years of national experience are running for president. Don't think either Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz have paid their political dues.

Our next president should not peddle into the White House on training wheels.

Marco got few Florida newspaper endorsements because he developed a reputation as being a lazy politician.

Agree with the Tampa Bay Times: Marco was not ready to be president. He wasn't ready to be a US Senator either.

How to deal with Donald Trump

Trump has said plenty of really stupid things, many of which his GOP opponents have glossed over.

He may be easier to beat in a debate than a lot of people think.  His irreverence  may work in front of many Republicans, but Democrats may find Trump rude and boorish.

When the general election occurs assuming Trump is still standing, the Democrats should assure groups of blacks, Hispanics/Latinos, Native Americans and Asians are prominently sitting together in the audience. This will freak Trump out who will be unable to remove them.

Protesters should also picket his arrival. Hope the Occupy Democrats show up in Cleveland and at the general election debates.

Fast forwarding to the general election, let's assume Hillary or Bernie is is debating Trump.

Let's assume Trump throws a grenade out Bill Clinton's past infidelities. The Democrats should respond about the nude and semi-nude photos of Melania Trump are on the Internet.

When veterans issues comes up, it should be noted that Trump mocked a disabled person at a rally, “Now, the poor guy — you've got to see this guy,,” mocking New York Times investigative reporter Serge Kovaleski. Likewise, how can his escapades with women as a young man be compared to service in Vietnam. Trump has also disparaged John McCain's military service and his internment as a POW while Trump get 5 deferments to stay out of the war.

When racism comes up, it should be noted it took him several days before he repudiated David Dukes endorsement. Can he prove that Mexicans are bringing drugs, bringing crime and rapists to the US?

When immigrants and “the wall” are mentioned, he needs to explain why H2-B Romanian workers are given preference over US workers in his county club in Palm Beach.

How can Muslim immigrants be prevented form entering the US. What is the legal basis for such an action?

When Trump mentions his business acumen, he should be asked to explain his four bankruptcies and why he was unable to get a gaming license in Nevada,

Also. why does Trump think is appropriate to punch a protester in the face or encourage people at his rallies to attack protesters? The US isn't WW2 fascist Germany

Why did he say, "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, okay?

Why did he suggest Hillary Clinton got schlonged in a close primary race with Obama?

Constant Sexual innuendos

Trump has attacked Carly Fiorina's appearance and implied Megyn Kelly was menstruating as a debate moderator. He has attacked celebrity females such as Bette Midler and Rosie O'Donnell as well.

Why the constant sexual innuendos?

Trump: You know, it really doesn't matter what [the media] write as long as you've got a young and beautiful piece of ass." He also says Hillary Clinton can't satisfy her husband or America."

Donald Trump's Four T's will make America Great Again

In a letter to the NY Post, Donald Trump Explained how his Four T's would make America great again. The T's are:

  1. Trivialize women, minorities and the handicapped.
  2. Trust no one.
  3. Trample your opponents
  4. Turn in you neighbors to the police.

Just what America needs, Melania Trump, the First HOTUS.

Melania Knauss-Trump was born Melanija Knavs, Her name was Gormandize to Melania Knauss after she arrived in the US.

She is a former model, a jewellery designer, and the wife of American billionaire Donald Trump.

She married Donald  Trump  in 2005 in a an Episcopal church. Melania was born in Slovenia, a nation that had been part of Yugoslavia. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2006.

It is hypocritical that Donald Trump is married to a recent immigrant from Europe , yet he wants to build a $2 billion dollar wall between Mexico and the US to keep Central American immigrants out.

Donald Trump recently said:

When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending the best,” They're not sending you, they're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing those problems. They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they're telling us what we're getting.

People from 75 nations have been apprehended at the border and most are form Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador, not Mexico.

If  The Donald was somehow to become president, Melania Trump would be the first immigrant First Lady (FLOTUS).

Judging by the pictures, the First HOTUS might be a more apt description.

Opinion: Do you want a school yard bully in the bully pulpit?

Donald Trump is well-known for being an eccentric blow hard. He is a successful real estate developer, but hardly the most successful in NYC. The Durst organization, for example, is several times larger.

Trump pledged to Republicans in the first GOP debate Thursday night that he would run third party of he doesn't get the nomination.

He also mishandled Megyn Kelly's question about derogatory comments Trump has made about women. Trump knew the question was coming and fumbled it. He deflected the "fat pig" quote  with a one liner about Rosie O'Donnel,

He could have responded to the other inappropriate comments he's made about women with an apology, but that not "The Donald's style.

Donald Trump is a good example of what Lawrence Kohberg would describe as pre-conventional.  Looks at Trumps' comment his refusal to pledge to support the GOP nominee:

“Why should I give up that leverage? If they don’t treat me well, you know, you’re talking about the establishment Republicans. If they don’t treat me well Sean, why should I make that pledge?

This is an example of what  Lawrence Kohlberg would call pre-conventiaonl thinking. In other words, you rub my back and I rub yours. This is tit for tat thinking or what attorneys call quid pro quo.

Wikipedia described it this way:

The pre-conventional level of moral reasoning is especially common in children, although adults can also exhibit this level of reasoning. Reasoners at this level judge the morality of an action by its direct consequences. The pre-conventional . . . is solely concerned with the self in an egocentric manner. A child with pre-conventional morality has not yet adopted or internalized society's conventions regarding what is right or wrong, but instead focuses largely on external consequences that certain actions may bring.

Pre-conventionals  think right action consists of what instrumentally satisfies one's own needs. Vengeance is considered a moral duty. People are valued in terms of their utility. It's "An eye for an eye" philosophy. Kohlberg referred to such people as instrumental egoists.

Here is another example. Trump explains his donations to the Clintons. Trump invites them to come to his wedding as a joke,

“they (the Clintons) did come to the wedding, but they came because I’m a donor. If I wanted something, I’ve never wanted anything, but if I wanted something — and I’ve contributed.

Here is a third example of pre-conventional thinking:

"Honestly, Megyn, if you don't like it, I'm sorry. I've been very nice to you, although I could probably not be based on the way you have treated me. But I wouldn't do that."

Pre-conventional thinkers use prid quo pro thinking. You do something for me and I do something for you, Kohlberg called this simple reciprocity.

The Donald could have retained low tones after the debate, but he called Megyn Kelly a "bimbo and a lightweight. Trump also said her questions were very unfair. He added injury to insult by saying on CNN:

You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.

Trump later slammed Erick Erickson of the RedState Gathering for disinviting him. The event features GOP presidential hopefuls this weekend in Atlanta. Trump was scheduled to give the keynote speech Saturday night.

As for Erickson -- who is also a Fox News contributor -- Trump called him a "total loser" who "has a history of supporting establishment losers in failed campaigns so it is an honor to be uninvited from his event."

This is a typical pre-conventioanl repsonse.

When Erickson told the gathering Saturday morning that Trump would not be attending, the news was greeted with a mix of applause and boos.

Folks, I've given Donald Trump a lot of latitude because he's not a professional politician. He's been a very blunt talker. I've said some dumb things in my life, then I've apologized for them,

Erickson continued. "I've got my wife here, I've got my daughter here, I've got 800 friends of mine here. It's a family-friendly program, and if he's not going to clarify that this isn't what he meant, I don't think I want him at my event."

Does Trump have a problem with women?  Penny Young Nance, the CEO and president of the conservative group Concerned Women for America, told CNN that Trump's "tantrum was even more enlightening than his original remarks she questioned."

Every presidential election since 1964 has been carried by women. Women don't like mean and we certainly won't vote for men or women we don't trust. Trump's biggest woman problem is how does he convince women to trust him. . .

Trump does have a problem with women, who are 53 per cent of the electorate. In Trumps' first divorce, his wife refused to have sexual relations with him for 16 months and it was alleged in the divorce proceedings that Trump raped her while pulling out her hair, Later Ivana said the rape "was not in the criminal sense.

Give thanks to Megyn Kelly for outing a man who is unfit to be president.  We don't need a bully in the bully pulpit. We do not need to a President who makes rash decisions because he is offended by someone or something in the international community.

The Donald: The obvious choice for vice president

Romney is looking for a VP who will make him look presidential. How bout Romney- Trump 2012: We Like to Fire People! Dumb & Dumber & Rich & Richer. – Will Durst

But wait, there's more. The Donald may have the same problem Marco Rubio has. Marco Rubio parents were naturalized after he was born so Marco can not fulfil presidential duties when required.

Trump, on the other hand, may not even be a US citizen. He may have been born in South Africa.

Donald Trump, the clown prince of NYC

The Donald jumped the shark when he became a Birther. He lost a lot of credibility with moderate and progressive Americans.

The conservative shtick is that democrats are anti-business, but liberal thought is originally based upon free enterprise and the rejection of monarchs.

The Democrats need to make it clear that they are not anti-business. Of course, the conservative idea is the primacy of business in our democracy has no constitutional basis.

Conservative also suggest that only  successful business people should be in government, However, some of out most successive presidents such as Bill Clinton were primarily politicians.

It is not clear what skills that business persons would bring to the table that would make them more effective leaders.

Many corporate CEO's have authoritarian personalities. Mitt Romney is hardly an exception to this observation.

Certainly, the economic performance of Republican presidents has not been that impressive. In most case Democratic presidents out performed their GOP peers with lower increases in the national debt and a more balanced budget.

Quote of the day

George Will on Mitt Romney appearing with Donald Trump:

I do not understand the cost-benefit here. The costs are clear. The benefits, what voter’s going to vote for him because he’s seen with Donald Trump? The cost of appearing with this bloviating ignoramus is obvious, it seems to me. Donald Trump is redundant evidence that if your net worth is high enough, your IQ can be very low and you can still intrude into American politics.
