Another Army Birther materializes prior to deployment to Afghanistan
Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, an Army physician, has refused to obey any orders from his commanding officers -- including President Obama -- until Obama produces his birth certificate.
"Any reasonable person looking critically at the evidence currently in the public domain would have questions about President Obama's claim to be a natural born citizen,"
Lakin says in the below video released the right-wing American Patriot Foundation. "I will disobey my orders to deploy [to Afghanistan] because I, and I believe all servicemen and women and the American people, deserve the truth about President Obama's constitutional eligibility to the office of the presidency and the commander in chief."
Rightardia: This man should face a court-martial, be sentenced and dismissed from the Army. These military Birthers seem to pop up when they are about to be transferred into a combat zone. Rightardia hopes the Army makes an example of him.

Pskov airborne troopers undergo field training on a fitness trail, similar to ones used by Western units. The two kilometer trail is equipped with a variety of obstacles to prepare troopers to operate in many situations: from mountain tops to cities.
The climbing wall is one of the trail’s obstacles. Troopers can learn to climb, to repel and handle acrophobia. A soldier must climb the 15 meter wall in silence and then kill the enemy.
The kill house is a sort of labyrinth where targets hide around corners. The troopers move in groups of three: two attackers and one to cover the rear. The soldiers must run the training course in less than two hours.
Rightadia ran another video of the same airborne troops being dropped by IL-76 Candid aircraft while inside BDRM-2 armored vehicles.

NASA want Soviet-era engines for Taurus II space launcher
A major U.S. rocket manufacturer says it may buy Russian engines for the launch vehicle Taurus Two being developed for NASA. Aerojet is in talks over the possible deal after successful lengthy tests of the Russian NK-33 engine.
The company bought the same model in the mid-90's and this time
might need up to 70. The rocket engine is produced in Central Russia's
Samara region and was first developed 40 years ago.

Tea Party Unveils 'Contract From America' Planks
Thursday, 01 Apr 2010 11:58 AM

Leading the list as issue No. 1: "Protect the Constitution: Each bill will have to identity the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does." Nearly 81 percent of the respondents liked this idea.
The second most popular issue: "Reject cap and trade: Stop costly new regulations that would increase unemployment, raise consumer prices, and weaken the nation's global competitiveness with virtually no impact on global temperatures."
Tea party officials want to block the cap and trade tax, whether by congressional act or by the Environmental Protection Agency. Nearly 71 percent of respondents supported this plank.
Issue No. 3 was a a balanced budget:
"Demand a balanced budget: Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax hike." That plank received the approval of 69.9 percent of respondents.
Ryan Hecker is the 29-year-old Houston attorney advocated Contract from America concept. What got Hecker interested in this?
"It was my frustration with the Republican Party's lack of legitimacy on economic-conservative issues," he explains. "They no longer represented for me a proxy for my beliefs on the economic front. So this idea came from that. I thought, 'How do we move this country back into an economic conservative direction if that's not where it seems either party is headed. And then it just fit perfectly within the tea party movement."
Rightardia comment: We doubt if plank number one would ever work. The GOP always throws away the US Constitution 'in time of war.' The wiretapping of the Internet and Guantanamo detention are examples of this as well as the secret prisons in Eastern Europe and Egypt. There would be more resistance on the part of the GOP to this than on the part of the Democrats.
We will find out after the 2010 elections if 'cap and trade' is still viable. The Democrats need to get the economy and employment roaring again before they worry about "cap and trade."
The balanced budget has been a political pipe dream for a long time. The Obama PAYGO (pay-as-you-go) is the practice of financing expenditures with funds that are currently available rather than borrowed is already in effect.
Again, such as amendment would have a bigger impact on Republicans than Democrats. However, trying to balance the budget in an emergency like a war of big recession is probably a bad idea. A Constitutional Amendment is a big deal and takes years. It also requires 2/3rds of the House and Senate to propose a new amendment and 3/4ths of the states to ratify.

ClamTk anti-virus tip for Linux
Rightardia recently upgraded tothe Ubuntu Linux 10.4 Beta. We turned on a feature called encypted desktop duing the installation. This stopped the virus scan cold.
Looking around in the ClamTK fornt end, we discovered a whitlist option. We also noticed theat the scan stopped in a home | .encrypts folder. This is a hidden folder.
To see the .encrypts folder, you must go into View and check a Show Hidden Files option. You can also enter <ctrl>-h from the keyboard to see this hidden folder.
Omce the folder is visible, you can whitelist the .ecrypts folder in ClamTK under the Advanced | Whitelist options
Once we whitelisted the .ecryptfs folder, the ClamTK front end worked perfectly.

Palin: Nuclear Iran Would Trigger 'Second Holocaust'
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin slammed the Obama
administration's Middle-East policy on her Facebook page. She
said a failure to confront Iran now would result in a 'Second
Holocaust' against Israel once the Islamic Republic has nuclear weapons.
"Many, many Americans and our allies know that if Iran acquires nuclear weapons, the consequences will be catastrophic for our interests in the Middle East, and we want our government to do everything in its power to prevent Iran from acquiring nukes," she writes.
"Israel would face the gravest threat since its creation. Iran’s leaders have repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel and with nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, the mullahs would be in a position to launch a Second Holocaust."
Sarah Palin's timing is bad because the CIA had already interrogated a defector form Iran who is a nuclear physicist and knowledgeable about the Iranian nuclear program.
At the same time he U.S. has backed away from pursuing a number of tough measures against Iran in order to win support from Russia and China for a new United Nations Security Council resolution on sanctions, according to people familiar with the matter.
Rightardia believes this policy change may have resulted after the CIA debriefed an Iranian defector. The defector was a physicist in the Iranian nuclear program. The Obama administration is far more knowledgeable about Iran's nuclear ambitions than a foreign affairs neophyte like Palin.

Conservative 'C Street House' Residents Face Ethics Complaints For Below-Market Rent
First Posted: 04- 1-10 11:39 AM | Updated: 04- 1-10 12:29 PM
The group of conservative members of Congress who've resided at the notorious "C Street House" may have violated Congressional gift rules by accepting steeply-discounted lodging, new ethics complaints allege.
The watchdog organization CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) filed complaints Thursday charging Republican Sens. Sam Brownback (Kan.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), Jim DeMint (S.C.) and John Ensign (Nev.), as well as Reps. Mike Doyle (D-Penn.), Heath Shuler (D-N.C.), Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) and Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.), with accepting "improper gifts" from C Street in the form of way-below-market rent.
Other residents past and present did not make the list -- most notably trail-hiking Gov. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.), who lived in the C Street House while in Congress and helped make the place famous by seeking counseling there in the wake of his affair.
According to reports cited in the CREW complaints, the members of Congress residing at C Street pay $950 per month for rent and housekeeping, versus a minimum of $1,700 per month for nearby one-bedroom apartments, $2,400 per month for adjacent hotels or $4,000 for corporate housing.
The CREW data piggybacks in part on similar charges filed earlier this week against the house itself by a clergy group, which complained to the IRS that C Street was improperly using its privileged tax status.
Rightardia has written about C Street which is funded by The Family, a shady right wing Christian group headed by Doug Coe. Coe preaches that the leaders in Washington are not resrticted by normal socil norms that may expalin why Republicans ignore the US Constitition and have corrupted the National Intelligence Community.
The Iraq War is a good example of this. The intelligence used to justify the war was based on a single source report that intelligence professionals should never provide to policy makers. The basis of good intelligence has always been multiple sources. Americans now know there were no WMDs in Iraq.
Likewise, the Patriot Act authorized the government to wiretap the Internet. A federal judge ruled Wednesday that government investigators illegally wiretapped the phone conversations of an Islamic charity and two American lawyers without a search warrant.
This group was originally founded by an Scandinavian minister named Abraham Vereide, who was sympathetic to European fascists during World War 2. Vereide started the National Prayer Breakfasts in the US.

Nashville Business Journal: Sen. Bob Corker indicates health care won't be repealed

Republican health care plan
U.S. Sen. Bob Corker said Wednesday that Republican efforts to repeal sweeping health care reform are futile. He instead promoted incremental fixes in a wide-ranging talk in Nashville.
In the immediate aftermath of the reform’s passage, many of Corker’s Republican colleagues, including 2008 presidential contender Sen. John McCain, have pledged to repeal the legislation. Corker described that as unlikely, given the reality of needing 67 votes in the Senate to overcome a presidential veto of repeal legislation.
“The fact is that’s not going to happen, OK?” Corker told dozens of people at Vanderbilt University.
Still, Corker made clear his opposition to the legislation and spoke in favor of continued, incremental legislative reform in future years to correct problems he foresees.
Democrats have heralded reform for extending health insurance to the majority of Americans through a national exchange and various subsidies. the new law eliminates pre-existing conditions and life time medical insurance caps.
The Tennessee Republican criticized the legislation as costly. He doubted that changes to Medicare, for instance, would yield savings to make reform budget neutral. He expressed support for protecting people with pre-existing conditions, but said reform as it stands will squeeze out private insurance.
Corker’s also spoke Wednesday about pending financial reform.
Rightardia comment: The health care reform bill will save money. The US had been paying twice as much as the other countries for health insurance, but 10 per cent of the population lacked health insurance and the industry hid behind pre-existing conditions and insurance caps to keep profits high.
The new law also eliminated the Bush era Medicare Advantage which was supposed to offer better Medicare benefits form seniors with the 'private option.' In fact, this program was heavily subsidized by the federal government and it just made Medicare more expensive to the taxpayer.
Many seniors are fearful about the reform because health care has been extended to the majority of Americans. Some believe this will negatively affect Medicare benefits. Since all US taxpayers who have been paying 1.5 per cent of their income to fund Medicare without any benefit form this tax until you reach 65, this selfish argument should fall on the deaf ears of younger people.
Under health reform, millions of young people will be entitled to tax credits to help them afford coverage. A young single person making roughly $43,000 or less will qualify for credits to help him or her afford coverage.
Under health reform, young adults will have the option of purchasing a low-cost “young invincible” policy as an alternative to more comprehensive coverage. Young adults will have the option of purchasing a lower level of coverage that meets their needs.
Those who still cannot afford coverage will qualify for a hardship waiver. And of course, thanks to health reform, young adults will now be able to stay on their parents’ coverage until they turn 26.
As a result of health reform, young adults who previously would not have carried insurance will now have the security of knowing that they won’t be driven into debt by accident or illness as they are just starting their lives out on their own.
Young people and children represent Americas future. They deserve the same health care coverage that seniors have been enjoying since the Democratic Party passed Medicare, which was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson as part of his "Great Society" in 1965.
