Media Matters for America: Fox News says there is no Republican stinking ' "War on Women"

"Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson interviewed U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long to discuss the Democrats' charge that Republican policies are anti-woman. She introduced the segment saying "many Democrats at last week's convention accused Republicans of waging a war on women, but Republican women would beg to differ."

Carlson asked Long if it "could be insulting" for Democrats to focus on social issues and the two quickly pivoted to the economy with dubious talking points about how women have fared economically under Obama."

Published on May 13, 2012 by

The women from MoveOn's first War on Women ad are speaking out again. And this time, they're congratulation Mitt Romney?

See their first ad here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfjAMRgpoug&feature=relmfu

Congratulations, Mitt Romney!

You're the presumed GOP nominee and all you had to do was threaten to let our employers take away our contraception coverage threaten to let our insurance companies charge us more, just because we're women and threaten to get rid of Planned Parenthood, a life-saving source of healthcare for million of women.

So this November, we're gonna remember how you threw women under the bus, just to get the nomination.

The Winner in the War on Women

“YA’  SEE, IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT THIS WHOLE PROBLEM CAN SIMPLY BE SOLVED BY KIDS HAVING TWO MOMMIES — ONE TO WORK IN THE HOME, AND ONE TO WORK IN HOME  CONSTRUCTION.”--Political Satirical Report

FactCheck: Obama’s ‘War on Women’?

"What the graph shows clearly, and the numbers back up, is that men took a bigger hit than women, and the decline in jobs for men began much earlier. The downturn in male employment began in May 2007 — a full seven months before the official start (in December 2007) of what became the worst economic recession since the Great Depression. Female employment continued to rise for 10 months after the downturn in male employment, and it peaked in March 2008."

Mario Piperni: Another Republican Shill for the War on Women

Acording to Nikki, women just care about is jobs and the economy. Rightardia saw her interview on NightLine.

Nikki thinks the GOP has not mounted a war on women.

Rightrdia's view is that the GOP have always been a divider:

  1. poor on welfare against the middle class
  2. black v. whites
  3. Hispanic immigrants v. working class Americans
It was just a matter of time before Republicans got around to women.

War on Women: Supreme Court says states can't be sued for denying unpaid sick leave

3/22/2012

The Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that public employees can not sue a state if they are denied unpaid sick leave.

The conservative majority said such lawsuits are a violation of states rights. The ruling addressed part of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 that said employees have a right to take a maximum of 12 weeks of unpaid sick leave for childbirth or a recovery from illness.

The dissenting opinion was drafted by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who said the ruling directly impact women who are at risk of losing their jobs due to pregnancy or childbirth.

That stipulation in the Family and Medical Leave Act is the closest the United States comes to providing maternity leave.

The US is one of only five countries in the world that fails to provide guaranteed paid sick leave for women giving birth.

Ninety-eight of the 168 countries that provide some form of maternity sick leave offer more than 14 weeks of paid leave. When it comes to guaranteed sick leave 145 countries guarantee leave for short term illnesses with 127 countries providing more than a week per year.

The GOP war on women continues.

Of course, the US is such an "exceptional country," our women don't really need sick leave for pregnancy now, do they?

Our women should just shake child birth of and return to work like good corporate sheeple.

Momma told me pick my battles carefully

The GOP made a big mistake attacking the Komen Center, Planned Parenthood, the pro-choice rights of women and contraception during the GOP primary.

The GOP took a 20-point hit after the smoke cleared with female voters.

The Young Turks have a "vagina monologue"

John McCain was on Meet the Press this morning and said the Republicans need to get off of the topic of contraception. Some pundits believe Obama set a trap for the GOP on this issue.

Since the GOP started attacking Planned Parenthood, passed invasive abortion laws, and Rush Limbaugh slurred Sandra Fluke, the GOP has lost 15 per cent of its female base.

No one talks about the Fox News "War on religion" anymore, it now the Republican "War of Women"

DCCC publishes Billie Jean King email

Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs

Some people called my tennis match against Bobby Riggs, "The Battle of the Sexes."

But the real battle is playing out in the halls of Congress right now, because Republicans are waging an epic battle against women’s health care choices.

I signed the DCCC’s petition telling Republicans to end their War on Women and ensure women’s voices are heard in discussions about women's health care. If we can get 134,691 more signatures today, we'll have one million strong standing against the Republican’s assault on women’s rights.

Will you sign the "Stop the Republican War on Women" petition today?

You may know me from my tennis career, but some of my biggest victories came off the court--for fairness, equality and progress for women. That’s why I'm so appalled by what we’re seeing in Congress right now.

First, House Republicans held a hearing on women's access to birth control coverage that included a panel with five men and no women. Then they changed their own rules and refused to televise testimony from women’s right advocate Sandra Fluke.

Republicans want to silence women but I refuse to sit on the sidelines. Help us send Republicans a clear, unmistakable, and powerful message.

Join me and immediately sign the DCCC's petition calling on Speaker Boehner, Leader Eric Cantor and House Republicans to end their War on Women and ensure women's voices are heard in discussions about women's health care.

Thanks for reading,

Billie Jean King

RDT: Small government Republicans in action

Republican Dirty Tricks:

Republicans busy themselves by distracting America with one of their old standbys – the war on women – with the ultimate aim of maintaining the Plutocracy they’ve been constructing for 30 years.
