Michael Moore: This is war!

Rachel Maddow and filmmaker Michael Moore both agreed that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and the state's Republicans will lose what Moore describes a "class war" being waged against the working class.

Get of of your asses, America. You will be working in corporate towns again if you put up with this.

Hysterical Raisins: The Teatanic

Rachel Maddow of MSNBC has devoted two segments since Tuesday to criticism of CNN’s decision to air Michele Bachmann‘s Tea Party response to the State of the Union:

Inexplicably, a national news network decided that they would give Michele Bachmann a job that her own party never did.

CNN’s Piers Morgan leapt to his new network’s defense on Twitter saying:

Sorry, but just nonsense for @maddow to say @cnn shouldn’t have run Tea Party speech. Rep(ublican) split is proper news, may decide next election.

Maddow was right and Morgan was wrong. The Bachmann SOTU response was poorly done and satirized on SNL.

BTW the bats in the night sky and on Michele's blouse are a nice touch!

Rachel Maddow talks about Keith Olbermann leaving MSNBC

The clip appears to be from HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher.

Rightardia is certain Olbermann will be back on mainstream media. We hope he comes back less preachy and with more concise monologues. Regardless, he was a strong voice for the progressive community. He is probably one of the brightest people in media.

We will miss him.

Repblican Dirty Tricks: Did the GOP collapse the economy for political gain?

RDR refers to a Rachel Maddow interview with Dr. Doom, the economist, who predicted the economic collapse during the Bush administration.
Was this simple incompetence or did the GOP take the economy down for political gain?

See the Rachel Maddow video on this topic that is posted above.

SNL: Maddow Interviews Pelosi, Boehner & Rangel

"Saturday Night Live" was full of great impressions, starting with the opening skit. Abby Elliot did a great impresion of Rachel Maddow in a sketch where she interviews John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi and embattled Rep. Charles Rangel.

Now that the dust has settled from the midterm elections, Maddow caught up with the representatives on what comes next.

Highlights include Keenan Thompson as Rangel calling Maddow "young man," Pelosi mispronouncing Boehner's name, and Boehner recalling a vision of the collective American people telling him to lower the deficit.

Sen. David Vitter should apologize to Rachel Maddow

Rachel Maddow is certainly one of the most progressive voices on radio and TV, but she is also a gentle soul. She  rarely raises her voice to conservative guests and goes out of her way to be even handed.

She is probably one of the brightest political commentators on TV. Conservatives frequently appear on her show because she treats them with respect.

Comments like those that follow about her are mean-spirited and unnecessary.  David Vitter should know better after recently declaring he is a birther.

Rachel Maddow is authentic and one of a kind. She deserves better than the dialogue that follows.

David Vitter in a moment of what passes for jocularity in the Vitterverse, on Rush Radio 99.5 in New Orleans.

MALE HOST: I wonder if Senator Vitter is ever going to post, like, maybe the video of the first time he was on the floor of the Senate. If I have to show the way I looked the first time I was on TV, you should do that too.

VITTER: We should go further back than that, how about high school yearbook?
MALE HOST: Oh yeah.

VITTER: De La Salle marching band.

MALE HOST: That'd be cool. Well you know, with Rachel Maddow they had that picture of her...

FEMALE HOST: Looking like a woman?

Story continues below
MALE HOST: Yeah it was really bizarre.
VITTER: [LAUGHS]: Must have been a long time ago.

ALL THREE: [HEAVY LAUGHTER]

"Going Rogue" Goes Rogue: Sarah Palin's Book Shoots Rachel Maddow

You will have to watch the comedy sketch to understand the headline.

"Going Rogue" Goes Rogue: Sarah Palin's Book Shoots Rachel Maddow, FBI Agents In "Late Night" Sketch (VIDEO)
digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - "Going Rogue" Goes Rogue: Sarah Palin's Book Shoots Rachel Maddow, FBI Agents In "Late Night" Sketch

Sarah Palin's book "Going Rogue" was everywhere--every media outlet in the States has done at least a dozen pieces about it. Well now it's nowhere to be found: "Going Rogue" has gone rogue. It picked up a gun, snuck off the set of "Late Night," evaded FBI capture, shot Rachel Maddow and went to meet up with its lover.

This was all part of a sketch last night on Jimmy Fallon's show that was equal parts crazypants and hilarious. They used every fugitive-on-the-run cliche to give the book a life of its own.

Newsy.com: New International Domain Names

November 15, 2009 3:27

International Internet regulator ICANN is accepting applications for non-Latin alphabet web addresses this week. Media outlets around the globe weigh in on if the breakthrough will benefit the cyberspace. This should help a lot of local businesses who wish to create web sites and domain name in their native language.

Rachel Maddow has become a geek and was one of the first people to discuss the development on national news. There are downsides, too. Phishers have been using non-Latin characters in web names to misdirect Internet users and steal passwords and credit card information. The rogue Russian Business Network and other crackers will try to take advantage of this development.

Latest health care ploy: The Deathers

Rightardia comment: First we had the Birther bimbo, Oily Titz.  What a joke she was! She had a fake legal degree and was involved with the Israeli right government who doesn't like Obama's middle eastern policies. She crashed and burned when she produced an obviously fake birth certificate from Kenya. Apparently the GOP had sent a team to Kenya hoping to find a Barack Obama's birth certificate.

Now we have the 'Deathers' who want you to believe you will die early if the America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 is passed. They have tried to link the bill to euthanasia, abortion, and mandatory 'end of life counseling' when the government doesn't want to pay a senior's health care bill any more.

This is an outright lie because countries that have public health care live longer than Americans. Canadian men and women, in fact, live three years longer than American.

“First came the ‘birthers,’” Slate’s Christopher Beam noted Tuesday. “Now, as President Obama makes a final push for health care reform, we have the deathers.”

Republicans are trying to rally opposition to President Obama’s health care plan by suggesting it will literally kill people. One GOP legislator said the reform plan is a way to advance assisted suicide. Can scare tactics like this prevent Congress from voting on the health care bill? MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was joined by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT to discuss these recent developments Tuesday night.

Earlier Tuesday, President Obama fielded a question at a town hall hosted by the American Association of Retired Persons.

“I have been told there is a clause in there that everyone that’s Medicare age will be visited and told to decide how they wish to die,” a woman named Mary hailing from North Carolina asked the president. “This bothers me greatly, and I’d like for you to promise me that this is not in this bill.”

Maddow remarked, “The president of the United States today answering whether or not he wants health care reform because it’s secretly a plan to kill old people. This is one of those moments where you go, ‘Huh, any questions?”’ Most of all, it‘s just a big misunderstanding, right? It‘s like a ‘Three‘s Company’ plot line.”

Rachel Maddow exposes the Astroturf Disrupters

The Astroturf Disruptors are being bussed into health care town hall meetings by far right wing organizations funded by corporations. Many of the paid protesters don't even live in the local area.

Rachel Maddow: GI Bill for the 21st Century

You can get more information on the Post-9/11 GI Bill on the Army's website, and check out a guest blog post from Staff Sergeant Jim Miller.

At George Mason University today, the President explained why the Post-9/11 GI Bill is so critical to our country. "We do this not just to meet our moral obligation to those who have sacrificed greatly on behalf of our country. We do it because these men and women must now be prepared to lead our nation in the peaceful pursuit of economic leadership in the 21st century."
This is a particularly important issue for the President, who was a co-sponsor of the Post-9/11 GI Bill while in the Senate. Now, he is dedicated to seeing the bill successfully implemented as President.

Today’s event marked the launch of the bill; the Department of Veterans Affairs began distributing tuition payments to schools participating in the program on August 1. The bill provides comprehensive education benefits to our veterans, and assures people like Staff Sergeant Jim Miller, who introduced the President, are able to go to school after their service. In his remarks, the President praised our veterans for their great sacrifices:

Rachel Maddow discusses America's Racial Past

A sampling of Buchanan's "facts" that Maddow corrected:

  • Buchanan: "She's never written anything in terms of a law review article or major book or something like that on the law." False. Maddow's staff tracked down at least five such articles, proving that just because Buchanan hasn't read something does not mean it has melted from existence.
  • Buchanan: "How did she get on Yale Law Review? Affirmative action." False. Maddow contacted Yale Law School and confirmed that the students themselves choose who makes the Law Review, and a spokesperson said this about Buchanan's affirmative action statement: "That is a statement of opinion by Mr. Buchanan."
Watch the segment to see more, especially Maddow's demolition of Buchanan's surreal claim that "this has been a country built basically by white folks."

When will conservatives stop serving America the race card?

Editor's Note: Every week conservatives drop the race bomb. This has been continuous since Barack Obama was elected. I thought the race relations were progressing in the US, but the right wing has trouble dealing with a multi-racial president who has been a great job and has a high approval rating.

Last week Pat Buchanan told America on the Rachel Maddow show that the US was founded by 'white people.' Tell that to the blacks who lived in the antebellum South. The black population was as large as the white in most of the Southern states prior to the Civil War.

Brian Kilmeade apologized Monday for controversial comments he made on a July 8 episode of "Fox and Friends."

The controversy arose when Kilmeade and his co-hosts were discussing a Swedish and Finnish study on Alzheimer's disease.

Kilmeade concluded "we [Americans] keep marrying other species and other ethnicities . . . Swedes have pure genes . . . in America we marry everybody...

Republican tries to put a spin on neo-fascist C Streeters

[VIDEO CLIP] Zach Wamp of Tennessee is a Republican member of Congress who says he has lived in the C Street house for 12 years. Today he told the Knoxville News Sentinel that the members of Congress who live there are sworn to secrecy. Quoting from the News Sentinel, "The C Street residents have all agreed they won't talk about their private living arrangements, Wamp said, and he intends to honor that pact.

That was on this show on Friday. Today Congressman Wamp's office contacted our office to complain about what I said saying, quote, "This statement made by Ms. Maddow Friday night is false: 'Today he told the Knoxville News Sentinel that the members of Congress who live there are sworn to secrecy.' Congressman Wamp now now denies that the C streeters are sworn to secrecy.

The on-the-record quotation from Mr. Wamp was that C Street residents have all agreed they won't talk about their private living arrangements. The News Sentinel characterized the agreement as a "pact."
