Proof that Psy and the leader on North Korea are the same person

Rightardia wrote a expose that the leader of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and Psy, the inventor of Gangnam style, are the same person.

You heard it here first.  Here is the video The Kim Jung-Un (Kim Young One) performing Gangnam style in North Korea.

NK army officers in Iran and other saber rattling

Commentary wonders  North Korean military officers are doing in Iran? Rightardia would expect it probably has something to do with air defense.

The North Koreans have a board assortment of air defense weapons including the SA-10 grumble and the SA-17  Gadfly. It is believed both are produced locally in NK. NK is believed to have a handful of the SA-10 but 500 of the SA-17s.

The SA-10 is the basis of the S-300 air defense system the Russians have refused to sell Iran.

It is possible that Iran is trying to get some of this air defense hardware in the event the conference in Turkey falls apart.

Would the NK missiles be as good as the Russian? Probably not.

Meanwhile, the Israels are rattling sabers. DEBKAfile reports that Israel’s chief of staff Gen. Benny Gantz said:

other countries have readied their armed forces for a potential strike against Iran’s nuclear sites to keep Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Who could that be?

Israel's major allies are USA, Germany, Australia, Singapore, and Canada.
SU-25KM Scorpions

We can't imagine any of the above with the possible exception of Singapore that would help Israel. Support form any NATO country is unlikely.

Israel has also worked with the Republic of Georgia in the past. Israel modified 6-8 of the the SU-25 Frogfoot ground attack aircraft to meet NATO standards, but it not known how many of these aircraft are  still operational

This aircraft has a combat radius of 235 miles and can carry 11 9,700 pound bombs.

North Korean elephant rocket misfires

The North Koreans should have known better than to name their rocket after an elephant.

However, we applaud them for launching an elephant. We have a few elephants in US politics that need to launched into outer space such as Rep. Allen West.

Al Jazeera: Thailand seizes 'N Korea arms jet'

North Korean jet seized in Thailand
A cargo aircraft transporting over 35 tonnes of arms from North Korea has been seized and its five-man crew detained after landing at Bangkok airport for refuelling, Thai officials have said. Four of the men that were arrested are said to be from Kazakhstan and one is from Belarus.

The arms included missiles and grenades, Panitan Wattanayagorn, a spokesman for the Thai government, told Al Jazeera on Sunday.

"The incident is under investigation by the Thai police and tomorrow the five gentlemen will be processed through a court of law in Thailand," Wattanayagorn said.

"We believe that since the plane came from North Korea it violated UN resolutions and we will proceed accordingly."

Since carrying out a nuclear test in May, North Korea has been under UN sanctions aimed at cutting off its arms sales which are thought to net Pyonyang more than $1bn a year.

'Tangible proof'

The North's biggest arms sales come from ballistic missiles and its customers include Iran and other Middle Eastern states, according to US government officials.

Mercedes Stephenson, a defence and security analyst based in Toronto, told Al Jazeera the incident was "tangible proof that North Korea is actually engaging in this activity".

"It's significant in that they've actually caught this particular shipment, [but] it's small in the overall amount of shipping that we suspect North Korea is actually doing ... it is very difficult to track illicit arms shipments."

Media reports said that Thai authorities were alerted about the aircraft's cargo by US officials.

Wattanayagorn did not comment on the reports but said: "We have been working with many agencies from many countries and we will continue to do so."

He said the aircraft had been due to stop again for refuelling in Colombo, Sri Lanka, but that it was unclear what the crew's ultimate destination had been.

The men denied charges of arms possession and were refused bail.

Bill Clinton meets the glorious leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Il

PYONGYANG, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), met with visiting U.S. former President Bill Clinton on Tuesday, the official central television reported, releasing several photos of the meeting.

According to the report, Clinton conveyed a verbal message from the U.S. President Barack Obama to Kim. But the White House denied that Clinton carried a message from Obama.

The report said that Kim expressed thanks and welcomed Clinton's visit to the DPRK and "had an exhaustive conversation with him (Clinton)."

The two sides widely exchanged views on the issues of common concern, it said.

The DPRK leader also hosted a welcome dinner for Clinton in Paekhwawon State Guest House on Tuesday evening, which "proceeded in a cordial atmosphere," it added.

DPRK's first vice foreign minister Kang Sok Ju and Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party Kim Yang Gon also attended the talks.

Clinton arrived in Pyongyang earlier in the day. He was believed to come for the release of the two journalists who were captured on March 17 and were sentenced to 12 years of "labor reform" in June.

Accuracy of DPRK missiles improves

By Zhang Haizhou (China Daily)

China appealed for calm and restraint Sunday, one day after the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired a series of mid-range missiles.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said in a statement: "China has noted the situation and hopes all sides show restraint and together maintain regional peace and stability."

Russia made a similar comment.

The DPRK launched seven ballistic missiles, the defense ministry of the Republic of Korea (ROK) said, in an act of defiance toward the United States on its Independence Day.

The ROK said the actions further stoked regional tensions already high due to Pyongyang's nuclear test in May. "We are on high alert," Reuters quoted an ROK defense ministry source as saying.

The DPRK reportedly fired three mid-range Rodong missiles, which can hit all of the ROK and most of Japan. It also launched four Scud missiles, which can strike most of the ROK, Yonhap news agency said.

"Five of the seven missiles fell near the same spot in the East Sea (Sea of Japan), which indicates that their accuracy has improved," an anonymous ROK official told Yonhap. The officials said the missiles flew about 450 km and that it will take a few days to confirm what was fired. The Scuds and Rodongs are both ballistic missiles.

The DPRK has also fired several non-ballistic, short-range missiles since the May 25 nuclear test.

The DPRK has more than 600 Scud-type missiles and 300 Rodong missiles, unnamed defense officials said, according to Reuters.

The latest launches were the biggest barrage of ballistic missiles Pyongyang has fired since it set off seven, including its longest-range Taepodong-2, in 2006 also around July 4.

The DPRK is trying to attract US attention by launching missiles on its Independence Day, said Shi Yuanhua, a researcher on Korea studies at Shanghai-based Fudan University.

"The DPRK's intention is very clear, as it has always been, hoping to hold direct talks with the US," Shi said.

He also said Saturday's launch was no surprise, because everyone knew the DPRK was capable of doing so.

"All sides were well-prepared, so (they are) a bit tired of Pyongyang's actions," he said.

Countries responded differently toward Saturday's launches.

Shortly after the missile launch, the ROK foreign ministry called it a "provocative action", since UN Security Council Resolutions have banned Pyongyong from shooting ballistic missiles.

The Japanese government lodged a protest against the DPRK through diplomatic channels in Beijing, Kyodo News said. Hours after the launch, US State Department spokesman Karl Duckworth called for the DPRK not to "aggravate tensions".

Shen Shishun, a researcher with the China Institute of International Studies, said the US, ROK and Japan were the most worried about nuclear proliferation.

Shi, of Fudan University, said it would be of more concern if the DPRK were to launch inter-continental missiles. International tensions would escalate if Pyongyang were to do so.

"The possibility, however, is not big in the short term," Shi said. "DPRK's economic situation prevents it from conducting unlimited missile launches."

But Liu Jiangyong, a researcher at Tsinghua University, said the DPRK might take more serious measures, such as "a third nuclear test" or "test-firing intercontinental missiles", according to public reports.

Sports Politics: Two hilarous sports stories from Korea

03 July, 2009, 18:38

In the first story the world discovers that Kim Jong Il, the DPRK leader, masterminded North Korea’s FIFA World Cup qualification.
Despite being busy threatening the world with his nuclear program, Kim Jong Il finds time to help North Korean sportsmen achieve outstanding results. It’s claimed he’s behind the football (soccer) team’s World Cup qualification.

North Korean sporting officials claim that it was the invaluable tactical advice that the head of the state gave to the players that allowed them to win a ticket to South Africa in 2010, reports Choson Sinbo, a Japan-based newspaper published by the General Association of Korean Residents.

“The Great Leader gave in-depth guidance on the development of Korean football. He proposed the game’s tactics most relevant for the physiological characteristics of the Korean players”, Kim Jong Su, General Secretary of North Korean Football Association, said.

The official also said Kim Jong Il personally guided the team at the stadium in April last year.

According to the newspaper, the Great Leader’s involvement allowed the Korean footballers to show their own game and cope without copying the style of play of the leading Western teams.

Head Coach of the North Korean national squad, Kim Jong Hun, explains the main reason of his men’s success lies in their "exceptional spiritual strength and unity.”

"Perhaps there’s no other team in the world, who would be fighting with the same dedication to please the leader and to bring fame to their motherland,” Kim Jong Hun said.

The North Korean team finished second in Group 2 of the Asian qualifiers, two points behind their neighbors from South Korea.

They will now compete at the World Cup for the second time in history. Their previous appearance at the tournament became a sensation. The underdogs progressed to the quarterfinals, beating football powerhouse Italy on their way.

Football is not the only interest of Kim Jong Il’s outside politics. The Great Leader is also a specialist in art, as he recently helped a Korean theatre to stage the opera ‘Eugene Onegin’.

In the second story we discover that the North Korean soccer team lost to South Korea today--1-0--because the team was poisoned by the South Korean government. Perhaps the team ate some bad kimche.

The North Korean football federation has blamed South Korea of deliberately poisoning their footballers ahead of the World Cup qualifier held in Seoul on April 1, AP news agency reports.

Several North Korean players complained about stomach pains the morning before the game, and later three of them were diagnosed as having food poisoning.

Head coach of the North Korean team Kim Jeong Hoon insisted on moving the venue of the encounter from the South Korean capital to a neutral field, as the hosts were unable to ensure food quality for their guests, but the request was rejected by FIFA.

North Koreans, who were unbeaten before the match, have lost 1-0. Kim Chi Woo scored the winner for the hosts with just four minutes to play.

According to the statement by the North Korean coach, they are confident that the incident was a planned act by South Korea, aimed at hampering the relations between the two bordering states.

Yes, bad kimsche, that's the ticket!

North Korea (DPRK) test-fires four short-range missiles off east coast

(Xinhua) Updated: 2009-07-02 20:09
(SEOUL) The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired the fourth short-range missile in the day off its east coast on Thursday evening, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported.

DPRK fired the fourth missile at 09:20 p.m. (1220 GMT), after three missiles fired at 5:20 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 07:50 p.m. respectively from Sinsang-ni between the eastern coastal city of Hamhung and Wonsan, the report quoted a South Korean official as saying.

According to South Korean defense ministry spokesman Won Tae- jae, DPRK fired the short-range missiles off its east coast on Thursday, just hours after the DPRK ended its talks with South Korea without progress over their joint industrial park.

The missiles, which appeared to be surface-to-ship ones, "were fired into the East Sea (Sea of Japan)," Won Tae-jae said.

Other officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the missiles landed about 100 kilometers off the coast, where the North had imposed a June 25-July 10 maritime ban for a military drill.

The firing is the first military action Pyongyang has taken since the UN Security Council passed a resolution bolstering sanctions on DPRK for its May 25 nuclear test.

Within several days of the nuclear explosion in May, Pyongyang fired a string of short-range missiles off its east coast. South Korea believed that Pyongyang is also preparing to test-launch an intercontinental ballistic missile.

North Korea may launch missile toward Hawaii in July

OKYO, June 18 (RIA Novosti) - North Korea may launch a long-range ballistic missile toward the U.S. state of Hawaii in early July, Japan's Yomiuri daily said on Thursday, citing Defense Ministry analysis and U.S. intelligence.

The paper said the Defense Ministry believes the launch is most likely to take place between July 4 and July 8. The ministry has declined to comment on the report.

The paper also said that the missile was likely to fly over Japan's Aomori Prefecture toward Hawaii, but would not be able to reach the main islands.

The missile, thought to be a long-range Taepodong-2, would be launched from the country's Dongchang-ni site on the northwestern coast, said Japan's best-selling newspaper.

North Korea tested a nuclear weapon on May 25, accusing the U.S. and South Korea of aggressive intentions. Pyongyang said on Wednesday that it would meet any attack with "one thousand-fold retaliation."

Following the underground test, the United Nations widened an arms embargo and authorized ship searches in an attempt to disrupt the communist state's nuclear and missile programs.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese leader Hu Jintao said after a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday that they were in favor of resuming six-nation talks to resolve the North Korean nuclear problem.

The six-nation talks, which involve North and South Korea, Russia, China, Japan and the United States opened in 2003, but stalled last November.
