Political Buzz 1.24: Role Reversal: Romney Bashes Gingrich in Debate

Mittens opener is accurate. Gingrich actually hired consultants to advise him on how he could skirt the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA).

Newt was fined $300,000 for two House Ethics violations and forced to resign as speaker afterwards in 1998 because his House GOP colleagues had little use for him.

Neswt was also the central figure in creating a divisive confrontational political dialogue between Republicans and Democrats in Washington DC that extended after hours.

Newt responds by playing a Romney -- trying to stay above it all. This won't change the race overnight but should serve Romney well by the time Florida Republicans vote.

In the wake of Walter Cronkite's death, Time conducted a poll to find out which news anchor Americans trust the most, and Jon Stewart won resoundingly with 44% of the vote, beating out Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric.

On the one hand, yay, I'm always happy when my coworkers succeed. On the other hand, yikes, our fake journalists are more trustworthy than our real journalists. What time is Ow My Balls on?

alaska1Meanwhile, there are two things I really like about these Alaska results:
#1. They add up to 101%
#2. The entire state clearly holds a grudge against Katie Couric for her Palin interview.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Jon Stewart Is America's Most Trusted Newsperson

The Daily Show's Jon Stewart has been selected, in an online poll conducted by Time Magazine, as America's Most Trusted Newscaster, post-Cronkite.

Matched up against Brian Williams, Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson, Stewart prevailed with 44 percent of the vote. Now, if we're being honest, he probably managed to prevail as the winner precisely because he was the odd man out in a field of network news anchors.

Could this be a reaction to Fox News being the 'fair and balanced' network?
