Mittens tithes almost as much to the Mormon church as he he pays in federal income tax

Mitt Romney now claims he never paid less than 13 per cent of his income in taxes for the last 10 years.

As a Mormon he is expected to tithe 10 per cent of his income to the Latter Day Saints.

According to the Huffington Post:

On his tax returns, Romney reported that he gave the church $1.53 million in 2010 on income of $21.7 million, and in 2011 estimates he'll donate $2.6 million to the church, on expected income of $21 million. The 2010 amount is less than 10 percent, while the 2011 figure is higher than the expected tithe.

CBS news also noted under the Ryan Budget plan:

Under the budget plan offered by Republican vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., President Obama charged in a Windham, N.H., campaign stop Saturday, Mitt Romney would "pay less than 1 percent in taxes each year."
