FBI raids local Fasttrain business college

It is alleged that Fastrrain was mishandling Pell grants. One student claimed he was not getting "his cut."

Students claimed they were being charged for dormitory services, food and travel expenses. Fasttrain campuses are comprised only of classrooms and administrative offices.

The maximum Pell Grant award amounts for the 2011--13 award years are $5,550 per year . These grants are for low income stuidents.

A student may receive less than the maximum award depending not on financial need, and the costs to attend school, and his or her status as a full-time or part-time student.

A school can apply Pell Grant funds to school costs, pay you directly (usually by check), or combine these methods.

The school must tell you in writing how much your award will be and how and when you'll be paid.

Schools must disburse funds at least once per term (semester, trimester, or quarter) or minimally twice per year.
