Common Cause publishes list of ALEC members

ALEC has come under increased public scrutiny lately for its extremist agenda to limit voting rights, privatize schools and prisons, weaken environmental protections, and promote ‘Stand Your Ground’ gun laws based on the controversial Florida law in the Trayvon Martin shooting.

There are many telecommunications companies like AT&T, AOL, sprint and Verizon. Both Amazon and Ebay are in ALEC. Wal-Mart is on the list as well as many petro-chemical companies, pharmaceuticals and for profit college chains.

So is Publix Super Markets. Shame on Publix!

Rightardia sent this message to Publix Supermarkets.

I saw Public Supermarkets listed as a member of ALEC and was greatly disappointed. As a Publix shopper of many years, I have held your company in high regard until now.

I hope you reconsider being a member of an organization that is quite frankly un-American.
